Judgement Day

I read a fictional story in an evangelical church magazine which goes like this.   A pastor in a church was preaching a sermon about Judgement Day.  A 15-year-old girl in the church was not listening to the sermon.  She was thinking about what she watched on television last night.  She was thinking about her friends.  She was thinking about school.  Later that day she noticed that a few people had suddenly disappeared and she was left on earth with many other people. She went home and her parents weren't there.  She telephoned the 911 emergency services and found the lines were busy and she couldn't get through.   The conclusion of the story was that it was Judgement Day, the saved were taken up to heaven and the unsaved (including the 15-year-old girl) were left behind on earth (to be condemned?).  After reading this story I felt so angry that I tore the magazine up and put it in the wastepaper bin.  How can a 15-year-old-girl be condemned for not listening to her pastor's preaching. It is outrageous. This is a scare tactic.  From a universal salvation point of view, what really happens on Judgement Day and when Jesus comes again?

Yeah, that's a sad story that shouldn't be interpreted by thinking the girl didn't get saved simply because she didn't listen to some preacher. There are several judgments in scripture. I think the judgment of the nations about which was good to Israel and which was not when Christ returns to earth is usually confused with the judgment a thousand years later at the great white throne of individual unbelievers before they will go into the second death-the lake of fire. But the good news is that, even though those who will be dead in the lake of fire will miss out on eonian life in Christ, they will eventually be saved when death is abolished at the consummation of the eons and God will be all in all.

Sorry...have to go to work now, but why dont you check on that for a moment or two!  Hebrew justice DOES NOT include "eternal torment" Ther are a lot of coded words in the scripture like for example the "lake of fire" You WONT KNOW what it means, UNLESS you study HEBREW!
