Whole, wholly - no darkness

In 1John 2, John wrote how Jesus died not only for our sins, he said, "but also for all the world".

The word "all" here is from G#3650, holos

3650 hólos (a primitive adjective and the root of the English term "whole") – properly, wholly, where all the parts are present and working as a whole

— "where ALL the parts are present and working as a whole
God is good! ..."light and in Him is no darkness at all" - no shadow.. (1 Jn 1:5)

I think this is interesting too -

darkness: properly, the darkness due to want of daylight, John 6:17; John 20:1; ἐν τῇ σκοτία (λαλεῖν τί), unseen, in secret (equivalent to ἐν κρύπτω, John 18:20), privily, in private, opposed to ἐν τῷ φωτί, Matthew 10:27; Luke 12:3; metaphorically, used of ignorance of divine things, and its associated wickedness, and the resultant misery:   
   No darkness, no not knowing.. no (surely?) falling short ..quite capable of making "the whole" to be light w/ no darkness

We know this of course.. but ET does not..

For me, amplified makes those sort of elaborations as well- the English can be sometimes a restriction to the full meaning of words.
Using the Thesaurus shows just how many words have "similar" meanings, but can weaken the intent of the writer.
So reading the other versions also helps me see more in the word.

Little e.g -  we are to be transformed by the renewing of our mind.

to be - exist, live, to occur, remain, continue,

transformed- old creature to new creature from an infant state of being into an entirely unrecognisable and different state as an adult.
                    In the animal world, the creature undergoing the transformation has absolutely no say about any part of the process.

renew - to make new again, replace

mind - the intelligent faculty, understanding, thought, conception.

Ergo- to exist, remain and continue, the old creature[way of life] being changed entirely into an unrecognised and different state of being, with completely replaced new understanding having had no say in the process.

To me highlighting the depth of true grace.

I Also like how Paul addresses his letters to the saints- 
                                                                            God's holy people set apart for God to be exclusively His.

All truly inspirational writings in the word as God makes us grow.
