Perhaps mI can save some time and make sure I'm not going to get booted for challenging some doctrines I hold onto. Universal salvation is one of my fav topics.
The trinity is not a biblical doctrine and mentioning it got me booted for posting this single verse that destroys the trinity. There is God, there the Holy Spirit and there is Christ and all three beings are the only ones to come from the 3rd heaven.
Old earth creation is another topic I like.
I saw the thread about Revelations and I might do a quick summation for my 2nd post
I'm not new to theology as I have been flipping though the Bible for about 30 years.

Hi.  No you won't get banned for those beliefs.  Just remember to post them (and any) in a conversational, "IMO, as I understand, I believe" tone and all should be OK :)   There may be variations presented, even disagreement, etc., but always done conversationally so further discussion can occur.

Polite works for me as that is one of many forms of distraction that take away from the topic of the thread. My POv is based on the book being the work of God who used 40 Scribes rather than God is a character in a book written by men. One of the core differences I have (that has gotten me labeled as a heretic so often I was beginning to think it was a term of endearment rather than what it really means, lol)
I also tend to promote the ones best equipped to understand the whole book are the ones mentioned in Re:1 as that generation will see the return and certain elements that are required have been fulfilled IMO. Daniel was short some text and the writer of Revelation would have gotten the whole plan exposed and we can follow that because we can use an e-bible with the 1611KJV text to flip through the book in study mode rather than reading it like a novel. By study I mean taking terms like 'day of the lord. and formulate a summation of what the 24 passages that use that term means when all of them are referenced before any conclusion is reached.

I even promote that Ge:1-3 and Re:20-22 can be used to summarize who God is what this earth is all about and what does the final chapter look like. The rest of the book is all about Ge:3:15 and the prophecies and events that set up the start of the completion of those two bruises. The cross was the completion of all things associated with the bruise to the heel and the prophecies not fulfilled are associated with the other bruise and the details are sequenced in Revelations.

It includes lots of references in the Bible so I hope that adds validity to how my version goes. It is not a conversion thing as the feedback I get is to see if I have missed something

God is such a cool topic I can talk about His book at length. Hope people here can take on some longer posts as a literal version sometimes needs a bit of an intro to show the post is in context. In those ones that I have run into I find if I post nmy question/thought as soon as it is there is better than trying to reply to the whole post as one explanation is easier to handle that a handful all at once. I'm recently retired rather than I'm a religious fanatic. Your call in the end, lol.

Hi again.  Not sure what you mean by the above, we may very well be on the same page but speaking a little different language.  Could you clarify please? Ah, communication in black and white.  :laughing7:

Being clear, we do encourage politeness, but more than that, that we not declare our own interpretations, insights, opinions to sound as if they're an absolute with no room for any other view, "no questions asked", i.e., no room for discussion without an argument or bumping heads.  So we encourage - require - discussion rather than declaration (save the very most basics of the faith the Bible is crystal clear on for anyone to see - such as Jesus, Savior of the world;  God gave His only begotten Son, etc., etc.).  But things like interpretation of 144,000, pre/postmillennium, Trinity, etc (anything in scripture left to interpretation/revelation) are to be presented, again, "as I understand, I believe, to me,  :2c:" ..because well documented here, otherwise, can lead to either unacceptable disputes, or people not feeling free to post since there may appear to be no room for other opinion/input.  Thanks.

I think I figured out what you meant.  Thanks.   :laughhand:

Some of the 'christian only' chat sites I have come across turned into a bunch of trolls if you didn't believer everything they promoted. Being a universalist only I don't see that as happening very often , if at all. They are more entertainment than they are frightening. So far all is good.

Sounds like a winning combination. My only worry is my typing skill will still suck no matter how many words I type.

Ah, I've seen worse typing skills than yours lol.

Just an observation and a question. So far I like the site as the thread topic in just about all the Bible section is worth looking and an most thread titles are something I have 'an opinion on' before I even click any buttons. That means I could probably supply quite a few replies to the OP even though they are years old.

The other was it seems like everybody vanished a year ago or so, rapture? Not. That is one reason I thought of replying to a lot of 'dead threads' as it is a quick way to explain my version as it will have similarities and some differences.

The book is so specific in what happens that there is little of my opinion and a lot of reading that should be taken on face value as that is what it is meant to be taken as unless it is specified it is a vision or a parable.
