Could someone share their perspective, scripturally, on the promise of Eternal Life as our present and future inheritance being Sons and Daughters of God?

Also, in all things we must rely on Holy Spirit, but any thoughts/articles on sharing the Victorious Gospel of Jesus Christ in lieu of the many ensnared in the traditions of men?...Thx!

What has been translated as "eternal life" in popular versions of scripture is actually "eonian life" because it comes from the Greek "aionion," the adjective of "aion," which is a period of time not infinite time. We're promised life during the coming eons when we will have been immortalized, but the eons will have a consummation when all mankind will be immortalized. See the link and the attachment.

I actually believe that eonian life and immortality are distinct concepts. I believe that Jesus Christ is the Life and that the life is within us to free us from darkness both in this life and the life to come. I also believe that immortality is promised clearly in the scripture and is the quality of the literal consciousness of the immortal to never cease.

I love your question. In the asking it says it all :o).

Present and future life as the Sons and Daughters of God. "The one who believes in me has passed form death into life".

20 For the creation was subjected to futility, not willingly, but because of Him who subjected it, in hope 21 that the creation itself also will be set free from its slavery to corruption into the freedom of the glory of the children of God. 22 For we know that the whole creation groans and suffers the pains of childbirth together until now. 23 And not only this, but also we ourselves, having the first fruits of the Spirit, even we ourselves groan within ourselves, waiting eagerly for our adoption as sons, the redemption of our body.

We have received life as the day dawning. We will receive it as an endless full noon at the redemption of our bodies, " ...we shall be like Him for we shall see Him as He is"...."so that in the ages to come He might show the surpassing riches of His grace in kindness toward us in Christ Jesus."

I believe the "incorruptible seed" is "Christ in you the hope of glory", as Paul says in Rom 8, The sufferings of our present are nothing when compared to the glory to be revealed in us, aionian life is for service and glory as Sons and Daughters in the ages to come, setting the creation free from futility into our glorious liberty.

In the present we are sowing the seeds of that future glory through our sufferings as we share the cross of Christ everyday, loving those who hate us, and forgiving them who do us wrong, and blessing those who curse us, by the love of Christ within us, which is His glory and the manifestation of His life in us.

  I don't think much can be said that has not been said already ..
   No need to talk over each other    or around in circles   ha!
   I think the single most  helpful   scripture for me is LOVE is what makes one
pass from death to life   in the here and now  and no end to that  in sight   and goes right along with ed  's  Romans 8   scripture  the carnal mind is death

1John 3     If everyone is our brother  who believes in Christ/GOD   and if  love or charity /kindness   is the greatest thing   !!

Now ,  for me , love can be expressed   in multiple   ways .. and different  types of love  in relationships,  agapaō  love and phileo  love

Charity being the agapē  or the love feasts     and fellowship   with one another  , knowing them by the same   Holy Spirit of Oneness .

and not by the flesh , but see the good   with the eyes of understanding ..

  Love is patient   love is kind    the fruits of the Holy Spirit
We all can eat   of in fellowship   with one another    as God being the  Source  of all that is Holy and good  and perfect  complete  whole ..

So, Deeplyloved, this is what I thought of when I saw your question.

More than the words, themselves, this passage for me, is full of Jesus' love and compassion for us. It is brimming with the concern of someone leaving their friends, whom they don't want to feel abandoned. It is the Son of God giving us directions and comforting us....and telling us all, that will we be able to find Him, on the other side.

John 14 New Living Translation (NLT)

Jesus, the Way to the Father
14 "Don't let your hearts be troubled. Trust in God, and trust also in me. 2 There is more than enough room in my Father's home.[a] If this were not so, would I have told you that I am going to prepare a place for you? 3 When everything is ready, I will come and get you, so that you will always be with me where I am. 4 And you know the way to where I am going."

5 "No, we don't know, Lord," Thomas said. "We have no idea where you are going, so how can we know the way?"

Eternal life is eternal.  However, from our mortal perspective, it looks not so.  Yet, when we reach the proper point on our journey, which moves as much in time as in space, we will see vast vistas of time laid out before us...

The universe of space offers us over 100,000,000,000 galaxies, each of them with stars as dust.  Time will offer us comparable riches, IMHO.

As best as I can tell, there seems to be a distinction with a real difference between Eternal/everlasting life, as generally used, and immortality. Our Life is in Christ is a full, rich, abundant Life (beyond our imagination), and has many aspects, qualitatively and quantitatively. At least for this short time on earth, we may only just see through a glass darkly until, such a time as, we see Him face to face.

  I believe this much , I do  not think we  really know what   Living  in Christ truly  is until we have tasted death   .
I say this from personal experience ..

  I believe when Jesus come  , came or is coming   HE was, is and will be  , going to gather all that would   come ,   into the HOLY SPIRIT  ''    BEING THE GREAT CLOUD OF WITNESSES     ''   and into  the  Holy Spirit of truth   ..

I seem to remember many recent discussions with varying ideas on our future life...

"Jesus said to her, 'I am the rising again, and the life; he who is believing in me, even if he may die, shall live" [John 11:25]

I do not think there is anything too complicated to be deduced from 'a collection of aeons', rather that they signify large spans of physical existence that follow one after the other to form the idea of Eternity (which is not physical).

Since a child, I have always thought of Eternal Life as the Life in which those who are immortal have their existence.

I belive now that those in spiritual Eternal Life view this physical life as temporary and transient material made of dust which returns to dust - and is therefore not the real life that they live in. And now I personally have many good reasons to continue to believe it.

Also, I believe that 'Eternal time' does not possess 'physical time' but rather 'Eternal time' is the NOW with no past and no tomorrow, and night and day were simply drawn out of the NOW which causes physical time and they exist only for the 'outer sense man' of the Physical, and 'time' also passes away when one enters the NOW - which, as I see Jesus saying above, can be entered even here.

I see God as never ageing, He has always been and always will be - He is Being - The Supreme Being

Just my opinion.
