Amen! In all the New Testament letters, Jesus is the center...and the theme! Paul especially was always totally reminding the believers to stay centered on Jesus.. In Colossians, for instance in chapter two - 18 Let no man beguile you of your reward... going into detail about what they have seen ..puffed up with idle notions 19 and not holding fast to the Head, from whom all the body, nourished and knit together by joints and ligaments, grows with the increase that is from God.

the Colossian 'heresy' that was underway seems is a strange blend of gnosticism and legalism.. I wonder if that huge trend of gnosticism - in the church - began with the Judean legalists.. :dontknow: who were saying gentiles had to be circumcised.. because Paul kept mentioning how the true knowledge (gnosis) is Christ.. (1:9-10; 2:2-3; ) 20 Wherefore if you be dead with Christ from the rudiments of the world, why, as though living in the world, are you subject to ordinances, 21 (Touch not; taste not; handle not;) ...and 16 Let no one, then, judge you in eating or in drinking, or in respect of a feast, or of a new moon, or of sabbaths,17 which are a shadow of the coming things, and the body (substance) is Christ;

..this always makes me think of man's theory of evolution (as to origins of life) because it implies man is the higher/highest power..

so that he takes his seat in the temple of God, displaying himself as being God.

I've never really thought there would be  "3rd temple" built in Jerusalem before the Lord's return.. but this verse makes me wonder..

these verses are always so interesting in that many teach this is talking about the secret lifting away of believers prior to Jesus' return (3.5 or 7 years before His return) but i tend to think it's talking about the voice and influence of believers being done away with (not tolerated) in the world, which we can see the trend of... (and the removal of 'infidels' as followers of Jesus are called)

I especially love the words "intruding into things which he has not seen, vainly puffed up by his fleshly mind." Paul talks in several places about this.

But refuse foolish and ignorant speculations, knowing that they produce quarrels. 24The Lord's bond-servant must not be quarrelsome, but be kind to all, able to teach, patient when wronged 2 Tim 2

Now, brothers and sisters, I have applied these things to myself and Apollos for your benefit, so that you may learn from us the meaning of the saying, "Do not go beyond what is written." 1 Cor 4:6

they are conceited and understand nothing. They have an unhealthy interest in controversies and quarrels about words that result in envy, strife, malicious talk, evil suspicions

or to devote themselves to myths and endless genealogies. Such things promote controversial speculations rather than advancing God's work--which is by faith.

Keep reminding God's people of these things. Warn them before God against quarreling about words; it is of no value, and only ruins those who listen.

Intruding into things they have not seen... Some people cannot help asserting authority upon dubious conclusions of their own based on an exaggerated view of their own perceptions.

Vainly puffed up by their fleshly mind... Knowledge puffs up, love edifies. Carnality divides, spirituality unifies.

Going beyond what is written means inserting justifications based in man's logic, tradition and philosophy into things seen through a glass darkly in order to force other's to accept conclusions that are not clear in the word of God.

The problem with such things is not just that they are not always true, but that even if they are true they ought to be "offered" and "shared" not "taught" or "proclaimed as heavenly edicts".

The debates that arise as the result of such things are not "edifying to the hearers" and this ought to be of singular concern to the "servant of the Lord" who is not quarrelsome or intent on proving a point so much as "speaking the truth in love" and "patiently instructing"-  unto edification.

This is a high standard and difficult to walk in, for which reason James says"Be not many teachers for as such you shall incur stricter judgment" and "we all stumble in many ways".

Some people delight in controversy. They have "lost hold on the head". Their priority is no longer speaking the truth in love in order to edify those who hear their words. Their priority is to advance dubious ideas unto which their estimation of their self-worth has become attached. They spend more time judging others than sharing words of life and lifting up the core truth's that bring life through the gospel of Jesus Christ.

it is important to stay in the middle of the road, ministering the pure milk of the word, highlighting the most edifying themes of the gospel and life in Christ.

The tendency to drift off the "narrow way that leads to life" into increasingly tangential discussions that become circular debates full of strife is evidence of spiritual illness and infection by spirits or a spirit that is not the Spirit of God.

I might note that the words "basic principles of the world" is "stoicheon". The fire of God destroys the basic principles of the world.

But the day of the Lord will come like a thief, in which the heavens will pass away with a roar and the elements(stoicheon-basic principles) will be destroyed with intense heat, and the earth and its works will be burned up(heurethesetai-exposed). 2 Pet 3

IMO, in the LOF, whatever it is, the basic principles(hidden foundations, reasons for actions and attitudes) of the world will be exposed, and those which are not eternal, will be consumed, because exposure to light causes darkness to become light.

for it is disgraceful even to speak of the things which are done by them in secret. 13But all things become visible when they are exposed by the light, for everything that becomes visible is light. 14For this reason it says, "Awake, sleeper, And arise from the dead, And Christ will shine on you."Eph 5

This the way God destroys evil and subjects adversaries and nullifies death.

It is "rooted and grounded in love" and epitomized in "Christ crucified".

Jesus was teaching about love, because hardly anyone understands the concept.
A brain can can only generate things compatible with the person that brain is located in.
Hitler can try think of positive things of Jews very hard. His doctrine made his brain unable to produce such positive thougts no matter how high his intelligence might have been.

Likewise if satan polluted  minds with hate and other false stuff, then that brain can't produce positive things.

It's just like the story of the scorpion that wanted to cross the river on the back of a toad.

So church scholars who have their head filled with hate must somehow inject terror in doctrine. It simply isn't possible God is a good guy. He must somehow at least harm some people. Hate and terror are the very core of existence.
God is only slightly less evil/voilent/destructive than satan. Satan destroys 100%. God wants to destroy 100% but retrains Himself and gives grace to 5-10%.

Some people give a few bucks to a homeless guy. That's just logic for them.
Others don't because that lazy bum has to get a job instead sleeping in his cardboard box all day long.

  If the Lord had not left us a seed /posterity  we would all be the same as Sodom and Gomorrah .

  Having humility   before  the Lord is  always  wise ,  He did not say  , Do not Judge unless you be judged , for nothing ..

Praying in the  Holy Sprint always  to do what is right in the sight of God .   Having salt and light .Wise enough to stay humble  before Him  as thankful and yet  helpful to those also going through the fiery trials  of faith   being tested .

As God sends out   the laborers of love to plant  His seed / Word of God  by faith  in their hearts and water them as  God in His grace  gives the increase  of new growth   in the  tree of Life  in   the Lords  garden of Life .

We all thank God for HIS  MERCY   upon all mankind  and wait on the Lord  , not rise up to play , while He is  so busy saving  us all .  being helpful and not harmful and getting dirty  again  after cleaning us up , or going to sleep and missing  the mark of being called  out of the world  in the first place .
  As children of  Light and of  the Day  as the Holy oil /Spirit  supplied by the Lord  keeps our lamps burning .

Is God able? "With God all things are possible" (gospels)... "Nothing is impossible with God.." (Jeremiah 30?)

"god is love" and "love never fails" ...our "heavenly Father is perfect"

Surely "perfect" makes no mistakes and how can perfect lose anything? "Whoever has the Son has life" "whoever calls on the name of the LORD will be saved" It actually doesn't say "calls upon the Lord" in this so brief life only..

Worse possible case scenario.. those not believing (by their death? by end of judgment 'day'?) will go to the lake of fire aionian - root of our word eon.. worse case scenario "for a duration" (in the lake of fire, refiner's fire) - Mark 9:49 - "For everyone will be salted with fire." verse 48 -  "where their worm [that feeds on the dead] does not die, and the fire is not put out." (Til all dross is consumed, for "our God is a consuming fire" Purity consumes impurity..)

Whenever I think of Jesus saying "I go to prepare a place for you" I see Him spreading His arms and being nailed to the cross.. that where He is, we may be also.. :gsmile: I've just always seen it that way.. :HeartThrob:

The are a few references that tell us who is alive after the vials kill all the sinners and the resurrection in Re:20:4 is complete. The first is the whole House of Israel going back to the sons of Abraham and the living would be the 144,000 and the ones in Ezekiel:37. 
The last few verses in Zachariah:13 are the first 3 verses of a passage that includes all of the next chapter. The 2/3 that die are the sinners that the 7 vial kill after the 7th trump sounds and the 1/3 that remain alive is the repented Gentiles and they are joined by the rest of the Church that goes back to the Gentiles Peter met with in Acts:10. Combined they are the 'remnant of the nations mentioned later in the passage. The feast that is established is repeated 1,000 times and in between the 12 Tribes are learning about how the temple runs in a sinless Kingdom and the Church is wandering around the rest of the planet learning how to create pasture with words alone and build cities that nobody inhabits as they area static population and they are not given in marriage so no children are born during that time nor in the new earth verses as they join together as one group and New Jerusalem is their eternal home. The feast will be the same only the 'remnant of the Nations is now the people who were not alive for the 1,000 year reign and they make their homes outside the walls of New Jerusalem and they come to the feast like the Church does in the 1,000 year reign.

Each couple outside will have 100 children and the relationship is that of shepherd/flock where the 1,000 year group is much smaller than 'the rest' by design rather than they could not have been made sinless.

This earth stays melted but cool enough that it acts as the courtyard to the Temple and the nations are in the heaven that starts at the moon and goes to the ends of the universe as Angels have all moved to their new heaven which is the same location that the GWT event takes place in.

Seems like God puts a cap on the number that are part of the first resurrection rather than men just like being in sin so much they just can't quit.

The wheat is destined to be alive at the start of the 1,000 year reign. It is a bonus for being believers without proof, in out specific case. The tares are cleansed by fire that burns their thorns off and melts the scales from their eyes and then they can be resurrected just in time for the start of the new earth. They are called 'the flock' and the 'bonus round winners' are 'their shepherds'.
