The debt is paid

John's (EW's) post about forgiveness and one of the responses made me think of the following. One aspect of UR that is important is that it testifies that the blood of Jesus is powerful enough to pay the entire debt for sin. Though ET makes that claim, it then is divided against itself, when believers assert that "He has done His part, now we need to do ours." To me, either the debt was paid at the cross, or it was not. I don't believe it is held on deposit until we believe! Of course there is correctional judgment, but this is not in order to pay any debt. If a rich man went to every creditor in the world and paid every debt instantly, would any man still be in debt just because he did not realize or believe his debt has been paid?

Every time someone asserts that anyone will spend eternity cut off from God, tormented in hell, I believe they testify against the blood of Jesus, and assign it a horribly reduced value that does not even match the cost of Adam's transgression. What an awful thing to believe!

More than this, unforgiveness is very closely aligned with the consciousness of this debt being paid or not, as to refuse to forgive also testifies against the blood of Christ, as we are refusing to do that which Christ has already done, and refusing to acknowledge the power of His blood. These are very grave things, and one of the many reasons ET is such a damaging error in every way.

But thankfully, when Jesus Christ was crucified, He indeed paid the debt, not with any half-measure or innuendo, but completely, finally, and explicitly. Therefore, when we look at any human being, be they likeable or hostile, good or evil according to the flesh, we can look at them as someone who has had their debt paid, and who are precious because they have had something precious shed on their behalf, and someone too wonderful to express has died in their place. This should create a glow of blessedness around every person we come across....may it be so!

Amen. This was, and still is, one of the greatest personal transformations and blessings I received after i really became firmly established in the reconciliation of all. I began to see every face as beloved of the Lord. Even on days where I am overtired and grumpy and someone gets up in my face, I check my response with the knowledge that Jesus saved me with arms outstretched, and if I fail to stretch those arms out, I repent, because I kno thats why i am here, and it drives me into the Spirit to become "rooted and grounded in love".

The Lord has been speaking a few words to me lately and one of them is "Awareness is the beginning of everything".

Only God can make people "aware", but once they are they cannot easily go back from that consciousness. I am so glad the Lord burned that veil off me with His eyes of fire. I cannot go back to seeing people as enemies without hearing the words, "Love your enemies and so be like your Father in heaven".

Its a trip man, LOL.

Yes!! I try to keep this in mind at all times, but it is hard to do when dealing with someone who wants to make you see things their way, especially the hell issue. I have often wondered why God doesn't want everyone to know the truth about salvation? I believe we can only understand what is given us to understand by God. I have often wondered if some see things the way they do to make us search the scriptures more and teach us tolerance and compassion of others?

Amen the debt is already paid. The correction just burns the veils and creates awareness, the epiphany of Christ crucified.
