I'm not sure if you're versed in philosophy but I studied it at university for two years and read the books, etc. There is one philosopher who could write very well, but he was very antichristian. His name is Friedrich Nietzsche. I call myself anti-nietzsche because I oppose him a lot on other boards.

He was really mean and drove anti-christian values far over the top. For example, in his mind strength counts above everything. What does not kill me, makes me stronger was a saying of him. He also coined the saying, "God is dead".

That's all very zeitgeist dependent for me. Just because many people do not believe in God anymore, doesn't mean that God is dead. And actually the christianity of the 19th century was pretty good. UR came out again. People read the bible. People wanted world peace.

That was it. I oppose this worship of human strength. That is why I call myself anti-nietzsche.

Thanks for the explanation, but to those who know anything about Nietzsche, it was fairly self-explanatory.  Happily, even Nietzsche will be saved in the fullness of time!

It's a good explanation, at the very first all I noticed was the Nietzche.. but then I noticed the "anti". :iagree:

I don't know a lot about Nietzsche, only that he was ant-Christian and rather fierce.. and not apologetic at all about being a survival of the very fittest sort.. or that's always been my impression anyway. Seems like a fierce angry guy to me.. so I suppose lots of folks these days do relate to Him! :mshock:

I didn't know he coined the phrase "what doesn't kill me makes me stronger". I have a friend quotes that one. I wonder if she knows who said it.. she just might..
