Here's a post I read this morning - thought every one here might find it interesting, as it sums it all up pretty well-- (I love truth :HeartThrob: Sad it has been so obscured!) :smile:

+Marie Glen , instead of killing the evil people and then they going to hell forever god could change their minds, but, does not want to, it seems he really likes people in agony for eternity. The god of the bible makes no sense.

No, the god people impose on the Bible makes no sense.
Socrates taught Plato.  Plato taught Aristotle.  Aristotle tutored the son of Philip of Macedon.  This boy grew up to become Alexander the Great, largely by slaughtering a lot of people.  That's philosophy.

Jesus spoke the Truth.  He blessed the poor.  He healed the sick.  He even raised the dead.  He died on a cross for us, lived again, and came back long enough to tell us to love one another.  That's religion.

YHVH = Behold the Nail, Behold the Hand = Jesus

Goes back to the old dilemma.
Is God powerful enough to save everyone?
If not, he's not all powerful.
Is God willing to save everyone?
If not, then God is not the Saviour

Fortunately, God is powerful enough to save everyone and is willing to save everyone. His power and will cannot be thwarted.

For too long false doctrine has been the norm in the Church. "God wants, but man overrides" or "God chooses a small number for salvation only". Exactly what Jesus and His apostles warned about.
Micah 7:7

But as for me, I will look to the Lord; I will wait for the God of my salvation; my God will hear me.

John 15:5

I am the vine. You are the branches. He who remains in me, and I in him, the same bears much fruit, for apart from me you can do nothing.

Amen! to all of the above! The false doctrine makes not sense.. It's highly lacking in logic. As Ded said, the doctrine implies God is either lacking in power, or lacking in goodness! Which truly, surely is man's image of God imposed upon His true character.. And amen, that's the one that makes no sense. At all! Thank Goodness His ways are higher than man's!!

Many of these false doctrines seem to have come from men trying to instil the fear of God into others.
Man trying to do God's work complicates everything.
I like what Paul says when quoting Isaiah in Romans;  " How can they preach unless they are sent?'
The most positive point made in the scriptures for me is the statement;
Look what kind of love the Father has given us-   THAT WE ARE TO BE CALLED SONS/DAUGHTERS OF GOD."
Inspirational for me.
