Topic: The Bible, an excuse for Gay Prejudice?

Can you point to a chapter and verse?  I've kind of gotten into it with a Prophetic Prayer Counselor friend and have run out of arguments. 

I have great respect for this guy but I'm not completely convinced that Jesus wouldn't make the cake for a gay wedding if only for an opportunity to witness. 

In fairness, my friend was buggered by other boys as a child so he has every reason, every right, to fight this.

I don't know what to think.  Feeling kind of lost.

I know I'm not Eaglesway :laughing7: ..but the topic interests me and I have thought the same way as you, that I might bake the wedding cake.. I'm not really sure.. I plan to get my certificate (the proper word escapes me right now) so I can marry my son and his fiance. Would I marry a gay couple, no, I wouldn't feel right about that. But would I bake a cake for their wedding, I probably would.. other believers would not, believing it would offend the Lord.. I think ppl should be able to follow their own conscience in the matter..

One person may indeed be denying the cake because of personal dislike (all groups have their 'good' and 'bad' apples, as the saying goes, even tho we all are a blend of both).. Or it may truly be their conscience believes their contributing would be wrong and unfaithful to their faith and Lord..

I certainly don't believe we should hate or dislike others, especially a whole group of others, because they are of that group.. But loving others, doesn't mean approving of all their views or of their lifestyle.. If I only cared about or was friendly with those I approve of or agree with all their views and actions, I would love no one! :o

I agree with conscience, and I'm not anyone else's..I have plenty of struggles with my own.  And unfortunately still offend it way too often after all these years.  You'd think I'd know better by now.   :sigh:

But I do think about it this way;  would you (or I?) give an alcoholic a shot of whiskey?  would I give someone struggling with pornography a sex magazine?  if my friend wanted to commit adultery with his neighbor, would I give him her #, or arrange a date for them?  Or buy him a new set of clothes so he could sneak out and meet her?  If you knew I was going to rob a bank, and of course wanted to go undetected, would you help me put my "sleuth" outfit together?

Personally, I don't see any way any of those scenarios could be seen as "holy" or legitimately providing an opportunity to witness.  Also, as far as Jesus' approach, of course I can't fully answer for Him LOL.  But while loving and showing compassion, He did say "go and sin no more".   :2c:

  image and design in anyway he can and transform God's temple into his corrupt image....and he has the power to do it..when sin

   all the gay knows is that there is no attraction for a female..but when a certain male comes near there is a sexual stirring in areas

  when they want to lead into fornication or adultery]   the man/woman notices that there is no desire stirred up in them with the

opposite sex...and concludes...I must be gay.   they do this with married men,too...no desire for the marriage bed witheir wives

  instead by placing thoughts in their minds and arousing certain body parts/daydreams/nightdreams for another woman/not his wife.

   they have the power to place thoughts in the mind and arouse body parts..people think it's their thoughts/them and haven't a clue they

are being duped by the spirit of iniquity. this is part of the mystery of iniquity being revealed.......DELIVER US FROM THE EVIL ONE

   and He will.  rebuke the thought imput..with the holy spirit  bring it into subjection[enmity of the seed] pray..cold showers etc

   these things turn people into sadists etc..nympho's etc rapists. cause wetdreams..incubus/succubus etc

.all that is not of God's spirit and image....is of this evil corrupt spirits works

            God will deliver us ALL from the evil one and make us ALL over into His incorruptible image.

    when we become one flesh..we become one spirit,too.  and when we sleep with a dog that has fleas..we get them,too..on our own body

 :cloud9: Exactly, Sheila.....that's exactly what's going on. The things have been in them sometimes since birth, and so of course, they think they were "born that way", because they were, but not for the reason they think. Deliverance is their only hope and rarely do they find anywhere to teach them the truth of it, so the Lord can move in that way. So they stay bound. Blessings....

Hi GerWat...

I was on a mission from God(LOL), hitchiking thru Kentucky to minister to someone in 1978. I was picked up by a gay man who was on his way to a club where he was a dancer. I witnessed to him, and he told me he had been raised by a woman who was a Christian and he wanted to be set free. I shared with him how much Jesus loved him, and how much power there was available to him if he would give Jesus the keys to his life, and I prayed with him. Afterwards, when he dropped me off, I sat beside the road and wept for him, and cried out to God for His soul.

Not so that he wouldnt go to "hell", just so he could know the love of God.

I wont know in this life how his future turned out, but...

The word of deliverance is a manifestation of the love of God. The same love that kept Jesus up on that cross for the joy set before him. It has to be genuine- not theoretical.

That is the only spirit that actiivates the word of God for the healing and salvation of lost souls. The word of condemnation has all the answers about why sin is sin and what sins are sins and how bad each sin is- but it has no answer for the soul captive to sin, it cannot set the creature free from futility into the glorious liberty of the children of God.

How can I be set free? Can I be set free because you convince me of how wrong, or how evil I am?

Only the touch of God, like the woman who touched the hem of Christ's garment and was healed by the virtue that went forth from Him, heals and delivers.

So, there are those who have the right words but the wrong spirit. What they see and say does not pierce the veil of sin and produce life.

This is only my opinion but God does not hold people accountable to the words of such as these. I call them "religionists". Besides, God is already sspeaking in every heart, but what they need is a witness. But a witness must speak in the same spirit as the one from whom they have received the testimony- or they are not a true witness.

The testimony of God in Christ is, "Father forgive them, they dont know what they are doing". So unless we have that SPIRIT in out WORDS, then we cannot minister life- because the letter kills. That's what I meant by the word of condemnation.

Jesus didnt spend a lot of time talking about homosexuality. Paul spoke of it as the "end result" in a society where love has fallen and men are judging one another for things they are doing themselves(Romans 1&2).

When people hear words they listen and they decide what they think, but when people are touched by the love of God they will change, one way or the other.So we, as believers need to pray that the word that brings deliverance will rise up in us, out of the love, the same love, that God has for the lost- that He would send His only begotten Son to suffer and die -to find them.
