U.R. and Melchizedek?

"I work and who will reverse it?!" Is 43:13

"His works were finished from the foundation of the world." Heb 4:3

"I will proclaim the LORD's decree, 'You are My Son, today" (what day? If His works were complete at the foundation of the creation?) "I have become your father.. You are a priest forever, in the order of Melchizedek." Hebrews 5:5,6; Psalm 2:7 and 110:4

Colossians 1:20 - "Having made known to us the mystery of the will" (purpose) "of Him according to the pleasure of Him which He purposes in Christ, to be put into effect when the times reach their fulfillment, to gather all things in Christ, the things in the heavens and the things upon earth."

God is not struggling to save a few folk.. as the myth goes.. His perfect will was complete before He ever began.

"...As your Father in heaven is perfect"..

Perfect never fails.

As we know - "The mystery of His will, ALL things in Jesus.. this is the decree.. forever.."

Amen, my sister! I think one of the many tell tale contrasts between UR and ET is that UR makes Christ the focus of God's plan (all things being summed up into Him), whereas ET makes the believer the main focus of the plan (how many can God save before the heart stops beating?)

Of course our Father loves us, and we all have a wonderful place in the divine plan, but clearly everything begins and ends in Jesus Christ.

Eagles live in the heights. They can see a vast distance. They are not bound by the earth. I think Melchizedek was an "eagle" and every believer is beckoned to become one.

If we regard time as the "earth", waiting upon the Lord lifts us higher and higher, as an eagle being lifted by familiarity with the wind currents, and cruising at great speeds with very little action or exertion, like the sons of Zadok, who were to wear "nothing that makes them sweat".

Moreover, they(sons of Zadok) shall teach My people the difference between the holy and the profane, and cause them to discern between the unclean and the clean .Ez 44:23

Sort of sounds like this...."But solid food is for the mature, who because of practice have their senses trained to discern good and evil". Heb 5:14


"For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory that is to be revealed to us. 19 For the anxious longing of the creation waits eagerly for the revealing of the sons of God."Rom 8

This is why we walk through the fire, enduring the trial of our faith to the end, lest we lose our reward, to become as Melchizedek, as the sons of Zadok, as eagles in our generation appointed as stewards of the age to come.

"But the Levitical priests, the sons of Zadok, who kept charge of My sanctuary when the sons of Israel went astray from Me, shall come near to Me to minister to Me; and they shall stand before Me to offer Me the fat and the blood," declares the Lord GOD. 16"They shall enter My sanctuary; they shall come near to My table to minister to Me and keep My charge. 17"It shall be that when they enter at the gates of the inner court, they shall be clothed with linen garments; and wool shall not be on them while they are ministering in the gates of the inner court and in the house. 18"Linen turbans shall be on their heads and linen undergarments shall be on their loins; they shall not gird themselves with anything which makes them sweat." Ez 44

But to each one of us grace was given according to the measure of Christ's gift.

Therefore it says,
            "WHEN HE ASCENDED ON HIGH,
            HE LED CAPTIVE A HOST OF CAPTIVES,
            AND HE GAVE GIFTS TO MEN."

9(Now this expression, "He ascended," what does it mean except that He also had descended into the lower parts of the earth? 10He who descended is Himself also He who ascended far above all the heavens, so that He might fill all things.)

And He gave some as apostles, and some as prophets, and some as evangelists, and some as pastors and teachers, 12for the equipping of the saints for the work of service, to the building up of the body of Christ; 13until we all attain to the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to a mature man, to the measure of the stature which belongs to the fullness of Christ. 14As a result, we are no longer to be children, tossed here and there by waves and carried about by every wind of doctrine, by the trickery of men, by craftiness in deceitful scheming; 15but speaking the truth in love, we are to grow up in all aspects into Him who is the head, even Christ, 16from whom the whole body, being fitted and held together by what every joint supplies, according to the proper working of each individual part, causes the growth of the body for the building up of itself in love." Eph 4

The fire will test everyone's work and if it is burned up ("for the Day will reveal it" 1 Cor 3)...so be it, yet everyone will be saved.....

"If any man's work is burned up, he will suffer loss; but he himself will be saved, yet so as through fire."

How glorious is our God, and How wonderful the fire, that consumes everything impure but always saves that purest thing- that seed of love planted in every being who has ever lived, everyone into whom God has breathed the spirit of life- so that everyone will be saved, because that was always the plan. How beautiful that He rewards those who listen, wait, and serve in love, with the reward of greater love, greater service, greater joy in His work of redemption, reconciliation and restoration.... \o/

Sadly, we do no know much about Jesus Christ's youth. I have the belief that while he was always the begotten son of God, he had to undergo a human life with trials and tests and problems, and when he stepped on the plan in Judea at the Jordan river God confirmed Jesus' sonship a second time.

If you look into the original greek, it also says that God had on that day "generated" Jesus, not begotten a second time. I would suggest it's a term referring to giving Jesus a status in the world that he previously didn't have, he was a prophet then, a messiah, the chosen one. But Jesus always knew what was happening to him and so he had had a lifetime of preparation for his 3 year mission in Judea.
