Pretty flamin' hot stuff.
Purifies the flesh from the spirit and emphasises the power which we become in the resurrection.
Mentioned a few times so must be significant.
Fellow brother in Christ

 :thumbsup: yep.. the sense is earthly tribulations.. not an afterlife called hell.. And the 'end' days fiery scenario.. i think is man's doings.. Jesus coming with fire, I believe is 'metaphor' or, sort of poetic language. Although I don't think the Father or the Son can be said to be kept out of something.. Hence He directly or indirectly causes the consequences - A natural law, to reap what you sow..

The servants are being refined by being alive in the earth for the 1,000 year and the ones sent to hell by Christ's sword are refined in a not so gentle manor. What the servant are taught in that time is what they will teach the other ones once their punishment ends.

Isa:65:12-15:
Therefore will I number you to the sword,
and ye shall all bow down to the slaughter:
because when I called,
ye did not answer;
when I spake,
ye did not hear;
but did evil before mine eyes,
and did choose that wherein I delighted not.
Therefore thus saith the Lord GOD,
Behold,
my servants shall eat,
but ye shall be hungry:
behold,
my servants shall drink,
but ye shall be thirsty:
behold,
my servants shall rejoice,
but ye shall be ashamed:
Behold,
my servants shall sing for joy of heart,
but ye shall cry for sorrow of heart,
and shall howl for vexation of spirit.
And ye shall leave your name for a curse unto my chosen:
for the Lord GOD shall slay thee,
and call his servants by another name:

Yes, the other name "Christian"... how the Father would make Israel jealous by a nation that is no nation.. the gentiles.. goyum..

And Jerusalem was destroyed..

we who are alive and remain until the coming of the Lord will by no means precede those who are asleep. 16 For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of an archangel, and with the trumpet of God. And the dead in Christ will rise first. 17 Then we who are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And thus we shall always be with the Lord (1 Thess 4:15-17)

And they live and reign with Christ for a thousand years. This is the first resurrection. 5 But the rest of the dead did not live again until the thousand years were finished. We believers during this lifetime, having been in the refiner's crucible / salted with fire, during this carnal lifetime.. (Rev. 20:4,5)

7 Now when the thousand years have expired, Satan will be released from his prison 8 and will go out to deceive the nations which are in the four corners of the earth, Gog and Magog, to gather them together to battle, whose number is as the sand of the sea... And fire came down from God out of heaven and devoured them... (Rev 20:7,8)

11 Then (after the 1000 years have expired) I saw a great white throne and Him who sat on it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away. And there was found no place for them. 12 And I saw the dead, small and great, standing before God

So the pharisees, whom Jesus told if they did not repent they would die in their sins.. So it is obvious they will rise istill in their sins in this 2nd resurrection - if the one at His return is the first resurrection, it stands to reason the one "after the thousand years has ended" is a second resurrection. Believers were all raised in the first one at His return and "reigned with Him during those thousand years".

So those pharisees on judgment 'day' will (imo) see those come from east and west, etc, and recline at meal with Abraham, Isaac and Jacob.. but they will be in the outer darkness - in the OT feast days.. torches brightly lit, warmth of the feast.. to be outside the feast in the outer darkness.. "It will be more tolerable for Sodom and Gomorrah on Judgment Day than for you.." .."The queen of the south, on Judgment Day will rise up to condemn this generation who rejected Him, for a greater than Solomon is here.."

I think it's common for many folks to think of the resurrection of all those not saved during this brief lifetime, to think our Heavenly Father who is love and love never fails, will wake them from their sleep of death to pronounce sentence and throw them into the lake of fire.. But I think the lake of fire is concurrent with the 'day' of judgment, because "all" death is thrown into the lake of fire at end of judgment 'day'.. along with any total hard cases who still would not be drawn to Jesus who said "I will draw all to me".. So worse case scenario, if there is a human who cannot be drawn to Jesus during judgment 'day' and they go to the 2nd death as a lake of fire (refiner's crucible) they will be drawn to Jesus therein for Jesus said He would draw all to Him..

In Revelation 22. speaking of ones outside the city.. I believe is a poetic way of saying those outside the kingdom anytime before the Tabernacling of God upon Earth made new with man.. Has to be before Yhvh becomes "all in all" or He would not then be "all in all" - if a corner of the universe somewhere is full of languishing ones undergoing torment and agony in fire for ever and ever..  "All in all" strongly suggests Christian Universalism or the annihilation of all those rejecting Him. But who in their right mind will reject Him once they realize the full facts.. Or is it possible God, who is a "righteous judge" (is love and al-mighty) would condemn and sentence folks without ever repeal when they never knew they could instead follow Jesus..
    :Peace2: God bless! great verses!

I would put it slightly different because of the wording in my references

The prophecy and the list is shortened a bit to save space.

Jeremiah:25:15-18:
For thus saith the LORD God of Israel unto me;
Take the wine cup of this fury at my hand,
and cause all the nations,
to whom I send thee,
to drink it.
And they shall drink,
and be moved,
and be mad,
because of the sword that I will send among them.
Then took I the cup at the LORD's hand,
and made all the nations to drink,
unto whom the LORD had sent me:
To wit,
Jerusalem,
and the cities of Judah,
and the kings thereof,
and the princes thereof,
to make them a desolation,
an astonishment,
an hissing,
and a curse;
as it is this day;

Jeremiah:25:26:
And all the kings of the north,
far and near,
one with another,
and all the kingdoms of the world,
which are upon the face of the earth:

and the king of Sheshach shall drink after them.

Jeremiah:25:29:
For,
lo,
I begin to bring evil on the city which is called by my name,
and should ye be utterly unpunished?
Ye shall not be unpunished:
for I will call for a sword upon all the inhabitants of the earth,
saith the LORD of hosts.

Jeremiah:25:32-33:
Thus saith the LORD of hosts,
Behold,
evil shall go forth from nation to nation,
and a great whirlwind shall be raised up from the coasts of the earth.
And the slain of the LORD shall be at that day from one end of the earth even unto the other end of the earth:
they shall not be lamented,
neither gathered,
nor buried;
they shall be dung upon the ground.

God allows Satan to claim Jerusalem as his capital city, Babylon,  for the duration the two witnesses are in the grave and on the same day they are resurrected the 7 vials get poured out and everything associated with Satan is destroyed.

There are lots of flood stories out but then the ocean has risen 450 ft so there should be lots of them that are slightly different. Judgment stories would all be based on Jeremiah using Ezekiel's wheel to actually visit those locations and give them the prophecy and the results at the end when it comes into reality. Those stories are very similar and it bis unique to the bible as far as I know.
