I was looking up what verse Jesus was quoting when some people "picked up stones to stone Him" because He had called Himself the Son of God.. and He said why do you accuse me? If the Scripture, which cannot be broken says "you are gods" to those who received the instructions of God.. I'd been reading in Revelation about the heavenly vision of the throne with around the throne are the 4 living creatures or beings with wings who ever say holy holy holy - there is energy in praise after all and it seems that they carry along the throne - then the 24 elders (next) around the throne.

The verse quoted as saying ye are gods/elohim, who received the law/scripture, is Ps. 82:6.. but in googling for it I came across the phrase "the encampment of the 12 tribes around the Tabernacle in the wilderness" ...I'd forgotten about that. I'm sure it's likely gone into here at the Tent somewhere..

  I cannot help but remember the  covenant of salt with David  [humility ]    but knowing it is GOD  for us who can be against you ?? 

I wonder if the rods of iron are the   called out ones to  BE THE  rods of men ?

I believe the gods are the idol worship of men and the works of mens hands , when  many call the evil good and the good evil ...

  not able to discern   the spirits working in mankind   and what manner of spirit is ruling over them . by their fruits you will know them  , because it is by the fruits of the HOLY SPIRIT WE KNOW IT IS GOD  and not evil ruling over the nations

  JESUS CHRIST IS THE STANDARD  set in the earth and when we follow Jesus by faith in His works  ,    HE will never disappoint  or forsake  , He will not deny Himself   ever .  call upon the name of the LORD to be saved ! I take comfort in knowing ISRAEL WILL  DO just that in the end ....

Amen, Rose.. Truth breaks apart all untruth.. pure consumes impure.. clarity consumes confusion.. light consumes dark.. and Life will consume death! One day Truth will rule - and love is truth and the truth, is love. Everyone knowing truth, will insure that truth will rule.. And it's an iron / unbreakable rod or measure. He will beat away the chaff via truth.. The winds of truth blow away all chaff..

I.M.O those not yet aware of this throw accusations at those who are aware- trying to justify their own current behaviour and values.
We see this amongst the royals- the media throw stuff at them regularly- none of that changes their position.
This seems to be the suffering with Christ in this current age to grasp how He felt during His time here in this age.

Amen, the trend of the world, or what we once called Christendom, is, well, definitely a strong trend. Christendom has fallen away from even believing from afar.. But that's not to say the gospel message isn't still riding forth in victory.. conquering and to conquer. I hear in many places it's 'catching fire' as they say.. usually in dangerous places.

"Ye are gods.. spoken about those who received the scriptures" (God's children) is in no way apotheosis of the pagans.. levels of initiation into mysteries.. and the sentiment of I will be god  or like god. Heck no!

He adopts us.

And it is His grace, His Spirit.. His radiance.. His life.. Which is going to be all in all.

One great obstacle in considering this subject is the generally misunderstood meaning of the word "god". The Greek word "theos" (god) does not always refer to Jehovah.  It signifies a mighty one, a ruler, and especially a religious or sacerdotal ruler.  In the following texts the word "god" (theos) is used to refer to others than the one supreme being, Jehovah—John 10:34, 35; Acts 7:40, 43; 17:23; 1 Corinthians 8:5.  It is the translation of each of these four Hebrew words—"el, elah, elohim, adonai", all signifying the mighty, or great. 

In Psalm 82:1, the distinction of beings translated by the word "god" is very marked:  "God (elohim) standeth in the congregation of the mighty (el); he judgeth among the gods (elohim)."  Here the first word "God" refers to Jehovah, the All-mighty one.  The following translated words refer to other mighty ones. Also notice verses 6 & 7, "I have said ye are gods (elohim); and all of you are children of the Most High (el yon, the highest God), yet ye shall all die like men..."  Although we are sons of the Most High, we die and appear as nothing more than mere men.  In us, as in our forerunner and head Jesus (Hebrews 6:20; Colossians 1:18), God is manifest in our mortal flesh, although Jesus was perfect and we are not (John 10:35, 36; 2 Corinthians 4:9-11).  We have the privilege of addressing God as our Father because we have faith in Him and are seeking to do His will.

Even when someone says (quotes, I guess) we shall reign with Christ, I always want to say we will serve with Christ, and under! Of course. How else could it be? (imo) ..Now here's a weird thing I've been thinking. By time end of the millennium that all His chosen - selected through no choice, doing or deserving on their part - will know every verse of His Word by heart, and the numbers and order, etc. A total download! Not just dumped all at once, because the idea is to learn and know. (One reason, for teaching during the judgment?)

Have you studied up on the word reign? Or reign with? I haven't..
