Hey Y'all!

I am a universalist and have been for some time. Not because I studied many hours and carefully weighed the evidence. I just feels right in my gut. If God cares so much for the fate of sinners that he would send his own son to die in their place not keep going until he actually achieves his ultimate end? I'm from South Georgia. I hope to learn more about UR so that I can express myself with others when sharing the universalist gospel with them. Thanks for adding me. :)

Welcome! I love the username! And I love your reason for believing in UR.  This place is great for fellowship, learning, sharing, and there's very rarely any negativity. It's basically church for a lot of us. I'm looking forward to hearing more from you!

Thank y'all for your warm welcome. I was raised methodist, fell away for several years when I ventured off to college...mostly over the ET issue. But I was drawn back to the faith and joined the Episcopal Church. The priest at my pars
ish was very vocal about his universalist leanings and I found the parish very welcoming. I am otherwise a very traditional Anglo-catholic and find that universalism was the piece that made everything fit together for me. I also recently learn that yhe Polish National Catholic Church also embraced UR way back when it first formed. I'm interested in learning how that fits in a catholic christian worldview.

Thanks Dandelion! I really admire Lutheranism but ultimately chose Anglicanism because there was no local Lutheran Church near me and because I find less conflict with Universalism and 39 Articles than I do with the Augsurg Confession...If I remember correctly the Confession expressly denies that the unbaptized can enter heaven. This was problematic for me.

I doubt there's any group totally correct or accurate in all things.. So to me, it's focusing on worshiping with other believers for as long as that lasts..

Christian Universalism actually believes all will one day "believe" in Jesus, like the verses which say "every knee shall bow and every tongue will confess Jesus is Lord".. It is believed that no one can enter the Kingdom of God without having faith in Jesus.

But where does it really say, after death no hope? And where it's thought to say that, does it stand after examining it especially in the interlinear as to the translation from original words and context.. The only possible one I've found is when Jesus told the Pharisees "unless you repent you will die in your sins" - but all this means is they will rise (initially) still in their sins.. To claim that means no hope ever and eternal torment is to run with the verse and take it much further than the verse actually goes. The translators did this a LOT.. it's even in the interlinears to a degree and the lexicons and concordances.. Oy! :doh: :laughing7: (Kind of twilight zone.. they also insert 'forever' in some verses where there's no time word at all.. and where there is, leaving it out! :faint:
