I have established now that the 2nd Coming of Christ will be in 2040.

This is evidenced in the Jubilee count based on the 120 total Jubilees.

I have also evidenced this through Daniel's prophecy concerning the 2300 evenings and mornings in Chapter 8.

These both lead to year 2040.

Due to so many claiming a date, I know there will be skepticism.  That is GOOD.  But don't let skepticism cause you to outright discount what I'm saying.

Also, understand that the claims that we cannot know the date are not founded on a good study of the scriptures.   I have that study on my website as well.  I do not yet currently have the secondary evidence documented on my website but will soon.

Ask questions, be a skeptic, let's reason together thoughtfully.

Lemme start with stating I've studied this but never reached an airtight conclusion besides my date in 2016
My secondary conclusion is Jubilee based like yours.
If you plug 6000 years (120 jubliees) into 2040 then you also set the creation date (and other dates)

My thoughts on this...
If you only focus on the last Jubilee you are missing some key Jubilees in history.
But if you consider them your timing becomes problematic.

As a start I'll just make a few statements an take that as starting point for this thread...

Jubilee #1: Creation
Jubilee #20: Desolation (1000 years after creation)
Jubilee #40: Mt Sinai (2000 years after creation)
Jubilee #60: Don't know (3000 years after creation)
Jubilee #80: Some main event during Jesus' life (4000 years after creation)
Jubilee #100: Don't know (5000 years after creation)
Jubilee #120: Jesus returns (6000 years after creation)

For me Jubilee's being pivotal points in history feels obvious. Sets of 20 are 1000 years are 'days'.

Of course nothing above gives an accurate pinpointed date because even if we  could agree on the suggested system, we have to tie it to our calendar.
Is the 80th Jubilee His birth, His death, start of ministry?
If we could agree it's the start of His ministry we have to agree which year that was.
Etc.

But I believe the suggested framework can be good to check internal consistancy of your theory.
Example.
If you believe His ministry started 30AD then his return in 2030AD and that conflicts with 2040AD.
1 Timothy 2:3-4  ...God our Savior;  Who will have all men to be saved...
John 12:47  And if any man hear my words, and believe not, I judge him not: for I came not to judge the world, but to save the world.
Romans 4:5 But to the one who does not work, but believes in the one who declares the ungodly righteous ...

@whitewings,

Well we have to understand that the cycle is actually 49 years in counting.  Even though a Jubilee is 50 years, the 50th year is also the 1st year of the next cycle.

I believe that the year of Christ Crucifixion/Resurrection was the 80th Jubilee and believe that year was 31 AD.  A Jubilee is a Liberty and there is no greater liberty to date advertised than that of the Resurrection.  Additionally, all these former events of the Old Testament were schoolmasters leading us to Christ, therefore, we should be looking for a Jubilee in His Presence.

A mistake many make is that they forget there is no year 0.  Therefore, you have to take that into account in your math when calculating these events.

One thing that bothered me when first calculating these events is that if I go by the 49 year cycle count that it puts me 120 years shy of 6000 years.

The only explanation that I have is that God is cutting short the time by that much. There are verses that seem to indicate that He would cut short the time allotted due to transgression

I also want to mentioned that if you look at the Astronomy of 2040 at the time beginning the Feast of Trumpets (first new sliver of moonlight after the Fall equinox - Sept/Oct timeframe), you will see something that all astronomers will be talking about.

Another point that has to be resolved first.
31 + (49x40) =  31 + 1960 = 1991 AD (not 2040)

I'm very well aware of that, but it becomes only relevant when there is just a 1 year error and using BC years in the calculations

QuoteOne thing that bothered me when first calculating these events is that if I go by the 49 year cycle count that it puts me 120 years shy of 6000 years.
The other 'bad' thing is that a day is a 1000 years is 980 years.

That's true, but without proof by how much it can't be really used for much.

The year 1991 would be the first year of the last cycle of the 120.  2040 is the next Jubilee that would follow it.  Remember the 120 would be for man so if the 120th cycle started in 1991 then it is still "IN CYCLE" at this time and that cycle is the LAST CYCLE of the 120 Jubilees.

WhiteWings

So according to your view He doesn't return during the year the 120th jublilee, but dring the 49 year period that 120th Jubilee starts?

Isn't 2040 the start of the 121st jubilee?

I believe the whole 120 Jubilees are appointed to man and that includes  their cycle obviously. Therefore, 2040 would be in reality be a 121st Jubilee.

We have to remember that all 120 were given to man:

Gen 6:3  And the LORD said, My spirit shall not always strive with man, for that he also is flesh: yet his days shall be an hundred and twenty years.

So we have to include the 120th cycle into man's allocated years.

trettep

I also want to mention that the Exodus was a Jubilee as well. Using my date and how I calculate the Jubilee on the 49 cycle, you will also hit the Exodus at Jubilee 50 in 1440 BC.

Very interesting.. In the spirit of friendly conversation, let me get this out of the way first (before questions about the #'s)

1 - I'm not sure the 120 years given to man is a solid code for 120 jubilees, now I'm not saying it isn't.. just saying I don't know - the reason I find myself wondering about it, is of how folks take the "1000 years to the LORD seems like a day" as a code for every day in prophecy is 1000 days - some may be.. but I have to think there are countings of days closer to the event.. In relation to the "Second Coming". In Revelation alone I know there are 3.5 centuries, 3.5 years and 3.5 days..

2 - I am not completely sure there is a secondary fulfillment to Revelation chapter 12 (also mentioned in this thread). I think it's a strong possibility, because of the parallel nature of prophecy (telescopic nature).
- Reading Rev 12 straightforward as a great sign --> a virgin conceives.. Is easy.
I'm not saying it's impossible that twelve stars won't align in the heavens astronomically.. But I'm not sure of it yet.. God has not said by nudge, yes.. so true. (Verily.) But I love running through the chapter as straightforward.. wow.. It's all there, a whole history. Herod the Great, the inquisitions, the mayflower.. (Yes.) I hate to see any miss it and, all do. (But that's ok, truth stands.)

But! The 2300 is one number I've not discovered the formula it is!

So let me get this straight - 120 X 50 = 6000 years..  I'm with you so far!

Daniel 8
- 13 Then I heard a holy one speaking; and another holy one said to that certain one who was speaking, "How long will the vision be, concerning the daily sacrifices and the transgression of desolation, the giving of both the sanctuary and the host to be trampled underfoot?"
- 14 And he said to me, "For two thousand three hundred days; then the sanctuary shall be cleansed."

(6.3 [hebrew] years literal) The 2300 is 260 BCE? (I'm lost? oR am I on the right track?)
[I have thought somewhere around 2030/40 for other reasons.]

In reference to the 2300 years in Daniel 8, let me explain how that fits with the year 2040.

First the verses:

Dan 8:13  Then I heard one saint speaking, and another saint said unto that certain saint which spake, How long shall be the vision concerning the daily sacrifice, and the transgression of desolation, to give both the sanctuary and the host to be trodden under foot?
Dan 8:14  And he said unto me, Unto two thousand and three hundred days; then shall the sanctuary be cleansed.

Now the prophecy starts with the beginning of the vision which is when Alexander the Great defeats Darius the King of Persia in 331 BC.

But the verses are talking about the 2300 days in the context of 2300 evenings and mornings.

I believe they are not contiguous in referring to years.  So the period to me is 2300 non contiguous years (I say this in reference to the higher fulfillment).

I believe the phrase for being trodden under foot means that if the "host" (Jerusalem) is not under sovereign control by the Jews.  Therefore, when the host or the sanctuary are not under sovereign control by Jews should be counted as the years of the 2300 years.

Now back to what Marie Glen post about the 260 BC.  That number is what you get when you go back from 2300 - 2040 = 260. So we know that would put us in BC.  331 - 260 = 71.  However, we have to remove 1 year because there is no year 0.

Therefore we fall 70 years short where the Jews MUST have been in control of the sanctuary and the host (Jerusalem).  That occurred in during the Hasmonean Dynasty.  For those that haven't read Maccabees 1 & 2, please read it (especially book I).

There is a pivotal verse in book 1 that says:

1Ma_13:41  Thus the yoke of the heathen was taken away from Israel in the hundred and seventieth year.

(please note the 170 year in the verse above is the year into the Greek Kingdom and not BC).

From that time to the time that Roman lays siege of Jerusalem is the 70 years.  This puts you to 2040 for the return of  Christ:

(330BC - 70) + 2040 = 2300

or

2300 - (330BC - 70) = 2040

The ram and goat fight. The one horned goat wins.
The two horned goat = Kings of Mede and Persia.
Goat = king of Greece = Alexander the great.
The horn breaks off --> Alexander the Great dies in Nebuchadnezzar II's palace in the evening of 10/11 June  323 BC
His kingdom gets divided among his 4 generals in  323/322BC --> 4 little horns.

Alexander's war against Persia (Darius III) started in October 1, 334BC (preparations started earlier)
Click

2300 days is 2300 years.
October 1, 334BC + 2300 +1 (no year zero) = October 1, 1967

During the 6-day, 5-10 June 1967 war 50 Jewish soldiers captured the Temple Mount. Notice the significance of 6 and 50.
The 50 soldiers held a  Jubilee prayer on the spot.
Their commander, Sholomo Goren blew the shofar (liberation)
Shlomo = Solomon
Goren = Threshing floor
David bough the threshing floor on which king Solomon built the Temple.

In 70AD the Jews lost control over the Temple Mount and nearly 2000 years later they regained it. Time of Gentiles ended?

A mysterious English speaking man joined the soldiers and showed them the exact locations of Altar, Holies of Holies, etc.
He ordered them to rebuild the 3rd Temple on that spot.
Then the person was literally blown away by the wind. (chaff blown away?)

6 years later Arab states led by Egypt and Syria attacked Israel from October 6 to 25, 1973. The Yom Kippur war.

Holy days:

October 1, 1967 - None
5-10 June 1967 - None
October 6 to 9, 1973 - None
October 10 to 17, 1973 - Sukkot = Feast of Tabernacles
October 18, 1973 - Shemini Atzeret = The 8th day of Assembly
October 19, 1973 - Simchat Torah = Rejoicing the Torah
October 20 to 25, 1973 - None

I wonder who the man that was blown away, was.
Dan 8:15 ?

Some other key dates:
1917 - Balfour declaration, Great Britain declared support for a Jewish nation.1947 - Israel founded1967 - 6 day war2017 - Star sign of woman giving birth. Revelation 12

1917+50=1967  →50 is a Jubilee cycle1967+50=2017 → Star sign of Revelation 123BC + 2000* = 1997 → No idea what the significance of this date is.1947+50=1997  → No idea what the significance of this date is.

331 was the defeat of Darius at the Battle of Gaugamela.

Additionally, the Hasmonian Dynasty was a period when the Temple was in Service and the yoke of Jerusalems enemies broken.  That would throw off the 2300 years in for those believing in a 1967 fulfillment since the Temple and the Host would be trodden down for the 2300 years.

I see everyone trying to use 1967 for the 2300 years.  It just doesn't fit.  Everyone should understand this for the obvious reason that the modern state of Israel has nothing to do with the true Jerusalem under the Christian era.

I can't help thinking if there's a heavenly sign, and I see no reason to doubt it, but I can't help thinking it will align with the straight forward reading of the chapter..(?) ..The last verse of Rev chapter 12 says ..the woman, the faith, has flown away, via eagle wings (let freedom ring!) to a new place, but the dragon spew a flood after her about 3.5 divisions of time later.. but the earth will help the woman, and will swallow the flood..

Earth will, swallow the flood.. (tell yer grandkids!?) Then the dragon.. angry once again - so what's new? Goes off to make war.

Make war with the rest of the faith's children.. "Oh Jerusalem! you will not see Me again.. until you say 'blessed is He, Who comes in the name of the LORD!'.." ..Goes off to make war with the rest of her seed.. Of the virgin who conceived.. A great sign..

12:17 - And the dragon was enraged with the woman, and he went to make war with the rest of her offspring, who keep the commandments of God and have the testimony of Jesus Christ.

Regarding the flood:

Rev 12:15  And the serpent cast out of his mouth water as a flood after the woman, that he might cause her to be carried away of the flood.
Rev 12:16  And the earth helped the woman, and the earth opened her mouth, and swallowed up the flood which the dragon cast out of his mouth.
Rev 12:17  And the dragon was wroth with the woman, and went to make war with the remnant of her seed, which keep the commandments of God, and have the testimony of Jesus Christ.

The flood is lies/deception. The Earth is all those that were deceived.  The Woman is the True believers (the very elect).  Therefore, Serpent goes after the other candlesticks that God found disfavor with.

It doesn't fit your theory. But it does fit other theories.
I could for example claim the restoration starts with God collecting Israel in one spot from exile.
I could for example claim that's supported by the 50 year Jubilee cycles between key events in modern Israel's rebirth.

Yeah, I'm very well aware you will disagree with each and every point because both dates and Jubilee duration conflict with your model.

You also mention an astronomical event in 2040. I'm not sure what, but you connect it to a first crescent. Not sure what you intend to say by that but my guess is it has to do with new month. In that case we have another disagreement.

So... it's highly unlikely we wil agree  :2c:

Let me say it is a fact. Really it's 100% sure the stars align.

BUT....

While a certain alignment takes place on a certain date, we still can't say with 100% certainty that the Bible was pointing to that alignment. Perhaps it points to something else. Some claim that the alignment takes/took place on a certain Festival day. To make that claim one has to be 100% sure to know the correct calendar God uses. It also demands an accuracy of a day. I checked but never found that to be true. Some say "See it's only 2 days of the Feast of ...., pretty good". But I say, pretty bad because I believe God's schedule is accurate, not 'pretty good'.

As an example lets assume 120 years points to exactly 6000 years. Is that Biblical fact useful?
Not really because:
- Do we really know with great accuracy when creation was?
- Do we really know the count started with Adam instead of Abram or Moses? If with Adam, did he count start at creation or when he got booted out of the garden of eden?

So we need additional bits of proof to pinpoint things. And that's not as simple as it sounds.
I can easily debunk everything trettep wrote and is going to write. But that's not what I'll do.
I started my first post with stating I did similar calculations myself and depending on the model used the results are different.
So I debunked my own stuff so to speak.

So... I'm open for new input to improve my own studies. I'll continue reading this thread. It might give me new insight. But as long as things like 2040 and Jubilee is 49 years* are seen as absolute facts, there is little to discuss.

*=not just the number but what it means. For example if the spirit is with man for 2 years is that 2x49= 98 years or 1+49=50 years? The years reference to a Jubilee year, not a Jubilee cycle. So the last Jublilee is exactly that, the last Jubilee.
To complicate things even more it doesn't say things end on that Jubilee. The end can follow several years after that Jubilee. So at best it gives a timespan in which things will end.

331 was the defeat of Darius at the Battle of Gaugamela.
And a few years earlier the start of it.

QuoteAdditionally, the Hasmonian Dynasty was a period when the Temple was in Service and the yoke of Jerusalems enemies broken.  That would throw off the 2300 years in for those believing in a 1967 fulfillment since the Temple and the Host would be trodden down for the 2300 years.
But why? The reason you say so is that you required a few extra years to fit your theory.
That's even ignoring your Jubilee cycle is 49 years theory.

QuoteI see everyone trying to use 1967 for the 2300 years.  It just doesn't fit.  Everyone should understand this for the obvious reason that the modern state of Israel has nothing to do with the true Jerusalem under the Christian era.

Simple question for you:  Was Jerusalem trodden under foot the entire 2300 years from 334 BC then?

Tretep, it is time to let the disagreement go. The answer to your question is not of high value to the goals of this board anyway. There are other places where these issues are discussed and that is where such a discussion should be held. The resolutions of the mysteries presented in scripture vary according to perspective sometimes. Sometimes someone is describing the temple "from the west" another "from the east" another, "from their own imagination". Regardless, since there is no scenario in this forum where someone will present absolute proof of one view over another, sometimes we must simply agree to disagree and move on to other, more relevant to the subject at hand(salvation of all) territory.

What are you even talking about?

I believe in his previous post WW suggested that it was time to agree to disagree.

But so that everyone will kno what I am talking, I am posting the following around on a few threads today, just to get the focus in reminder.

It is possible, even when we disagree heartily on things, to discuss them. The key is that according to the rules of the forum, we ought to discuss them in a collegial (friendly and intelligible) manner, and the discussion must be hinged within the scriptures.

Speculations can be voiced, but not prophecied.....discussed but not declared, etc- because we arent here to resolve all the mysteries about which Christians have divided for thousands of years, altho resolving those mysteries is a worthy pursuit per each individual on the journey of truth.

Establishing the fact that the salvation of all is a foundation doctrine of Jesus Christ and His apostles is the real function of the board, so while (I think) we allow pretty loose reigns in discussing peripheral doctrine, there will never be room for debating, declaring and prophecying concerning them- not because that is a bad thing to do in general- but because it runs contrary to the core purpose of the forum, which is to provide a scripturally sound environment where people can learn about the salvation of all without being affronted concerning other dubious(to you or me)things they embrace. People will not accept our message if we try to reorient their beliefs on everything in one bite from varying perspectives held by the more active people on the board.

So it is never personal, nor is it generally judgmental(saying whether you are "right" or "wrong")- it is about maintaining an atmosphere conducive to our purpose- a purpose I think most of us generally share and understand.

That doesnt mean that when it comes to foundations, moderators will not say, at times, "This runs seriously contrary to our understanding of scripture and we will not allow you to teach it here". We will do that on occasion- it doesnt make us right but it does keep the parameters of the site in view- to teach the salvation of all in a concrete, rather than oblique, way....because that is a task that can be accomplished reasonably without departing from the pure milk of the Word.

I am posting this around on a few threads today to avoid longer conversations and to make sure it gets seen. Peace to all. :o)
