What is it?

hi! ..the woman in the book of revelation, I believe, drinks the cup of God's wrath/the consequences she has piled up.. I believe it is the same cup she holds in her hands.. I can't help but see, when I read Rev chapters 17 and 18, and see the greek word translated "harlot" is "pornos" and "to sell". And I can see in the days of my own lifetime, how the marketplace embraced a spirit of harlotry.. a seduction and enchantment in order to sell the list of products listed - how she made the merchants wealthy -  and the kings (politicians) are in bed with her - I believe she ends up making all 7 continents (hills) drink of her cup.. come out of her my people.. lest you drink her cup .. male and female..

Revelation 12 (vs 15?) speaks of the serpent (mode/guise of the dragon) spews out a flood (proliferation) after the woman, the faith - by now the focus being christianity, until the last verse of that chapter (an insert, like chapter 13, a complete history on its own) - the serpent spews a flood (proliferation?) after the woman/faith in an effort to wash her away from off the earth.. (It worked pretty well actually. The "false prophet" and strong delusion "went before" paving the way.. together brought about the great falling away.)

She.. the harlot - man's empire(s) going global - shakes her fist at Yahweh.. "her sins have reached the heavens".. "I will..."

Cup, to me, equals consequences.. The cup Jesus drank.. was because of humanity's sins..

and behemoth] for those who received the mark of the beast could not live.  man without understanding is as the beast that perisheth.

If a man suspects that his wife or his betrothed has cheated on him, the man takes the woman to the high priest. The high priest writes the suspected sins of the woman on a piece of paper whether it be her fornications or her adulteries. Then the high priest takes a cup and he runs water over the paper where he has written her fornications and adulteries and they wash off of the paper into the cup. The high priest picks up some dirt off the temple floor and puts it in the cup so that the Earth and the water testifies.

Don't know why but this reminded me of when the Pharisees brought the woman who was caught in adultry to Jesus and he wrote on the ground. I have often wondered why and what he wrote, now I know why. I have heard others say he wrote the names of some of the Pharisees. Don't know. :dunno2:

Eventually All will stand in this Day.

Arise and Shine for Thy Light has come and the Glory of the Lord is risen upon you.

Therefore walk as children of the Day.

Yes, we are all vessels and yet there is still a lot to say about the cups we must drink, and that is what I am trying to figure out, the differences between the cups. There is a cup a woman must drink by the law if she is suspected of adultery and there are the cups of all kinds with different meanings and that is what has been rolling around in my head for a week. I get on something and obsess with it lol.

Cups at Passover


Kaddesh and the first cup.

During the Kaddesh, the first of four cups of wine is blessed and drunk. This first cup of wine is called the cup of sanctification. Before the wine is drunk, a blessing is recited: "Blessed are You, L-rd our G-d, King of the Universe, who creates the fruit of the vine."

The Maggid concludes with the second cup of wine, which is called the cup of wrath.

At the conclusion of Barech, the blessing for wine is recited over the third cup. Then the cup is drunk. This is the cup of redemption (Luke 22:20; l Corinthians 10:16).

Psalms 115-118 are chanted in special praise to G-d. The fourth cup is now filled, and a door is opened for Elijah to enter and proclaim the coming of Messiah.

To me, these cups at Passover teach us a progressive walk a person would begin in coming our of Egypt and Jesus is the true vine from which these cups are filled in a person.

I think the spirit of Elijah comes to all people who begin their walk as coming out of Egypt and just as Israel went back and forth through many trials, so too is our walk, and the reason for these different cups to drink until Elijah would come.

Elijah must come first and he must have his head cut off.

42 of Elijah, half of a 7 year walk.

But then I am to the opinion that the two witnesses are in everyone, the blood, and the water and these came from two cups.

There are two cups built into the alter and at the feast of Tabernacles 3 great procession ensue where one group gathered thousands of willow branches, another group went out to collect the water, and another group came with the wine.

As people are shouting in joy saying," Save now," the water and the wine is poured into the two cups on the alter and there are holes in the bottom of the cups where the water and wine spill out onto the earth as a witness.

These two cups on the alter represent the blood and water that was spilled out of Jesus in the very same way. He was pierced as the cups are pierced and a bride was taken from his body, the blood and water itself.

Now see how they relate to Genesis Day one through four

Day one - sanctification - the separation (setting apart) of the light from the darkness
Day two - wrath (discipline, correction, not punishment) - correcting us in what is from above and what is from below
Day three - redemption - the earth now produces plants out of the dry (earth)
Day four - door opened - heavenly lights are revealed to rule both day and night

This is very simplistic, but you know there is always more

My idea of drinking from a cup, as I understood it from Biblical readings, is to, pardon my Bronx vernacular, 'buy into it'.  Or, if you prefer, we 'throw our hat, into the ring'. 

In other words, when we drink from a cup, it is a way of accepting what is put in front of us....it is a mutual, unspoken contract, between us and all who drink of the cup with us.

We are joined.....we believe and accept something similar. We acknowledge that we are a piece of some whole.

There are implications of it being a transforming experience. That which the cup and its contents represent, become part of who we are.

It is warmth and friendship/family and alliance and commitment. It is a fellowship......deep, mutual, and to be taken seriously. It does not represent something temporary, but more of a way of life. Implications of duty and mission to be carried out are also implied.

For me, the image of the Last Supper, is very telling of 'drinking of the cup'. And, then, to see the parallel between that and the Passover Seder.

I am not familiar with the cup the woman who committed adultery must drink. I need to become more familiar with Revelations.

The churches I have gone to, for the great majority, spoke little about Revelations. What I know, I learned through Christian radio, books, and speaking to people.

Revelation chapter 12 is an amazing chapter (as are all the books of the bible of course).. I think it is an entire (and obvious?) history all on its own (and an insert, as is chapter 13).

Look.. a woman (nation) clothed with the sun with 12 stars.. she gives birth to the manchild (Son of man) whom the dragon - in the person of Herod the Great, tried to devour but He is caught up to God's throne - where He now sits on the right hand of God.. ("This is the decree - You are My beloved Son" - our life, is in Jesus :smile: )

And the dragon becomes enraged and pursues the woman (razes Jerusalem and the temple - 70 a.d.) but the woman/the faith, now the mantle of the faith worn by 'christianity', flees - in large part to europe, it seems to me..

There's war in heaven and no longer is the dragon tolerated, allowed access to heaven... He is again enraged and fiercely persecutes (inquisitions) the faith.. but she is given the two wings of an eagle that she may fly (sail?) to a new place where she is kept safe from the face of the dragon for 3.5 divisions of time.. after which is vomited after her a flood (proliferation, by the serpent guise of the dragon) in order to try and wash her off the face of the earth - which btw, is proceeding very well as far as the world system is concerned.

But the earth will open its mouth and swallow the flood - (drought coming? cross ref- Luke 23:28,31).

And then the dragon will turn his attention (more fully) back upon the woman's other children who have the commandments of God and (by now/then?) the testimony of Jesus. Cross-ref  - Mt 23:39 "you will not see Me again" (Jerusalem) "until you say 'blessed is He who comes in the name of the LORD".. and Paul's writing "If Israel's falling away is salvation to the gentiles, then what shall their gathering" (to the Lord) "be, but life from the dead?" (Resurrection, the first, at Jesus's return.) And also, cross-ref, Rev 16:14-16 "And they gathered to armageddon" ("When you see Jerusalem surrounded by armies.." And the angel calls to the birds of midheaven" the birds of prey which fly higher than the little birds..)

When man's ways crash and burn (as they always do, but once more on a global scale, imo) :upset:

Then the world will know that Yahweh rules.. "The LORD alone will be exalted in that day".

The harlot in Re:17 has several traits that do define who it is. She also seem the be the 'daughter' of a king from Da:11. That supports the theory that Da:11 is the chapter that covers the iron/clay kingdom from the vision in Da;2. It also tells us that 'her father' is Satan as that is who the red dragon is and he is the falling start in the 5th trump and that would make the other king the Beast from the Pit which makes all of Da:11 fits in with the 42 months that the Beast is given to rule again on the earth. It was a king before the flood of water.

And in the end of years they shall join themselves together;
for the king's daughter of the south shall come to the king of the north to make an agreement:
but she shall not retain the power of the arm;
neither shall he stand,
nor his arm:
but she shall be given up,
and they that brought her,

Amen MHz. Usually folks seem to miss the iron/clay kingdom as relating to the Book of Revelation.. "as the toes of the feet were partly of iron and partly of clay" - ten toes, ten kings/divisions in the "last hour".

Amen, Rose the ten kings (divisions? of the big/world beast/body) will devour the harlot.. who made the merchants wealthy and the politicians (kings) are in bed with her.. The merchants and all who trade (in John's day by sea) will weep when she falls (crashes?) in one hour and falls in a day.. will weep because no one buys their long list of merchandise anymore, from necessities to luxuries, and right down to the souls and bodies of humans.. (sex slave trade!?) In her is found all blood shed on earth.. her forehead (psyche?) being Mystery Babylon / Mystery Babble / all confusion and error?

The last days world body (beast) will hate the harlot (capitalism / gone extreme?) and will devour her - use up her resources? Finally destroying her. Socialism (in its original sense of communism and rule of man as 'god'/the state, not social awareness) will finally destroy capitalism..? The dove harnessing the vulture to attain its agenda? (Rev 20:4d)

P.S. - MHz, the second beast of Rev chapter 13 (verses 11-18) I believe 13:13 pinpoints an office, not an individual.. and I believe it already occurred.. but so big no one seems to see it? (Like the false prophet, most seem to think is the same as the 'little' beast / 2nd beast of Rev 13.. but it was the first question, or rather, answer which came back to me when I prayed to understand bible prophecy and signs of the times.. Came to me as a question back in the 80's? "what is the strongest force at work upon mankind today?" (not yesteryear, but today, was implied/included(?).. And into my mind came :idea2: lightbulb! the theory of evolution (as to origins) - which I now therefor think of as the false prophet/teacher/teaching which has caused/is causing Western Civilization, once called Christendom, to fall away from the faith.. the great falling away?

Some folks think the big beast, the little beast and the false prophet are all basically the same.. But I think their thinking is still in yesteryear's fulfillments - The 'empire' in John's day being Rome.

And.. also in Nebuchadnezzar's dream (statue) the gold of babylon is the head.. then there's the media-persia (glittery, mystical) silver.. then the bronze of Greece, then the Iron of Rome.. And notice the 4th beast of Daniel chapter 7 (verses 7 & 19) has ten horns like the beast (world beast/body) of Revelation 13:1-10, so it's likely the same one.

But in Daniel 7, verse 19 - "Then I wished to know the truth about the fourth beast, which was different from all the others, exceedingly dreadful, with its teeth of iron and its nails of bronze, which devoured, broke in pieces, and trampled the residue with its feet"

What is said to be Roman/Graeco based? Western Civilization with its Roman senates, courts, politics, architecture and its Greek drama, humanist philosophy-with which it "tramples the residue"? not subdued by the iron, breaks, scatters with the bronze, tramples and scatters nations with the (Greek) secular humanism?

Iron teeth... iron/Roman columns?

[Have you noticed the seals? especially the 6th, how they are described as a blend of what they are at their very first and what they are at full maturity at the very 'end'? The horse's ride representing progression.. (of the seals / elements of the latter age, the years of our Lord, A.D. It's a fascinating book! A puzzle, a riddle, a grand production.. and orchestra. And important, blessed are those who hear and heed. I'm still a little fuzzy on some of the timing and about the two witnesses. But I think the Philadelphia 'church' (of brotherly love) will know signs of the times.]

Amen MHz. Usually folks seem to miss the iron/clay kingdom as relating to the Book of Revelation.. "as the toes of the feet were partly of iron and partly of clay" - ten toes, ten kings/divisions in the "last hour".

The vision and explanation in Re:17 covers the 'toes' and when meshed with the vision and explanation of the 4th beast in Da:7 is a connection that can not be denied. Da:11 and the events Revelation has is also there, just not as apparent as the visions are. One solid connection that help connect it is these verses.

Da:11:32:
And such as do wickedly against the covenant shall he corrupt by flatteries:
but the people that do know their God shall be strong,
and do exploits.

Da:7:25:
And he shall speak great words against the most High,
and shall wear out the saints of the most High,
and think to change times and laws:
and they shall be given into his hand until a time and times and the dividing of time.

Re:11:3:
And I will give power unto my two witnesses,

These are the two olive trees,

And when they shall have finished their testimony,
the beast that ascendeth out of the bottomless pit shall make war against them,
and shall overcome them, and kill them.
And their dead bodies shall lie in the street of the great city,
which spiritually is called Sodom and Egypt,
where also our Lord was crucified.
And they of the people and kindreds and tongues and nations shall see their dead bodies three days and an half,
and shall not suffer their dead bodies to be put in graves.
