I welcome all to my new forum at http://thatdayandhour.info/forum/index.php

The rules and yoke of the board is light.  I welcome End Times discussions, after all, Universal Salvation is the CORE of the END TIME and the Day of the Lord.  I welcome and encourage deep discussions into eschatology.

There is NO RESTRICTIONS on my site concerning the Gospel Message.  I will NOT be telling you that you can't preach that or this as it relates to the Gospel.  I'm not going to tell you that you have to be sensitive about telling the Truth.

I would believe that Tentmaker would also want us to participate as much as possible in other forums where we can interface with fellow brethren in Christ but this statement is not reflecting any endorsement by Tentmaker for my forum or website and are expressly mine.

I anticipate a lot of content coming up to be posted about many topics I have discussed here and many that haven't/cannot be discussed here.

I hope to see you there.

Take care..

Paul

One of the challenges of running a forum is, there are quite a few "experts" who believe they have settled on absolute truth.  Not just in things basic to the faith, but in whatever variety of topics they've settled on in their mind to be the absolute ONE way to view a subject.   The problem in a format like this is, probably many/most of us have such tendencies - to think we're right - and to want to cling tenaciously to that.   If not cooperatively tempered, that can lead to some pretty nasty stuff - contention, hurt, divisions, confusion.  Been there, done that, guilty.  We decided a long time ago to have certain things in place on the TM forums - with Gary's blessing and guidance - to not have that be the norm anymore.  If any particular individual - myself included - is unable or unwilling to abide by community standards, then starting one's own blog or forum may be one likely outcome.  It seems to make sense to live as peaceably in fellowship as possible, even if any one of us needs to make some adjustments to our personal preferences.  Otherwise, moving on to something else is probably the best option.   :2c:

Hi Music Lover, if you never get to hear an opinion then you may never know.  There are many now that are trying to quiet the Truth and it will only grow worse.

Right.

But, for the time being, we do not have all the truth. The best thing we can do is to learn discernment, to love others even in disagreement, and to have the mind of Christ. To put our anxiety and differences in Him, and to have His Spirit, from which we understand His Word and have life.

A forum for eschatology and all things bible prophecy, could be a really good thing.. If those good guidelines of 1 Corinthians 13 are followed... The thing is with discussion on bible prophecy is it's popular I think to talk about, so a forums purpose, I can see, could easily get flooded over..

The top message, to me, is Christian Universalism.. It's peace, it's joy.. ..don't you wish we could pour it out to others like dipping into a pail? "The truth will set them free"! And I consider last days understanding to be second in importance. Facebook has bible prophecy groups, but it's all meme this and meme that.. :dunno: I do a lot of talking to myself.. :laughing7: Also UR groups via memes too.. tentmaker forum rocks!

There is one truth, but many members of the body. There are differences of perspective, wisdom, humility and -importantly- function.

My discernment is that the dimension of truth claimed in boldness of words is frequently not met with wisdom, balance and understanding. Stomping around in the black and white of the letter holds no interest for me and does not win souls or illuminate seekers.

Everytime someone says "I have THE TRUTH and I will suffer no inspection or restraint of my claim"- I just roll down the shades and turn the porch light off because that is just arrogance. Period.

Also, this is not a fellowship hall where we can sit face to face for hours at a table with our Bibles open and thoroughly discuss oblique issues.

It is a functional portal on the web created to spread the Victorious gospel in a spirit of reconciliation.

Many teachers and preachers reject the Spirit of reconciliation and justify it in the name of the Spirit of truth, as if they were not both Him. They are not separate essences. He is the Spirit of Reconciliation and that is the Spirit of Truth. Sound doctrine, according to James, requires that the "seed whose fruit is righteousness is first pure, then peaceable, then easily entreated- full of "mercy and good fruits" because James understood that most strife arises out of ambition and is "earthly, soulish, demonic". Paul says this also, "The servant of the Lord must not strive but be patient towards all gently instructing them"

Thats truth, and SOLID DOCTRINE- and its RIGHT DOWN THE MIDDLE of the word of God, and bears witness in the conscience of seekers MORE LOUDLY than the cacaphony to "truthers/lawyers/prognosticators" in their strident tones.

Some folks split hairs over peripheral doctrine and obscure interpretation and refuse to be restrained in there pronouncements and others who see there error stay silent because they know it does kno good to grab a rabid  dog by the ears or a goat by it horns. The whole issue with personal agendas is they assume that "Their Truth" is more important than the purposes of the people they are seeking to subvert to their purpose because they are "more true" and "more importantly true".

Of course our tidy little purpose of seeking to maintain a pure simple place where people can learn by the gently flowing waters of Shiloah about the great and glorious gospel that Jesus died to save all is secondary in importance to all the grand arguments about eschatology and types and shadows and predestiny and choice and all these things that are so important that all these other sites argue over them incessantly.

Well, forgive me if I wax a little sarcastic but really, it not a fuzzy picture to me. All that other stuff just not why we are here at TM- and that is not to say those other sites dont have their purpose- iron sharpens iron and all that- but that is not what Tentmaker is about.

:gsmile: That's what the purpose and focus of tentmaker forum is.. to clearly proclaim the entire or full gospel.. which isn't acknowledged nor preached much.. But truth is glorious and sets free.. If the focus isn't maintained, the voice of that message will get drowned out by all the other topics which occupy most other Christian forums(?) Tentmaker is friendlier, more gentle than most.. I actually think some are falling into the temptation to "beat upon other members of the household" rather than "distribute meat in due season" (a Mt 24 admonition). I'm actually not sure of the goal of many other forums.. To me, all of them should be about truth -  if it's bible prophecy, it shouldn't be one opinion versus another.. but a mutual seeking to find and communicate truth concerning it.. all truth and nothing but..

Oh man.. now I've climbed up on a soap box.. I can't help it. I sure wish the body of Jesus could have a good, solid and cohesive message of salvation to pass along.. and when it comes to eschatology, I wish we would have a clear, down to earth and true message to pass along.. but I swear.. it just seems to be "I said / they said" - versus! - and in some forums.. bible prophecy or UR groups - I swear, some of the folks sound like they're on drugs! Make about as much sense as a toad..  Not only not useful but embarassing and a hindrance to ppl coming to faith. Sorry, is my cynicism showing? :sigh:
but at least I get to use this smiley :soap: So I'm happy if tentmaker keeps its focus on track.. hope you don't mind my saying so :mblush: :girlheart:

Yes, the truth of God saving all is why this site exists, and we try our best to keep the discourse related to that truth.
