Pil 2:10 - every knee under earth

Phil 2:(9)10 - how does it go so missed that "at the name of Jesus every knee shall bow, of those in heaven, on earth, and under the earth".

There are no others. Those on earth, in heaven and under the earth.. There is no place else.

Under the earth, being surely, all the dead. Those who rise "still in their sins"/ not yet saved, reconciled and born again (and sealed into and of God) - not yet!

For every knee shall bow, including those who are under the ground / dead.

Now some would say that under the ground is hell or a dark afterlife.. but is that what it says? (Even if it were a subterranean chamber of horrors.. it would still be covered, what with being under the earth..)

"The preacher" in Ecclesiastes said something like God made life simple but man has many inventions.. To me that seems to say we make things complicated. (Oh yes we have wild imaginations! :laughing7: )

Dust to dust.. ashes to ashes - even the cremated and let loose upon the wind end up soon enough covered and under earth.. "All" awaiting that wake up call.. :banana: :HeartThrob: (we can all "comfort one another" concerning any we have lost (who are now under the earth awaiting His call and voice..)

I think what some are missing here is that as humans we are God's offspring and the work of his hands. That means, God takes responsibility over us and feels close to us as his creations. Though we have fallen into sin the image of God in us is not completely broken and marred beyond repair. And Jesus has a wide scope of salvation wanting to lead us all back to God. God enjoys this immensely and He is proving time and time again that He is a good father. Only with the sins we can fall into here on Earth, they can be really bad. It's hard to think of a Hitler getting saved. But we must remember that those who get saved become a new creature, so when God forgives Hitler he is in the same time "killing" the old man in Hitler and making him someone else. Most of us have been way more tame and good than Hitler so we may not recognize it, but we are all new creatures too.

Exactly! And since God Himself "subjected all to vanity" to imperfection/"missing the mark" translated "sin".. He having engineered it all so - I mean by time he created the universe and man and woman the rebellion of the adversary was fully ripe.. Do some think this was by accident?

Since He engineered it ("I the LORD create good and create evil" (quoted from faulty memory). Since HE created (engineered) the existence of evil and our imperfect state, why would He allow aNy to perish (or worse!) Wpuldnt that be a bit uncaring (not Love!) and a bit irresponsible?! Not at all Perfect and Almighty.. :doh:

I agree Marie, but it seems that God has blinded the minds of most religious folks. We have to remember that if God wanted them to understand things that we know he would surely open their minds. To us it is so simple but to them it is like out of reach. They are sincere in their beliefs and think we are the crazy ones. I use to wonder why God allowed people to believe the things they do, Him knowing they are wrong? Maybe it is to teach us to be tolerant of others beliefs among other things. I think our growth of understanding is like going to School, we start out in kindergarten and work our way up to college, most people are still in first grade. This has to be Gods doing. I know he has each of us where he wants us, else he would change things. Paul said "what do we have that wasn't given to us".

Yep! :iagree: it's kind of like that strange belief like the fall itself and the trickery of the adversary in Eden, somehow took our heavenly Father by surprise and now He has to try hard to save just a few folk.. but humans are great ones for authority figures and experts (in whatever field).. And all this untruth enveloping the planet, seems logical to me, is simply all for proving His point.. (proving truth? good from evil? life from death?)
