confess our sins

When Jesus told Peter and friends (co-fishermen) to fish more when they'd fished all night and caught nothing.. And then they caught so many the nets broke, and then Peter said "I am a sinner! Lord don't come near me for I am a sinner!"

This is the kind of "confess your sins" I think is meant. I don't mean it as a criticism.. all groups/churches, I believe, err in many ways. Even like we people do, and churches, etc. being made up of people! And there's many wonderful things about each believing church, and people too! {If we can't have a sense of humor about all the error in the world, I'm not sure our joy can be full! And I really do think the Lord's will and intent is that our peace and joy be full.

..Which is all psychological? And the beginning of untangling the knots of our entanglement in "missing the mark" (translated sin).. is that confessing to Him, and to ourself, that we are flawed.. and able to also acknowledge, believers, to one another, that they/we are flawed.

And, however - miracle of miracles! - that imperfection, missing the mark, even list of sins.. is all covered. It is covered in the very blood - and life (force) of the Lord.. And buried as if under the depths of the sea.. And as "far as East is from West".

Do the churches - or I should say doctrines - keep us focused on self? Instead of a more collective view? Keeping us in kindergarten, so to speak? But the Lord is bringing us of age to see the great and glorious Good News as so much bigger than the old "it's all about me"..?

The two poles all along the way.. forgive me Lord I'm a sinner!" (Flawed! Not making a deliberate practice of sinning, lol) ..And the knowing our Father has agreed wholeheartedly to see us as being in the perfection of our Lord! (And HE will bring us to that very condition! Is progressively bringing us, to perfection. "When Jesus appears/comes a second time to those eagerly awaiting Him" Hebrews 9:29.

And, to top all this wonderfulness off, in the meanwhile we are allowed to enter the actual and real Holy Of Holies -- the Father's very Presence; which the earthly Holy Of Holies was a symbol and shadow of. (Heb.9:24)

Amen , reminded me of  Jesus saying in Luke 9 The Greatest in the Kingdom

(Matthew 18:1-6; Mark 9:33-37)

46And there entered a reasoning among them, this, Who may be greater of them?
47and Jesus having seen the reasoning of their heart, having taken hold of a child, set him beside himself, 48and said to them, 'Whoever may receive this child in my name, doth receive me, and whoever may receive me, doth receive Him who sent me, for he who is least among you all — he shall be great.'

not everyone believes in UR  now , But they will see the great glory   and mercy of God one day   and realize all things are possible with God  ..............
I believe they struggle so badly with their own salvation , that they cannot see  God saving all because their faith is hindered  for this  time .  as if it is a veil is covering their  faces . Only the Holy Spirit can  do such a wonderful work of breaking though   that veil .......

Absolutely- they give the illusion of obedience, but relies on self effort.
Col 3;22,23  " These are all destined to perish with use, based as they are on human commands and teachings.
                      Such regulations indeed have the "appearance" of wisdom with their self-imposed piety, false humility,
                      and harsh controls over the body,
                      but they are of no value against the gratification of the flesh."

  I believe they struggle so badly with their own salvation , that they cannot see  God saving all because their faith is hindered  for this  time .  as if it is a veil is covering their  faces . Only the Holy Spirit can  do such a wonderful work of breaking though   that veil .......

Each at their own appointed time.

I.M.O mankind is still in the early stages of development. There are many more ages before the final curtain.
That is why Paul tells us to focus on the ages to come.

  I agree that we all  are blessed beyond measure !    and keep our eyes on Jesus Christ and the things above .
