Hello there!
I'm Forest, I'm a soon-to-be Texan!
I've believed in UR since I heard about Jesus as a little girl. After some hardships in life, I kind of fell away from my religion. I married a non-believer (agnostic) and went through a terrible period of time with Christianity because of it.
At the beginning of this year I went through a very profound and terrifying existential crisis. Not only was I afraid for my spouse's eternal destiny, but that of all of mankind. I spent many sleepless nights praying the sinners prayer, praying over my spouse and the world, in desperation. I didn't love God, I feared Him, and wanted to be as far away as possible from Him, even if that meant spending an eternity in Hell. I didn't want to be in Heaven if there were people in Hell.

I began my journey on the afterlife in studying NDEs through the website www.near-death.com as well as IANDS and NDERF. It was actually there that I learned that there was a theology that described what I had believed my whole life, and there is where I found Tentmaker.

Since then, I have been extremely blessed to have the resources provided by Tentmaker at hand. I can't tell you how many of those "Is God Love?" sleepless nights have turned into "God Is Love!" sleepless nights. I decided to create an account on the forums because I have a lot of questions, but I want you to know that there are probably a lot of people who, like me, read these forums and smile, whisper a thank you to God and are given the true hope of the Gospel.

I'm excited to finally converse with as many of you as I possibly can!!  :dsunny:

Hello Forest,

It must be a time zone thing, but let me say that I am honored to be the first to say WELCOME.

I am happy that God has brought you here (I am here through a similar experience).

There is definitely a lot of wisdom, and definitely a lot of diverse ideas here, but I think I can speak for everyone, in that we all realize the value of what we have found here, truly a pearl of great price!.  I'm sure you will LOVE it here!

Trust in God, and all these things will be revealed to you, in time.
John 1
14And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth.

Socrates taught Plato.  Plato taught Aristotle.  Aristotle tutored the son of Philip of Macedon.  This boy grew up to become Alexander the Great, largely by slaughtering a lot of people.  That's philosophy.

Jesus spoke the Truth.  He blessed the poor.  He healed the sick.  He even raised the dead.  He died on a cross for us, lived again, and came back long enough to tell us to love one another.  That's religion.
