Should Christians take up arms?

I think you have to know what you are shooting for .
Is your goal to have the mind of Christ .
If so are there things of the world that distract you now, but you hope you can over come .
Is carrying a gun something to overcome?

Like giving it up for Christ?

Could be I guess.  Happy is the man that does not condemn himself by that which he allows.

Each individual has a personal relationship with the Lord, and they together will work it out.

If, you picked up the NT and you knew nothing about human nature, human logic, human common sense, you just understood the words that were on the paper and you read the NT and the teachings, would you come away with any sense of violence, be it self- defense or otherwise?

In my opinion, we all live in a time that our thinking comes from the history of our beginning, whether that be the wheel, America's Revolution, Civil War, and wars up unto the distress of 3/2015, robbery, crime, riots, etc. Our at least mine, mindset is to physically defend self, family, friend, country……faith.
Just wondering is that mindset of the mind of Christ?  :Chinscratch: :HeartThrob:

Freedom seems to be godly to me. 

"We hold these truths to be self-evident: that all men are created equal; that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable rights; that among these are life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness."

God saw fit to put Jesus in a perfect place in history.  His ministry was to "the lost sheep of Israel".  That is all he ever knew, one place in history, with one specific ministry.

Now in bringing the gospel to the world, Jesus is no longer bound to that culture, climate, and political system, nor are we, thank God.
