Hello, my name is Reggie, I live in Dallas, Oregon and have been a born again Christian since 1967. Its been an amazing journey to have walked with God these 48 years! Im now in the twilight of my years, and He is still doing exciting , wonderful things, the most recent being the revelation of the "Universal Redemption of the Lapsed Creation". This really blew my mind as I come from a long background of traditional evangelical teaching and none had taught me otherwise. It had long bothered me when I would think of the countless millions who would be spending eternity in unthinkable torment. I couldnt reconcile this idea with what we know to be the Nature and Character of God as revealed in Scripture and personal experience. The truth is clearly there but long years of traditional teaching and thinking had completely distorted it. How amazing it is to see what is really taught! It clearly shows God to be the Wonderful, Loving, Forgiving God that we know from experience.
   It is a pleasure to find a group such as this who believe the same thing, and Im looking forward to participating. Thanks so much.

Welcome, Reggie. I have only been here, I guess about 3 weeks now, and last Sunday, decided to embrace the theological concept of Christian Universal Redemption.

I am a former Roman Catholic of 47 years, and a Lutheran at this time, but have been working with some grass roots Christian Ministries the last few years, as well.

I very much enjoy this site, and the people are very friendly and open, I find.

I so hope you enjoy it, as well.

I understand what you are saying....we are always hearing of a God who never gives up on us, we experience this, and then we are told that many go to hell. We are told they didn't choose God, yet, the parables and stories of God, tell us of a God who will love us with an everlasting love. And in 1 Corinthians 13, we are told that Love never fails.

So, here we are!

Socrates taught Plato.  Plato taught Aristotle.  Aristotle tutored the son of Philip of Macedon.  This boy grew up to become Alexander the Great, largely by slaughtering a lot of people.  That's philosophy.

Jesus spoke the Truth.  He blessed the poor.  He healed the sick.  He even raised the dead.  He died on a cross for us, lived again, and came back long enough to tell us to love one another.  That's religion.

I like what you said about your Christian walk being an "amazing journey." Bob Dylan sang "I was so much older then, I'm younger than that now." When I was younger I thought I had all the answers. I thought if I gave my life to Christ He would save me. I spent much of my twenties and thirties living a legalistic life trying to earn my salvation, using the New Testament as a law book for my life and church structure. This look at scripture was necessary for repentance but the ramification of my works oriented salvation was an uptight life and a feeling of trapping others in this type of life style while thinking it could save them eternally.

Over time my understanding of the cross became that of grace. I began to see that Jesus Christ loved me even though I am a sinners. That He had victory over sin and death by His death on the cross. It was His righteousness that saves and not my own. This hope, by its very nature, encompassed all mankind. It is Gods will that all might be saved and come to the knowledge of the truth.

Reggie, as we put our trust in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, we come as children before Him. As babes we drink he pure spiritual milk and now solid food begins to strengthen us as the day approaches when we see Him face to face, as He is.
