I myself would say that everything he wrote about is based upon it, simply because it is based on the LOVE of God for us and that is because we can love (not only God but others as well) BECAUSE He first loved us.

Love unites, which I believe is just another way to say "reconciles"

In my daily reading of the letters, right now, I am reading Colossians, so am starting there in my taking note of (hopefully) every UR verse - straight forward, and, implied.. Though I'd rather start with Romans, first listed or Glatians, believed to have been written first by Paul (though I guess 1 Thess. could also be first).

After -

Colossians 1:20
The interlinear, I think, is important here - because the verse very often is translated as - ..and through Him to reconcile to Himself all things, whether things on earth or things in heaven, by making peace through the blood of His cross.

It seems to me, in the interlinear, there is no word "things" -- but to translators, it is thought to 'imply' all things, as the mindset was, surely God will not/can not save all?!

- Contemporary English Version (imo, is more accurate, although, it should read simply "all") And God was pleased for him to make peace by sacrificing his blood on the cross, so that all beings in heaven and on earth would be brought back to God.
But if we want to include an implied, surely beings is more accurate than things! Is there any doubt imaginable, that God can bring all "things" back to God? And salvation being about His creatures, and not only about heaven and Earth.


P.S. -  all and any other verses are more than welcome :thumbsup: I plan/hope to put them in order when done (and will take a while, as my daily reading of the letters spans a year, and am mostly just adding as I go along.)

 Thank you! It's a great list.. according to it, he wrote 30 UR verses, 33 if we believe he wrote Hebrews (which I do).

It's also a great quick reference to find where verses from the OT are quoted, where those are..

I also will consult Jabcat's list of 77.. But will also do it myself as a good study/and to better remember them - practice makes 'perfect'! As I figure I may as well, as I'm reading through the letters (annually) til I get back to Colossians, which is what I'm reading now. -- I read the letters in the order believed written (which really, for me, brings much to light reading in that order). And I will make, if all goes well, two lists one in order of the letters as in our NT, and one in the order it's believed he wrote them.

But you are right, this is an excellent list!

I am under the impression   that under the old law  being the tree of knowledge of good and evil  , we develop  our own standard of truth    from it  , causing the Log in our eye  as a stumbling block  , that  causes us to stumble at Gods Word 

terribly  , like Paul / Saul being a murderer   and covetous man  , both he addresses in his confession  , and in ignorance  to God but wise in his own eyes  .

  Knowledge of sin   without LOVE is useless  and dangerous  and preys upon the innocent  , Jesus told us that the cross was about forgiving  them Father they do NOT KNOW what they are doing  ...  Killing the truth[LIFE ]   cannot be done !!! 
but sets up judgement  upon our own heads [ serpents  sting  of death]   

  PAUL /SAUL had to be made blind  and helpless in order to be  converted   / changed ...  like a little child  to be led by the Holy Spirit  , this is why He said  I no longer  want to know  anything but JESUS CHRIST  and Him crucified .  the rest was dung and fertilizer    to make the seed of Gods Word grow  in him .

Paul began   to take up his cross [dying to the world ]   and know   those things he must suffer for Jesus names sake .
and  righting the wrongs  and be of use  to Gods kingdom message [UR message  of  love and forgiveness of sins ] , a way of Life unto the gentiles [nations ] .

  I believe PAUL was entrusted with the mysteries  and   much revelation  of the LORD JESUS CHRIST growing in truth and grace to the fullness of Gods calling .  the  true  light had come to his house .

If He has allowed the fruit to be chewed on by all.. He has, as we and UR know, predestined also that it will be digested by all.. In the guise of free will and freedom, all will fully understand the only true freedom and knowledge is the Life that is God and only in God. That there is no freedom (nor life) apart from God. ...having been tried in all its awfulness..

Demonstate to who? There's a verse about the faithful angels are also observing and learning..

Ephesians 5:1 - not direct, straight out UR/CU, but SURELY strongLy suggests it :

1 "Be imitators of God, therefore, as beloved children, 2 and walk in love..."

The rest of the verse, of course- just as Christ gave Himself... which certainly doesn't make it any less UR.
