Praying For the Country

50 state prayer meeting. (Paraphrased, Reverend Franklin Graham) Politicians not allowed to speak. The Democrat or Republican parties cannot fix America. Only God can fix America. And much of it is the church's fault.

Fully agree with all his points and beliefs or not, at least he's praying and encouraging prayer to God through Jesus Christ, and that's a good thing.

:thumbsup: Jab...........when opposition is faced by the church..or persecutions........the church grows and increases........

I have been seeing this take place. complacency in faith..is being changed into more zeal due to what has been going on in this

country/governments. It's like..people who have taken God and Jesus for granted...and become lackadaisical in regard to them

then the threat of what you have taken for granted to be taken away..spurs you on to appreciate and hang on tighter.

I agree with him! ...and wow.. just read some of the comments.. ridicule and dislike of christians abounds on the internet.. and not much (enough) true or honest dialog and conversation..

I remember in the 80's the popularity of the verse "If My people who are called by my name will repent, humble themselves and seek my face, I will heal their land.." Chronicles

I guess there was some amount of "delay" due to those prayers.. We could sure use it again! Yes, being the overly optimistic soul (concerning humans) that I am, I would be happy with delay... Not that HE isn't "able".. I'm just not as optimistic as I once was on the turning around of the nation and world.. :doh: not the best attitude I suppose.. But it won't keep me from praying! for LOTS of delay.. For one heart at a time finding Him!! The source of Life, peace and all good things!

It's funny to me how the Philadelphia church and laodicaea are almost opposites.. It's interesting too how Philadelphia - which name means brotherly / sisterly love is the one (only) one with the promise of safety in the day of trial/their day of trial.. I've often thought the Internet, even with all its flaws has been an open door for Christian witness. And how gracious the Lord is that the lukewarm, He knocks on the door and if they open the door He will come in and fellowship with them. :girlheart:

I'm praying for this country too.. We've been on a downhill slope for a long time.. In the 60's and 70's we (christians, though I wasn't one til 79:) let them throw God out the window.. The nation wasn't perfect, not by a long shot.. but now it's so "antiChrist" (antiJesus, antiYahweh/antiGod of the Bible..

And part of the reason for that is e.t.!! I love the believers, but that's true! As a matter of fact, i believe any untruth, no matter how unintentional or how small - to be harmful.

And this is a day and age to be armed with the Truth. And only Truth.

About the country and the world. People don't realize how bad, it can get. History is not a pretty picture. It's a series of less than pretty pictures. And it took a long time for freedom and liberty for the common person to come about.

But we're shredding that foundation. Yep, we were built on the Rock for a while.. (not perfectly of course). But now we're building on nothing but shifting sands (I believe) and I'm sorry, but the flood waters are bound to come.

I am praying the believers at the time will be fully armed and fortified with only Truth. Because it's truth that sets free, and diluted truth doesn't set free. (Imo :doh: )

Truth is part of who and what Father and Son is. Truth, as opposed to all which is not true.

The quiet voice of truth vs the babble of untruth.

Whenever things go down hill (in earnest) people will be seeking... Trouble is, powers that be will be seeking them! As the battlefield is the mind. Truth is the two edged sword that can pierce.

The more believers yielding their whole being, mind and beliefs to the LORD, the more light will shine. The more - one by one - people can come to the light.

It's the only hope.

see with what comfort the Father comforts us in this time. Comforting His people with the assured expectation of the salvation of all men.

great darkness covers the earth..but the Lord shines on us.Because of increasing lawlessness...the love of many waxed cold...and

many of the churches agreed with the adversary..that God would torture forever and annhilate men. But for those who endure

and have brotherly love...He comforts us with the salvation of all men. We have His sure word..that all the nations shall bring their glory

into the Holy city...even though we wittness the dragon trampling beneath his feet.......

I believe in prayer for the nations, for sure, but I also believe that in all of the evil that is abounding, and in all of the darkness that is spreading, it is vital to have the same frustration level as our heavenly father...which is zero. :dsunny:

Amen Shev! That is absolutely true! and very freeing.. We can care, without being frustrated! Speaking for myself, if I was e.t... oh my, frustrated would not be the word..

..and to not be frustrated.. etc.. doesn't mean one doesn't care what folks may go through.. or some are going through now.. Even on judgment 'day' when it's my belief all of history will be reviewed in all its horrible details-an extra driving home of the lesson and engraving of His law on all hearts and minds.. I expect to feel very much sorrow as i witness people's sufferings throughout the ages.. but I don't expect to lack peace and be worried in any way..

Praise Yahweh for the Truth of His Great Intent..

I do however, think I for one, feel some little bit of frustration when e.t seems to be winning the day! :laughing7: But only a little, as with all untrue things (atheism, whatever) truth will be all that will remain standing.. no need to defend truth..

..we may even weep over some headlines (sufferings of others) but "beneath are the everlasting arms" and the knowing His perfect intent cannot help but be carried out and 100% victorious.. :thumbsup:

I agree, Marie Glen. There is godly sorrow, there are trials, there are a whole range of difficult emotions - but frustration is one that does not belong!
