Episcopius

I have the book THE ONE PURPOSE OF GOD by Jan Bonda.  He was a Dutch Reformed minister who, after retirement, began seriously investigating Universalism.  It went against many of his Calvinist beliefs, so was hard for him to accept, but he did.  The book is largely an exposition of Romans, in a radically different way than I had ever seen before.  I am on a few boards as Episcopius, a few as Anto9us, and a few as DancesWithGnostics.  I am halfway through Bonda's book for the second time, the first time convinced me that Universalism MIGHT BE true -- this time it seems it IS true.  William Barclay is the only other commentator I have read who is Universalist.  I am Methodist/Arminian.  Episcopius was a spokesman for Arminius' followers after Arminius passed away.

In fact! This is a beautiful truth!
- Amor Vincit Omnia -

"That is why we labor and strive, because we have put our hope in the living God, who is the Savior of all people, and especially of those who believe." I Tm 4, 10

"Se trabalhamos e lutamos é porque temos colocado a nossa esperança no Deus vivo, o Salvador de todos os homens, especialmente dos que crêem." I Tm 4, 10

Socrates taught Plato.  Plato taught Aristotle.  Aristotle tutored the son of Philip of Macedon.  This boy grew up to become Alexander the Great, largely by slaughtering a lot of people.  That's philosophy.

Jesus spoke the Truth.  He blessed the poor.  He healed the sick.  He even raised the dead.  He died on a cross for us, lived again, and came back long enough to tell us to love one another.  That's religion.

Welcome!

Hope you enjoy your stay here. I think it is a pleasant and informative place to be.

A nice place to share our thoughts, ideas, songs, and laughter....in the Spirit of Universal Reconciliation.
