My Gospel Poem

Hi everyone,
      I just wanted to share this poem/song with you. Ever since I can remember, upon reading this verse, my heart would always swell up with joy and my eyes would fill with tears. Now I know why; This Is The Gospel. God's declaration to us that He and He alone is our reward. The means by which we obtain the prize is through the Son and by this shall ALL nations of the earth be blessed.

P.S. It's still a work in progress but I hope your hearts will be blessed with what I've written thus far.

My Shield & My Reward
Genesis 15:1

An exposure of You is the prayer I'll become,
not this charade on display but THE WORD ALIVE in me.
You are my Abba Father The One whom loves me well
and my life has been framed within the Greatness of Your Name.

My pain and my angst forged in the fire of your love,
a new name I've been given and it's mine in You alone.
My life a shard of the explosion of your Grace,
for my wounds in Christ alive have found their resting place.

You are my Shield my Exceedingly Great Reward!
You are my Hero, the only one I've known.
You are my Hero for you've loved me oh so well!
You are my Reward for in You I've been made whole.

Though my walk has been a struggle and sin appears to reign,
Your Spirit always rescues me with Grace I cannot explain.
There my shattered nature is reshaped in The Potters Hands
for what I intended as evil you direct for my good.

My body is breaking down and my soul is wearing thin,
for class is almost over and I'm still struggling within.
At times my doubts prevail pushing my faith off to the side
and I wonder have I hoped in vain are you really on my side?

You are my Shield my Exceedingly Great Reward!
You are my Hero, the only one I've known.
You are my Hero for you've loved me oh so well!
You are my Reward for in You I've been made whole.

Living is a process as The WAY unfolds before me
for every moment of every minute I'm constrained by your love.
Reflecting on my life I can see the trodden path and although regrets are many
I AM strengthened to forge ahead.

When my final breath is taken and my joy in you complete,
The vail shall be lifted and my heart will take its seat.
For the day my journey closes this song I'll sing for you,
My Alpha and Omega, I AM won and one in You!

I'm glad you enjoyed it and thank you both for your kind words. I so enjoy reading all the material here and I'm learning so very much. Talk about being blessed with words, so many of you write so fluidly expounding on the Scriptures and sharing your insights that I marvel at you all.
