1 Cor 14;29-33 " Two or three should speak as prophets and others should weigh carefully what is said. But if a revelation comes to another person who is sitting down, the first speaker should stop, for in this way all will be able to prophesy one by one with the result that all may learn and be encouraged.

Indeed the spirits of prophets are subject to prophets, for God is not a God of confusion but of peace."

Gal 5;22-25  " The fruit of the spirit is love, joy, PEACE, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and SELF-CONTROL. Against such things there is no law. Those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the flesh with all it's passions and desires. Since we live by the Spirit let us also be guided by the Spirit."

Amen  , Agreed

I do see the world becoming  very  lawless and adversarial to the Spirit of God  . Everyone is offended over a Word   , such divisions .. lulled to sleep  or  rebellious  :sigh:

:HeartThrob:
Do Not quench the Spirit    do not despise   the Spirit of prophecy   , the testimony of Jesus Christ  IS  the spirit of prophecy  burning  in our hearts ....

:HeartThrob:

11 Therefore encourage one another and build up one another, just as you also are doing.

12 But we request of you, brethren, that you appreciate those who diligently labor among you, and have charge over you in the Lord and give you instruction,

13 and that you esteem them very highly in love because of their work. Live in peace with one another.

14 We urge you, brethren, admonish the unruly, encourage the fainthearted, help the weak, be patient with everyone.

15 See that no one repays another with evil for evil, but always seek after that which is good for one another and for all people.

16 Rejoice always;

17 pray without ceasing;

18 in everything give thanks; for this is God's will for you in Christ Jesus.

19 Do not quench the Spirit;

20 do not despise prophetic utterances.

21 But examine everything carefully; hold fast to that which is good;

22 abstain from every form of evil.

23 Now may the God of peace Himself sanctify you entirely;

and may your spirit and soul and body be preserved complete, without blame at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.

24 Faithful is He who calls you, and He also will bring it to pass.

25 Brethren, pray for us.

26 Greet all the brethren with a holy kiss.

27 I adjure you by the Lord to have this letter read to all the brethren.

28 The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you.
Jesus is the reward  !!

 :cloud9: Amen, but nowadays, I'd think you'd be hard-pressed to find anyone operating in the true gift of prophecy.

..amen.. prophecy.. word of knowledge... order...

Prophecy in the classic sense.. It's sort of not too terribly difficult to see the trends occurring & shaping up in the world.. especially as they are parallel to Bible prophecy.. we can put them side by side.. and a prophet is told to speak but has no control over other's ears.. there is such a spirit of 'favoritism' and entrenched doctrine shared in most places that I think any true prophet would have serious trouble being heard.. Alas that's one reason we are called sheep, as sheep are hard of seeing and hard of hearing.. But worth his salt a prophet would continue.. til they stoned him (figure of speech!)

the prophets wandered desert places.. alone.. not welcome..

Even in the early church, may have been a spirit of competition.. every body talking at once, not listening, trying to impress (it's my experience with churches which I suppose I may be entirely wrong as I've not much experience with the churches.. :laughing7: )

 :cloud9: True prophecy pertaining to individuals, comes in an order. First, word of knowledge, then word of wisdom, THEN to prophesy is to declare (as a King declares something in His kingdom and it IS) those things that are not, as though they were, ie. He knows the end from the beginning because He declared it. My  :2c: Blessings....

Micah 7:7

But as for me, I will look to the Lord; I will wait for the God of my salvation; my God will hear me.

John 15:5

I am the vine. You are the branches. He who remains in me, and I in him, the same bears much fruit, for apart from me you can do nothing.

While I believe that the Spirit worked through men not of the Melchizedek line, I do believe that it is from that line from which the Saviour of the world comes and with whom the Holy Spirit is associated.

According to my understanding, the Spirit was upon the Godly devout instruments of old, and the Spirit is holy, sacred beyond description because it is used by God to raise His children, therefore seers used by the Holy spirit must be completely empty of self and filled with pure motive alone for God's shepherding of His children, to harmlessly receive the flow of sacred power, lest the power is diverted from its sacred course and the mouth gives the utterance of a lying spirit which misleads the children who then slander the Spirit and bring destruction to the one concerned.

To me it seems clear that the warning of the Master is for all time "and whoever may cause to stumble one of the little ones believing in me, better is it for him if a millstone is hanged about his neck, and he hath been cast into the sea", and to abuse the Spirit for any measure of self-gain whether material or vanity or adulation or lust or worldly-mindedness, is a violation not to be forgotten.

On the other hand, I believe that those who have asked to follow Christ and then turn back when their eyes are opened shall endure profound regret when they see that it was but a trick of the shadows which caused them to fear when only one more step in faith was needed, only one more ounce of courage required, only one last ravine to cross, and the life-giving spring of spiritual life would have issued from the stalk of their staff and the lambs would have received an abundance of rejuvenating water. Surely it is better to surrender completely and pick up ones cross and follow the Master, it is the only choice He wants.

I believe that with those left after the Master Christ had departed, the Spirit was among them as they retreated, in threes, fours, fives, to quiet places away from the throng. The Spirit comforting and guiding, one speaking while others heard, then another speaking while others listened, and I believe that it is possible to discern some of these many comfortings and guidances as direct expressions laid down in the Holy Book.

The Spirit is the Comforter, and in my opinion, the devastation of the mother whose little ones go too early should not be a bottomless slough of despond: "Let the little children come to me and do not try to stop them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these". Let the Spirit comfort, guide. The Spirit is of the one God who is Love and he or she who has not brought comfort to those who suffer, who are bereaved, who are lonely-hearted, has not understood the message aright.

"15 β€”He that walketh righteously, and speaketh uprightly; he that despiseth the gain of oppressions, that shaketh his hands from taking hold of bribes, that stoppeth his ears from hearing of blood, and shutteth his eyes from seeing evil:

16 he shall dwell on high, the fortresses of the rocks shall be his high retreat; bread shall be given him, his water shall be sure.

17 Thine eyes shall see the King in his beauty; they shall behold the land that is far off."

It is my understanding that the joy of the soul comes from the touch of God through the living Christ within and without through whom all this was brought into being and who permeates all things.

When the Christ is risen and sits on His throne, there is only good to be seen and there always has only been good seen by the real spirit.

Therefore, it seems to me, that before times, estranged from the God within, because the mind fought against His dictates, so unnecessary suffering came while the real spirit continued weaving the path it must – but alone. Sadly, it seems to me that there is the purifying suffering which is for Christ and there is that needless suffering which could be bypassed if the truth were known and followed.

Surely it is far better to say Thy Will be done not mine, so that now and forever it is must be from glory to glory for the one who is ruled by and in unison with the God in Christ who is given His rightful place.

Now, it seems to me, death, error and sin are seen outside of the Christ kingdom as encircling mists, and the interior sun which now burns at midday dissipates the ghosts and shadows of the god of the imitation world whose only power was given by the eating of false fruit. Therefore, in my opinion, the only feast should be on the Bread of Heaven – Christ.

So, it seems to me, one is no longer a limited part, but one is unfolding to the completeness of love and truth, no longer separate but one whole, no longer a bird but a flock, complete, one with God through Christ, the Essence and the Source found in the inexplicable beauty and humility of the Christ, who suffers for His beloved fold which requires guidance and pasturing – suffers in a way it is impossible to understand, whose great living tapestry of Divine life includes growth through experience, of interdependence, of taking from the Spirit and giving to the needy and oppressed, of never holding on to that of the world so that only the pure and holy Spirit may have a place and give succour to the reviving lambs.

The Peace of the Prince of Peace is the right of all, the joy which comes through faith alone is the joy that cannot fade. It is my understanding that the joy is greater in the World to come when the suffering for His sake is greater in the blindness of this world. I do not think this is a mystery but a fact which, in itself, answers many questions.

"A few drops of blood renew the whole world, and become for all men that which rennet is for milk, uniting and drawing us into one". "Christ is like leaven for the entire mass, and having made that which was damned one with himself, frees the whole from damnation".
