This occurred to me today, and I was not sure where to post it, but settled on this sub-forum.

Those who preach Fire & Brimstone, Hell, Eternal Torture, Eternal Destruction, and all that sort of thing are stirring up fear everywhere.  However, they don't seem to fear that threat in the Revelation that the fearful will not enter the Kingdom.  I think this means any true Gospel can not be a Gospel of Fear.  Love casts out all Fear, but they whip it up all the time.  I think a lot ot the wailing and gnashing of teeth happens at the pulpit.  No, give me that Old Time Religion (First Century) - a Gospel of Love.
Socrates taught Plato.  Plato taught Aristotle.  Aristotle tutored the son of Philip of Macedon.  This boy grew up to become Alexander the Great, largely by slaughtering a lot of people.  That's philosophy.

Jesus spoke the Truth.  He blessed the poor.  He healed the sick.  He even raised the dead.  He died on a cross for us, lived again, and came back long enough to tell us to love one another.  That's religion.

YHVH = Behold the Nail, Behold the Hand = Jesus

Pride goes before a fall, a haughty spirit before destruction.

These preachers/false prophets are referred to in many places. They say things pleasing to the ears.
I.M.O pleasing to the ears implies that the flesh can gain some sort of credit, earn it's place.
Zech 13;4,5 point out they will try to deny their error when the judgment comes.

Also interesting how  Christ said,
" Woe to you Pharisees, you strain out a gnat yet swallow a camel"

I.M.O these people are focussing on this age, not the future. They can never see there are stages, plural, to come. They have no picture of the future other than singing and playing harps forever, or crying/wailing for eternity.  Egyptians, Greeks, Romans had those fears instilled in society for many generations. Their philosophy affects ours today.

For me this was so vague it was pointless having a hope/expectancy.
I am glad the truth sets us free from that bondage; literally takes us out of Egypt.
As Paul says in Romans 38,39 NOTHING can keeps us from the love of God in Christ Jesus His Son.

In trusting the Lord and His Father YHWH, the One True God... I believe He makes all things beautiful in His time. He is not freaking out about the misunderstandings of Christians. He will raise up a testimony to His glory. We are just witnesses, He is the facilitator, He is the one who causes all things to work according to the counsel of His will. It is His plan and he will bring it to pass.

For as the rain and the snow come down from heaven, And do not return there without watering the earth And making it bear and sprout, And furnishing seed to the sower and bread to the eater; So will My word be which goes forth from My mouth; It will not return to Me empty, Without accomplishing what I desire, And without succeeding in the matter for which I sent it. 12"For you will go out with joy And be led forth with peace; The mountains and the hills will break forth into shouts of joy before you, And all the trees of the field will clap their hands....

With all wisdom and understanding, 9hed made known to us the mystery of his will according to his good pleasure, which he purposed in Christ, to be put into effect when the times reach their fulfillment—to bring unity to all things in heaven and on earth under Christ.
In him we were also chosen,e having been predestined according to the plan of him who works out everything in conformity with the purpose of his will, in order that we, who were the first to put our hope in Christ, might be for the praise of his glory.

This is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior, 4who desires all men to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth.

Good point..fear based religion IS fear !..and the fearful wont enter the Kingdom = God will root out all fear, ultimately, so ALL can enter in !

  Amen ,
All glory is to God our heavenly Father    though our Lord Jesus Christ   for the great things He has and is doing  :HeartThrob:

Rev  7 Praise from the Great Multitude     :dsunny:

...11And all the angels were standing around the throne and around the elders and the four living creatures;

and they fell on their faces before the throne and worshiped God,

12 saying, "Amen, blessing and glory and wisdom and thanksgiving and honor and power and might, be to our God forever and ever. Amen."
Jesus is the reward  !!

Great points, and this is again why UR in a sense is it's own proof, in a manner of speaking - like every seed, it produces after it's kind, and the "kind" resembles Christ, as all of the beautiful attributes and realities of the divine Father are revealed in His most wise plan. For how can Love produce Fear? Or Fear produce Love? And how can a man love His enemies unless He has seen how the Most High loves all of His enemies, and is perfect in that love?
