Hey, welcome, PinkPoodle!  I love a goofy sense of humor!  [Best Ahnold voice..."It's not a humah!"]

Socrates taught Plato.  Plato taught Aristotle.  Aristotle tutored the son of Philip of Macedon.  This boy grew up to become Alexander the Great, largely by slaughtering a lot of people.  That's philosophy.

Jesus spoke the Truth.  He blessed the poor.  He healed the sick.  He even raised the dead.  He died on a cross for us, lived again, and came back long enough to tell us to love one another.  That's religion.

He just needs the Lord Jesus Christ sis  and all those gathered in Him      ,

Be of good cheer ''little flock ''  I have overcome the world .

Greater is He that is in YOU that in the world   ,  when the Word and Spirit  are in you  STRONG     , nothing can   move   '' The Rock of Salvation''  ,

not even the gates of   hades   / darkness and gloom , unseen and unknown  ,   graves ..

May  he be ''refreshed in the Lords presence ''

where two or  3 are gathered in My NAME   I am in the midst of them        :HeartThrob:

..if what he thought he knew of God has been wiped out..tell him to take heart!  :girlheart: Coz the Lord often has to tear down what

is not of Him..so He can give your friend what is Him[love]  :HeartThrob:

Father and Jesus have to tear down Babylon's tower for all our sakes.  I was wiped out in the very same manner.

....and now..it is time for the daystar... :dsunny: to rise with healing in it's wings.....  may the Lord cause His face to shine upon

    him...............

he is so stubborn . . . maybe i can convince him to join this forum. . . he needs more friends, can someone tell me if it is appropriate for depressed people on this forum? or would that create some sort of avalanche? he is one tough nut by golly acts like a child, he says he believes in Jesus but his parent said stop praying. now .. wait i'll get back to you. (ie cool poodle photo thnx  :Peace2:)

One nice thing about being a Universalist is that we don't need to wrestle with "Once Saved, Alway Saved," and "If You Don't Toe The Line, You'll End Up In Hell."  Whatever you go through, you're Saved, being Saved, and going to be Saved.  It is so written!  Now, that is the Good News (Gospel).

What I mean to say, P.P., is that your friend is saved, and isn't that nice?

Almost all of these debates, Calvinism vs Arminianism, Once saved always saved versus almost nobody gets/stays saved, developed as justifications for eternal torment.

They all dissolved for me when I saw the restoration of all things as the matrix that runs through God's plan for the ages.

It may be interesting, in some cases even fairly important- but evrything else is dwarfed by the gathering of all things into one in Christ, and God being ALL IN ALL.

I think God's love overcomes all evil including depression, and humor is a good attitude. If you don't think God has a sense of humor, just take a look around at all your crazy brothers and sisters, and some of them are probably thinking the same thing about you. Anybody who is depressed is just thinking to much about the evil in their life and forgetting about their blessings. We all experience evil in life to humble us and cause us to rely on God to save us. We need to learn to be content with our blessings and thank God.

The Parent's advice is very telling.  I have a 30 year old that is the same.  I let him make his own bed, but it is hard to watch.  Watch I must, because he is my son.  Wife wishes she could warn the poor women that he gets involved with more.............run! Would be her advice.

Hope that is not too depressing.

:cloud9: Tell him to join the forum. We've handled depressed people before with the Lord's help. And welcome to the forum. Goofiness is definitely accepted here.  :friendstu:
