Hello there,

I am here, having come from city data.  I met some people from here there, and i also got in too much trouble with the atheists over there, so it was time to get out. I've known of tentmaker for a while from slowly progressing to a Christian UR view a few years back and this being a good resource for UR teaching, but never thought to check out the forum.

I have a pentecostal background, am 42 years old, live in a town called Ramsbottom in North West England, am married and we have 4 young children.  We are not totally on board with church anymore, partly because it doesn't fit with our young family, and also because I don't do hierarchical, organisational 'shepherding' anymore - the gifts were/are distributed throughout the body without any preference to leadership, and so they should be exercised by all, to the benefit of all - I'm looking for the manifestation of the Kingdom in the earth with those who know Jesus for themselves, not through any other man.

Welcome! Tomorrow will be my first anniversary as a Christian Universalist!

I hope you find what you are seeking here. I find it a very pleasant place. The moderators keep things in check, yet we have lots of freedom to speak our mind.

You will find we are all different, from many theological viewpoints and backgrounds, but we all have UR in common.
I personally am very happy here. I so hope you will be, too.

Oh, I am a 60 year old Special Education Teacher; divorced with 2 grown children. I am from the Bronx, NYC. I was a Roman Catholic for 47 years, and then became a Lutheran, and a Deacon.

I personally am very at home in churches, but I have changed my outlook about organized religion, nonetheless. So many of my close friends, who are devout Christians, do not go or like to go to churches anymore. I very much understand why. I have fallen from the graces of the Lutheran Church, as I left my Deacon position to do more grass roots ministry. I am still a Deacon, but most likely in name only. I would not be allowed to do much, I am guessing. I haven't tried to find out. I am very at peace with my life, as it is, in relation to the church. I do still attend church regularly......actually, I go to many different churches.

Welcome AE, the thing I find most interesting about how He works in the lives of others is to see the difference between those who attend church and those who don't and despite that ..... we can come together in love to help bring about growth in all.

He has placed each of us in the place that He knows is best, where He knows we can do the most good for the body, some may be called to remain in the church while others are not, but neither is less (or more) important than the other in the body.

Personally, this forum has been awesome for me in coming to understanding how and why He does the things He does, as well as other forums also, but it is here that I find more love, patience, gentleness ..... all the fruit of the Spirit being manifested in those who believe.

And congrats to Dandelion on your anniversary, it was 2005 I had my experience but it wasn't until 2007 that He showed me the possibility of UR, once He did and I accepted it, more so that I came into agreement with Him, there was no turning back.

Blessings to you both and may your growth continue, for to stop moving (growing/increasing) in Him is sin crouching at the door to bring about death.

There are no food fights allowed, but all are free to discuss and disagree with respect for each other, and this is the place to come if you need prayer as well.  :welcome: Age-enduring! I live in midwest usa and am a wife, mother and grand mother.. getting ready to put in our vegetable garden soon! And looking forward to our summer camping trips.. I'm afraid I never did take to church very much. Some of the signals (attitudes?) I was getting from church was different from what I was getting from the Lord. Mostly I'm weak and find myself "conforming" (shudder). When I stopped feeling guilty about it, I became very happy. Maybe when life slows down, I'll get out there and look for some good churches! In a building or in a home.. It's funny, but when I praise Him, I never feel like I am doing so alone.. but get the feeling a collective drawing into praise occurs..

Thank you for the welcomes. I think it will be a blessing to be here.

I hope I've not given the impression I have angst with the church, or leadership. It's just that my gifting errs to the prophetic side, and so it's important for all to know the Lord for themselves, and I feel the urge of Hebrews where it says 'no longer will they say "know the Lord" for they will all know the Lord.' That is a prophetic call / sound to be sent forth.

Perhaps not the place to say it, but the principle of putting money into a bag with holes has been bubbling in my mind / life recently, not from a negative sense of my own experience, but of observation of others.  I found the following link, and can see that there must be a zeal for 'the house' which in its right and proper sense is the tabernacle, for The Most High, of our very own bodies / souls. Amen.
