Reincarnation and hell

The understanding that God has revealed to me is that reincarnation is real and that after a person dies he either goes to heaven or hell. After the penalty is paid in hell, they are reincarnated into a suitable body and place and be given another chance. Those who make it to heaven are given the choice if they want to return, and then with an angel plan out their life if they so choose. This would seem to line up with the idea that man is appointed to die once and then judgement. And then he would be a new man in his next life.

Reincarnation being real also helps explain why there's those stories of people who remember who they were in a past life. Especially that five year old boy who had the same as the fighter pilot who died years before. He knew so many details, his face looks the same as his, and he knew lots of the people that the fighter pilot knew. lf this was the case of a familiar spirit giving the boy the info- it seems that would go against the idea that children belong to the kingdom of Heaven.

I've even heard a christian say she had something(I think it was a scientology thing) trigger a past life memory where she was a witch being burned at the stake, and she absolutly knew that it was really her.

Anyways my belief is that the reincarnation cycle is almost over or is over now, and hell will be thrown into the lake of fire

No I know there is very little about reincarnation in the bible, and the bible is the truth, but there still could be truth outside of the bible only to be know by revelation at a later time

idontknow

Meh, i don't believe in reincarnation

I believe reincarnation is just a literal (physical) interpretation of something that happened in this present life (existence).

For example, the woman who was a witch and being burned at the stake ..... at one point in her past it could have been as small as being called a witch ..... or that she had said or did something and she felt like she was being burned at the stake by someone else

Our own mind is capable of doing things we cannot yet understand, it can take a dream and make it feel real and in the same way it can take a thought and make it feel real

People have gone insane because of a single thought that grew and grew until it took over.

In my opinion, reincarnation is just a very drastic interpretation of chewing the cud

just like evolution is just a very drastic interpretation of going from a flesh mindset to a Spirit mindset

We are all on a journey, but where our mind takes us in what we believe determines whether we move farther into darkness or farther into the light

If Jesus is not our rock, the foundation upon which all we believe is based on Him, then reincarnation becomes the foundation upon which we build our house, build our beliefs, the same holds true with evolution

but that's just my opinion
Wisdom is not measured by time, it is measured by understanding

Wow!! there are so many different beliefs out in the world. How is a person suppose to know the truth?  Paul said he "knew nothing but Christ and him crucified". That's about all I know for certain. I am also certain that if there is a God that he will save everyone.

That's the story of the kid who is supposedly the reincarnation of the fighter pilot. it's 5 minutes long. There both named James. And the kid started having these dreams at age 2

I figure satan&co have been busy a way long time, or at least far longer than our life spans.. and I figure the world is covered with lies like a wet heavy quilt set low in the atmosphere.. rather smothering the life out of every thing.. So yes for me it is God's sWord that in its pure form divides true from untrue.. which the truth is Christ crucified and UR..

Besides, reincarnation sounds too messy and disorganized to me.. I take all things in this world with a grain of salt.. I figure if there was reincarnation the Bible would plainly say so.

just some food for thought

After I had my wonderful born-again experience, things started to get tough and I was wondering things like this is too hard, why am i here. And I felt a response - not an audible voice - but more like an inner knowing "you chose to come here".

Hi and once again welcome to the board. I hope I don't offend you, but I am going to speak very frankly on this subject.

Your soul did choose to come here, but that doesn't mean He was telling you that it was reincarnation that made that possible. We all chose to come here to be refined and learn to lay down our life for Him, the greatest love any man can have, that he lay down his life for his friend. Abraham, the father of our faith, was G-d's friend, and conversely G-d was therefore Abraham's friend, also.

The scripture said we were NOT willing to be lowered into this bondage of vanity, but that He subjected the same in hope, Christ in you is the hope of glory (His likeness and image being re-formed in you).

I had a dream/vision years ago, of waking up on what looked like a silver table, dressed in white, with 2 others asleep on identical tables in identical white in the same "room" with me. Just then 2 angels came in, and I KNEW they were there to put me into a "dirt suit", and the mere thought was so repulsive and filthy to me, it was beyond natural, it was a spiritual revulsion to the flesh that hit me in my core, it was so sickening a feeling and a fear. I first tried to wake up the others to warn them, then I "ran" away and tried to hide in another room, but I knew before I woke up, that the angels had succeeded in getting me, even if I wasn't shown what happened next.

A few months later, He reminded me of the scripture above and showed me that I had be shown just HOW unwilling I was to be lowered into this vanity, initially. There must have come a point where I accepted it, though. Point being, we were one with Him from the foundation of the world, but all we ever knew was Father's love. We had to know by EXPERIENCE what His love is NOT like, to chose it over everything else.

So basically it is learning to WILLINGLY lay down our life for Him, which essentially is the exact reversal of what we started with by being UN-willing to be lowered into this vanity, to begin with.

I also was caught up in the Spirit in the heavens with the stars, to see some souls descending to earthen vessels they were to become. In the Spirit, I could hear their exchanges with one another, and I felt their joy, the joy of the Lord. They were very excited, and the interesting thing is, they were talking about being aware of what connections they were going to have to one another in this life. But the veil of forgetfulness that is the carnal mind, erases those things from our memory so that we can, as lively/living stones of His spiritual temple, be used to "rub" the imperfections of one another away, until a beautifully fashioned gem for His crown is in it's place. I was initially shocked by this revelation, because I had made no room for such a thing. I had to go before the Lord for wisdom and understanding on just how this "fit", as I do with anything.

So point being, reincarnation has no factor in this. Reason being, it's a works of the flesh doctrine, not a work of the Spirit. No man by taking thought, can add to his stature (measure of Christ in him), one iota. Reincarnation teaches that we can just basically think our way out of the errors we make, and make ourselves a better person. But it doesn't work that way. Man tries to change himself from the outside in with various doctrines like this, but God changes us from the inside out, and only He can do it.

As for how these children seem to know these things, "they" don't. It is a familiar spirit that has attached itself to them providing the "memories". When I was in a deliverance ministry many decades ago, I was used of the Lord to cast this spirit out of people, believe it or not. Reincarnation is an Eastern mysticism belief that has no place in the religion of God. Blessings...

I used to be into all kinds of spirituality.. believed in immortal soul (inherent immortality instead of life in God through and in Jesus) and all the stuff that rests upon it.. But I never really put a whole lot of stock in the reincarnation teaching and theory.. seems too messy to me.. would I ultimately have 5 husbands.. five families, etc.. was my thinking. Once I found out about the bible, especially the New Testament, which I think of as His promise to us, in like He gave His word concerning.. (what I think of as the pun of puns :gsmile: )

Once I came across His sWord, I just knew the only safe place for truth is under the shadow of His wing.. all else can be iffy.. vulnerable to untruth.. be they books, websites, articles, teaching, memes.. people. And, last, but not least, my own fancy. How can I know the quiet voice of knowing I hear at any given time is His spirit of Truth, and not my own fancy? By being very solidly grounded in and veRy familiar with His Word. (Especially the whoLe New Testament, and how it all works together.)

Also, that way, any ideas, prophecy, intuitions, dreams of myself and others, can be seen in their true (truth or untruth) light. And only then can they be discerned. We've all been raised and in our culture with certain prevalent ways of thinking.. but do they stand ? in light of His Word? There's no way to know unless we thoroughly know His Word..

May we all be found of Him as chaste virgins, betrothed only to Him - only Logos/Truth.

The new testament is a very slim volume..

I think it helps a lot to read the gospels in the order they are believed to have been written.. really clears up some confusion, or at least makes some things more clear.. I also like to often read the four gospels blended as to timeline into two six month readings, each one from beginning to resurrection, etc.. this so I can more easily feel i am entering the story..

Truth (i think) is the "iron rod" with which He shall rule.. it is unbreakable. Truth does not bend or break, but it breaks all other things..

A vision I had from the Lord once, was that when we have been yield, yield, yielding to Him.. and think we have gotten to the very floor of our being, is when we need to start ripping up floor boards.. (meaning to me.. yielding to Him is key, conscious, repeated yielding, always.. for our enemies are not flesh and blood but spiritual)

:Peace2: God bless you in your :HeartThrob: felt search!

GodIsLove

Like Cardinal, I definitely believe in pre-existence because of personal experience and biblical references and reading others who believe in this.

I am not opposed to reincarnation and have read people who say there's biblical support for this (I am not going to link to anything because I think the point is not important to UR and this board is mainly for UR discussion).

I don't believe in reincarnation fully thought, I just am not opposed if it ends up being true, at least in some ways. I don't believe in the karma Hindu version for sure, and I don't worry about if it's true or not because I'm focusing on my life now. If we believe in God, Jesus and Love, all of the minute doctrinal issues are so small and we will know the truth someday anyway.

The good thing about believing in UR is that we can focus on following and loving God, and trust him to sort us all out :)

And to Cardinal

I really don't have any choice whether to believe or not. I have to believe because it rests on everything I've been taught. If I can't believe what I've been shown since i repented and went out on my own, then I'm not really home. And where do I turn if turning to Christ has allowed me to learn that preexistence wasn't a place where we just waited to come down to earth since the beginning of time. And if you only had one life why would you choose to come at a time before the Resurrection of Christ. Or why choose a life in which you were killed as a babe. Does the aborted baby learn how to love Christ. Don't you think that there would be system in place that would give that child the chance to know Christ. The evolution of the soul through many lives until it reaches a point of unselfishness and is willing to lay down its life and go into the light.

One of the reasons I don't believe in reincarnation is because the Bible emphasizes the uniqueness of each one of us. This theme occurs over and over again.

We each are created and loved by God.....as an individual. No mistakes are made by God....we are all created in His image and likeness.

Hebrews 9:

25Nor did He enter heaven to offer Himself again and again, as the high priest enters the Most Holy Place every year with blood that is not his own. 26Otherwise, He would have had to suffer repeatedly since the foundation of the world. But now He has appeared once for all at the end of the ages to do away with sin by the sacrifice of Himself.

27Just as man is appointed to die once, and after that to face judgment, 28so also Christ was offered once to bear the sins of many; and He will appear a second time, not to bear sin, but to bring salvation to those who eagerly await Him.

yeah, i believe in some sort of pre-existence ("the spirit RETURNS to God from whence it came"), but I don't believe in reincarnation.  firstly, i think it's speculative at best.  secondly, it has too direct ties to false religions imo.
The oldest known manuscripts agree with each other 99% of the time.  The scriptures, accurately translated, Spirit revealed - reliable.   Looking unto Jesus, the Author and Finisher of our faith.  Heb. 12:2

The problem with reincarnation is that it puts the responsibility for salvation onto the person, and off Christ, which makes it a work of the flesh. Jesus said we can do NOTHING without Him, and that most assuredly and most importantly includes our salvation. We can never "evolve" to be good enough, I don't care if you had a 1000 lifetimes under your belt.

There is a system in place, but it is not reincarnation. As for why would anyone choose to be born in a particular time, it's not our choice to begin with. He sends whom He wills, when He wills. We were UNwilling to be lowered into this vanity. But He works out all things for His glory and His purpose, as all things work together for good, for those that love the Lord. Peace

I have to agree.. i haven't seen in God's Word that we live more than one life ("it's given unto men once to die"). And I haven't seen in it anything saying we chose to be born on earth .. or even born.. or that we humans were pre-existent..
:Peace2:

PS - as for success of learning, I believe it is a collective and an individual lesson, that God and only God must BE God, not mankind.. not our self..

How about this slightly different version?

Ge:2:7:
And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground,
and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life;
and man became a living soul.

Ec:3:20:
All go unto one place;
all are of the dust,
and all turn to dust again.

Ec:12:7:
Then shall the dust return to the earth as it was:
and the spirit shall return unto God who gave it.

Ec:9:10:
Whatsoever thy hand findeth to do,
do it with thy might;
for there is no work,
nor device,
nor knowledge,
nor wisdom,
in the grave,
whither thou goest.

Da:12:1-3:
And at that time shall Michael stand up,
the great prince which standeth for the children of thy people:
and there shall be a time of trouble,
such as never was since there was a nation even to that same time:
and at that time thy people shall be delivered,
every one that shall be found written in the book.
And many of them that sleep in the dust of the earth shall awake,
some to everlasting life,
and some to shame and everlasting contempt.
And they that be wise shall shine as the brightness of the firmament;
and they that turn many to righteousness as the stars for ever and ever.

M't:25:31-34:
When the Son of man shall come in his glory,
and all the holy angels with him,
then shall he sit upon the throne of his glory:
And before him shall be gathered all nations:
and he shall separate them one from another,
as a shepherd divideth his sheep from the goats:
And he shall set the sheep on his right hand,
but the goats on the left.
Then shall the King say unto them on his right hand,
Come,
ye blessed of my Father,
inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world:

M't:25:41:
Then shall he say also unto them on the left hand,
Depart from me,
ye cursed,
into everlasting fire,
prepared for the devil and his angels:

When Job was taught about death he was not informed about the 1,000 year reign. He is expecting to be raised at the Great White Throne Even. That is the day Martha is referring to also. How many are saved, all are saved at that time.

Job:14:12-17:
So man lieth down,
and riseth not:
till the heavens be no more,
they shall not awake,
nor be raised out of their sleep.
O that thou wouldest hide me in the grave,
that thou wouldest keep me secret,
until thy wrath be past,
that thou wouldest appoint me a set time,
and remember me!
If a man die, shall he live again?
all the days of my appointed time will I wait,
till my change come.
Thou shalt call, and I will answer thee:
thou wilt have a desire to the work of thine hands.
For now thou numberest my steps:
dost thou not watch over my sin?
My transgression is sealed up in a bag,
and thou sewest up mine iniquity.

Joh:11:24:
Martha saith unto him,
I know that he shall rise again in the resurrection at the last day.

In the new earth the people that are alive for the 1,000 years live inside new Jerusalem and those not alive for it makes their homes outside of the walls of the city. That is as complicated as the ending is. The bulk of the Bible is dedicated to the prophecies and fulfillment that leads to the completion of both bruises in Ge:3:15.
