I was looking for a thread someone started about the Israel only teaching which - I guess - claims the Bible and Jesus' ministry is for only Israel. So only Israel is saved?

I just wanted to post what I read today that refutes that - IF, that's what the belief is..

I found it interesting in other ways too.

I read the following, here - https://feast.icej.org/about - tho the underlining is mine.
Quote
Every biblical holiday given to the Jewish people has three aspects. Israel was to observe the holiday in the present in order to remember something God had done in the past, while looking forward to some future prophetic purpose hidden within each festival. This is true for their weekly observance of Shabbat, as well as for the annual pilgrimage festivals of Passover, Pentecost and Tabernacles.

A Feast for all People
Tabernacles is unique in that the Gentile nations were invited to come up to Jerusalem along with the Jewish people to worship the Lord at this "appointed time". The Lord told Moses to gather all men, women and children, along with the foreigners in their land, so they can learn to fear the Lord (Deut. 31:12).
When Solomon later dedicated the Temple at Sukkot, he asked the Lord to hear the prayers of any foreigners that would come there to pray (2 Chronicles 6:32-33). It may surprise some, but Jesus kept the Feast of Tabernacles as well. On the last "great day of the feast", he stood in the Temple and cried out: "If anyone thirsts, let him come to Me and drink. He who believes in Me, as the Scripture has said, out of his heart will flow rivers of living water." (John 7:37-38)

...It's my belief the advents of the Lord are prophecied by the Spring and Fall Holy Days - Passover, etc, fulfilled by His first advent. And the Fall ones prophecy His long second advent - Trumpets (of Rev. & His return/appearing and the millennium/"thousand years" represented by the 10 days between Trumpets and Day Of Atonement - Day of Atonement representing "the judgment" - the 5 days to Tabernacles signifying 500 years duration - and as Rev. 21:1-5 says after a fiery remake of the heavens and Earth, "God will now tabernacle with mankind upon Earth.. wherein rightness shall dwell".

The "correction" of all preceding, of course, the fiery remake / 2nd death? which is the death of death, etc. And God being "perfect" (Mt.5:48) is there any one He cannot correct? (Which would NOT be "perfect").
:Peace2:

One thing I understand about the extremists is, they believe (and I disagree) that the gospel and cross was only/strictly for Israel.  That they needed it to come out of the Law.  But that us, the gentiles/nations, don't need salvation or the cross, we're already included because we were never under the Law.  I've seen one of these guys in particular teach, and IMO, they twist the scriptures almost beyond recognition as to their proper application.  If you quote a scripture, they jump in and say "but that was written to...  so doesn't apply to us.  We don't need salvation, we don't have sin, so we don't have anything to be saved from".

2 Peter 3:16  "....hard to understand, which ignorant and unstable people distort, as they do the other Scriptures, to their own destruction."

2 Peter 2:1  "But there were also false prophets among the people, just as there will be false teachers among you. They will secretly introduce destructive heresies, even denying the sovereign Lord who bought them--bringing swift destruction on themselves."
The oldest known manuscripts agree with each other 99% of the time.  The scriptures, accurately translated, Spirit revealed - reliable.   Looking unto Jesus, the Author and Finisher of our faith.  Heb. 12:2

Amen! It's so apparently and obviously wrong to think we have no sin / flaw.. and never have.. And to think it's not transgressing a law that has bad result, but the law itself.. So God put Israel under, then had to send Messiah to rescue them.. The - whole - thing makes no sense..

IMO, just as God was the one who gave the law to Israel in the wilderness because of their disobedience; religion is the one who gives the law to the Gentiles in this world because of their disobedience.

IMO, religion is the new god to the world, what I believe the Old Testament referred to as a different/strange fire

I believe that baptism is supposed to be, a conscious decision to change our lifestyle,

GOING FROM
a spirit of condemnation through the covenant of the law, accusing and condemning others because they don't follow the law

TO/INTO
a Spirit of Love through the covenant of Grace, forgiving others despite the fact that they don't follow the law.

Israel accused and condemned the Gentiles; religion accuses and condemns the world

the purpose of the law was to teach us right and wrong, good and evil, just as Paul stated that it was our tutor, our schoolmaster, but mankind (not just religion) uses it to accuse and condemn others with a separation mentality, separating themselves from the wholeness of the law, and what I mean by that is: they will accuse and condemn another for breaking one law that they believe they do not break while at the same time not seeing themselves breaking other laws, (which I believe is the example of the speck and the plank in the eye).

The law is a whole, even though there are separate parts to it ... and understanding that principle ... to separate the parts from each other is to break the whole

we break God's law by not keeping them as a whole, which I BELIEVE, is how not only religious people, but all of mankind justifies themselves, because that is exactly what I did when I was indoctrinated in religion.

It has taken a long time for me to become more loving, to become more forgiving, to get from being a spirit of accusing and condemnation through A LAW of man, to a Spirit of Love and Forgiveness

And what I mean by "A LAW of man" is: the law they make for themselves that "they have every right to accuse and condemn others of wrong doings" .... and is that not the way of the world.

the strength of sin is the law, and what I believe that strength is: our ability to accuse and if we accuse, are we not an accuser and who is the accuser?

The sending and giving of His Spirit of Love after the ascension of our Lord and Savior Christ Jesus is to put to death the accuser in all of us, kill the cause of death and death is no more.

Amen Jugghead! ...that makes a lot of sense..

I especially liked -
Quote
the strength of sin is the law, and what I believe that strength is: our ability to accuse and if we accuse, are we not an accuser and who is the accuser?

I never got that before!

And,
Quote
The sending and giving of His Spirit of Love after the ascension of our Lord and Savior Christ Jesus is to put to death the accuser in all of us, kill the cause of death and death is no more.

Amen, and as I read that, into my mind came an image of "Christ Crucified" and how I truly believe "the atonement" isn't to 'appease' God in any way.. but to appease our very own conscience. If we likely 'average sinners' can cause ourselves all kinds if trouble through having a guilty conscience, and find it challenging to forgive ourselves, just imagine if we were one of the ones whom God allowed to descend so far into imperfection that we did truly horrible things to other people? Genocided a whole nation or something.. been a ruling despot causing true misery to so many others. So I think of the image of our Lord on the cross as an image strong enough to pierce any psyche. And of all those who rise, initially, "still in their sins" will be, I believe, many who - in large part in these 'last days' - because of the ET gospel hate God.. Which too, initially, may require a very strong image to pierce through those hardened hearts. But I'm starting to babble-on.. :gsmile:

Edit: I forgot my point.. :laughing7:

It was like a filmstrip.. On the cross image.. followed by what you wrote about "the process" begun in believers with the Father's outpouring of His Holy Spirit..

P.S. ..I used to give translators the benefit of the doubt.. but the more I compare translations of verses with the original verses.. the more obvious it is - even in newer translations - their tendency to choose the most extreme.. the most 'condemning' possibility if words and verses. Like punishment instead of the more dominant meaning of correction.. to name just one.. But there are SO MANY.

Want to write a post or blog titled "beware the ..." oh dang, I forgot the rest! I got so sidetracked in the meanwhile..

It's like that same accusing spirit.. human character to put others down is to make one feel lifted up. To choose the harshest possible translation.. Oye.

...then there's the spirit of competition which causes human nature to hang onto doctrine regardless.. or not accept what another shares, because self must be the smartest.. must be right.. etc. So ET is a stronghold.. remains strongly held.. as is another belief closely related? For a time, like brick walls, lol. Looking forward to the bricks falling loose.. Taking A LOT of (hot) steam out of 'hell' and ET/ECT. ..but I'm babbling-on again..
