Does This Mean God's Love Is Not Eternal

John 14:21- "He who has My commandments and keeps them is the one who loves Me; and he who loves Me will be loved by My Father, and I will love him and will disclose Myself to him."

If one does not love Christ the Father will not love him. Does that mean God's love is conditional on the love for Christ? Food for thought!

  Hi  James  hope this  is helpful to you as it has been for me ..  they cannot separated .

I have said this before  and will share it again , to KNOW God is to love Him , Many just do not know God , they cannot know Him without Jesus Christ being the way and truth and Life that leads us to the Father ....

  You cannot have one without the other   , The old testament testifies of the Son  , the new testament   testifies of the Father .

The Spirit of Truth with the Word of Truth    are in union   as ONE   .

  Eph 4 Unity in the Body

...4 There is one body and one Spirit, just as you were called to one hope when you were called;

5one Lord, one faith, one baptism; 6 one God and Father of all, who is over all and through all and in all....

Pretty UR if you ask me , God included us   in  the ONE  and ALL   as well .  :2c:

hmmm, how many keep His commandments ?..ie, to love others...very few....if our salvation depends on this we are ALL doomed....that's where Grace steps in.

My thoughts:

1. Just because I say "I love my family" it doesn't mean I don't love my friends, or enemies for that matter. So this passage says God loves those who love Jesus, it doesn't say God doesn't love, or God hates those who don't love Jesus.

2. Eventually all will turn to God and love him.

3. God is Love.  This is strong. It doesn't say "God loves" it says God IS Love. Something cannot also be its opposite. Ocean is water, it cannot also be fire.

To receive the full benefit of the love of Jesus Christ we have to kno Him, relate to Him, love Him- and as such we become children of God, entitled to benefits wonderful and diverse.

Yet we already kno that God loves everyone, "For God so loved the world...."

If God so loved the world that means His love is provided before full access and that all access to His love is not proof of our goodness but rather His grace, which is designed to lead us further and further in.

We also know that God causes the rain to fall on the just and the unjust. His mercies are new every morning. The heavens declare is handiwork.

There is something in religion that says something like, "Lets establish who God loves and forgives what will happen to those He doesnt love or forgive."

God loves everyone. Everything He has done is designed to lead us all, inevitably into deeper love. As we awaken, progressively, being drawn into ever deeper waters, we experience more and more the immeasurably glorious benefits of knowing Him, and our great satisfaction is show someone else the way, and to lend them a hand.

People who think God doesnt love some people and will never forgive multitudes.... they need a hand, they need to be led deeper, they need the veil pulled back, God have mercy on them and lead them out of that deception and darkness.  :Pray:
