you can have faith..and do all kinds of things[cast out demons/proclaim the gospel etc] but without LOVE. :dontknow:..... lack of love IS

INIQUITY.[cheating pair of scales]..... Love is the image of God and Christ in us.

It is the distinguishing 'mark' of those who belong to Christ.

...... those that Love have been born of God.LOVE IS THE PERFECT BOND OF UNION TO CHRIST/GOD/FELLOW MAN...ONENESS.

...a union of spirit/God...and flesh/man.....have I not made them one spirit and one flesh? ....in His seeking of righteous offspring.

sin is 'missing the mark" of the HIGH CALLING OF LOVE...so He keeps putting up with us in LOVE..until the fullness of LOVE'S

GLORY BRINGS US BACK FROM DEATH.   Place me as a seal over your heart and arm..for LOVE IS AS STRONG AS DEATH...

Tom

Right, without love we're nothing.

Tom

"And if I should have prophecy and should be perceiving all secrets and all knowledge, and if I should have all faith, so as to transport mountains, yet have no love, I am nothing." (1 Corinthians 13:4)

Errors of faith are most often traditions, dominions, and overblown doctrines. The best thoughts of unbelief could be the seeking of God as He really is, for instance such a thought as....."God cant really be like they say He is could He?"

So sometimes the best thoughts of unbelief r the seeking that leads to faith in the One True God who alone dwells in unapproachable light.

 EW..........I found that personally...I quit putting faith in fallible men and religious institutions...and sought HIM only

..........through prayer and seeking after Him.  Who knows? maybe He in His wisdom...allowed the saint/churches to be overcome

[see Daniel] for the greater good of all;...for the seeking after Him with the whole heart...for those who would not let fallible

religious institutions foil them. And for the purpose of  extending His grace threefold.

I found that once I found myself born into this realm....the seeking to find Him..the seeking of truth/purpose  and understanding

before my death, was on. It was like /and is like an obstacle coarse with many things to foil us..that by faith, endurance, perseverence

and His spirit, must be overcome. As we seek reconcilation with Him..the peace of Him that surpasseth all understanding[of men]

and builds us up in the mind of Christ[and God's thought's/which is higher then men's/and a leading into all truth/widom/love]..

that is the maturity of Christ. There are distractions/temptations/and stumblings in this world that serve as 'proving' grounds.

Paul talks about running the race with endurance....and my expierence so far..bears wittness with his.

...seeking deeper..wider..and higher....water seeks it's own level...and so too, the waters of life.

I come that ye may have life more abundantly NOW..and eternal life.

ps...Holding up Jesus as our example..in overcoming the adversary.  Peter saying...'surely not,Lord"  In seeking the will of the Father

and following the Holy spirit...Jesus overcome the adversary speaking as the will and mind of men.  So,too, men in error[who hasn't]

as teacher's in religious institutions/family members etc....may serve in this capacity.

anyone ever hear such things as..'surely it's not God's will that you suffer for doing good" or 'what kind of God allows these

  horrible/evil things to happen?'

we learn to discern/hear what the spirit is saying through all this, even though we all stumble many times.  Accepting God's will

on a matter..'Father,I pray this cup may pass from me..if it be Thy will, but nevertheless,Thy will be done"

Sometimes, the will of God takes us somewhere we do not wish to go.[Peter/John 21;19..through death]

There must be tens of thousands of people who reject the God who sends people to hell

Absolutley..... at least.

If only they knew...........

All the beauty you've ever seen
In any day
In any dream
In any song you've ever heard
In love
In a feeling from a word

All th joy you've ever known
Every hope
Like the wind filled sail
Every joy
Like a comet's tail
Or the melody of a beautiful bird

All the peace you never knew
The horizon
Coming into view
As dawn reveals the promised land
All children
And a Father with an open hand

No need, no pain, not even tears,
Except for joy when He appears
As we fully equipped at last
Will reign in life till
Future past
All rivers rolling into one ocean-sea of love,
of joy,
of peace,
of life everlasting.

I recently came across this quote:

"The errors of faith are better than the best thoughts of unbelief."

Is it true?

Odd comment.  Everyone has a measure of faith, question is where do they place it.  Therefore "the best thoughts of unbelief" is really just a synonym for (well-intentioned) misplaced faith, which is in substance indiscernible from an error of faith.  So it's an illogical and silly comment masquerading as an insightful aphorism.

I believe that as believers we can know God and be sure of our salvation in Him. I do not believe we can be 100% certain on any doctrine that is bandied about and discussed at length with pro's and cons and scripture quoted to back both sides. I think the statement means that if your belief is founded on anything but the word of God, (as it would be for almost all non-believers) you are more than likely wrong on most doctrine and other spiritual truths. "There is a way that seems right to a person but in the end, it leads to destruction." :Peace2:

We think that the doctrines of Annihilation and Eternal Torment are errors, and others think the same about UR. I don't know why that happens, but it surely comes from sins and imperfections that we all have.
Micah 7:7

But as for me, I will look to the Lord; I will wait for the God of my salvation; my God will hear me.

John 15:5

I am the vine. You are the branches. He who remains in me, and I in him, the same bears much fruit, for apart from me you can do nothing.
