No

Sometimes  I hope that it is, because sometimes I just want to end. Sleep and know nothing about anything.

  Hi Raider

In what way do  you wonder if its true or a lie ?

I notice you have no   definition    of what you consider Annihilation   in the Bible

the total destruction    of  the world ?

In the sense of the old world      it was  destroyed by water        and left watery graves  , but  8   humans    were  saved  by water   in the days of Noah
Jesus said in the days of Noah will the coming of the Son of man be       and  Holy Spirit  &  fire it what will save  this time

By   the brightness of HIS COMING

2 THESS  2 he Man of Sin
...7For the mystery of lawlessness is already at work; only he who now restrains will do so until he is taken out of the way.

8Then that lawless one will be revealed whom the Lord will slay with the breath of His mouth and bring to an end by the appearance of His coming;

9that is, the one whose coming is in accord with the activity of Satan, with all power and signs and false wonders,

we need the full  chapter   2        , but for the sake of  space   this is how  the man of sin  will be destroyed

Now another verse    Jesus says many will not taste death TILL   they see the Son of man coming in the clouds    , this prophecy    is a reality to many as me
my  own  man of sin was   destroyed and       taken out of the way by the brightness of his coming and I tasted death  for it  and the fiery trial was  harsh    and was glad it was over

I am one whom sees this as    each in His own order   ,  type     work of God though the Holy Spirit and fire      and that is why no man  knows the time or hour  not even the angels or Jesus but the Father only

Many do not see this  as I do ,    but that is just me     only  , I dont know if anyone else here sees this    also
good question by the way !!

I just  felt you should  get an answer

God bless you in your searching
Jesus is the reward  !!

Yes the   entering     the rest  of God    , the Lord speaks of  in Hebrews  4    by  his   apostles /   Spirit witnesses

not the death   men seek and it flees from you in Rev 9
correct ?

Well you know, they are just personal thoughts that pop into my head from time to time. I keep reading left and right that the wages of sin is death, and death to me is no longer having any life. Since I am full of sin, and I feel a defeated man in everything that I do, well, maybe it would just be best that I go away to nothingness and be remembered no more. End of story, that's it. At least that way I will neither sin no more, nor feel defeated anymore.

Awe  , God bless you Bro ,
I   understand that ,  we all are sinners saved by Jesus gift of grace by the Father

as long as we remain mortal , sin is in our members        hiding  in our hearts  to make an appearance

Its the Lord Jesus who destroys the works of Satan   ,  we could never save ourselves
I would  keep asking Him for   deliverance         , you can do this every time sin rises up  in you , just put it to death in Jesus name
I know that sounds easy and ''churchy ''       but I am telling you it is a daily battle       for all of us but the Victory has already been won in Jesus    Christ

our Hope is in the Lord to fulfill all things   and we wait on Him to do it ,  this is how  we learn and lean on Him    not of ourselves  ,  we  are always  defeated then
Jesus is the reward  !!

There are many verses of scripture that rule out annihilation, as I see it. I have to confess that I would almost prefer to believe in a little annihilation. I know I am supposed to rejoice that eventually Hitler, serieal killers, pedophiles, will all be saved, but I have seen some things in my life that make me wonder :o)

However, I am a student of the scriptures and I cannot get around the eventual salvation of all, even the extremely wicked.

Eph 1 clearly says that God is gathering all things together into one in Christ
                                                      v
Eph 1:9 having made known to us the mystery of His will, according to His good pleasure which He purposed in Himself, 10 that in the dispensation of the fullness of the times(through outworking of the ages) He might gather together in one all things in Christ, both which are in heaven and which are on earth—in Him.

Colossians 1 clearly defines what "all" means, and tells us "all things will be reconciled by the blood of His cross"
                                                      v

Col 1:19 15 He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation. 16 For by Him all things were created that are in heaven and that are on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or principalities or powers. All things were created through Him and for Him. 17 And He is before all things, and in Him all things consist. 18 And He is the head of the body, the church, who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead, that in all things He may have the preeminence. For it pleased the Father that in Him all the fullness should dwell, 20 and by Him to reconcile all things to Himself, by Him, whether things on earth or things in heaven, having made peace through the blood of His cross.

All things that He created
All things that He is over
All things He is before
All things in heaven and earth.

Remember John 1: 2 He was in the beginning with God. 3 All things were made through Him, and without Him nothing was made that was made. If everything He created will be reconciled, that means evryone, every being.

I Cor 15 tells us all will be saved, even the adversaries
                                                            v

1 Cor 15:22 For as in Adam ALL die, even so in Christ ALL shall be made alive. 23 But each one in his own order: Christ the firstfruits, afterward those who are Christ's at His coming. 24 Then comes the end, when He delivers the kingdom to God the Father, when He puts an end to all rule and all authority and power. 25 For He must reign till He has put all enemies under His feet. 26 The last enemy that will be destroyed is death. 27 For "He has put ALL things under His feet." But when He says "all things are put under Him," it is evident that He who put all things under Him is excepted. 28 Now when ALL things are made subject to Him, then the Son Himself will also be subject to Him who put ALL things under Him, THAT GOD MAY BE ALL IN ALL.

If some of the adversaries are annihilated,

1)God cannot become ALL IN ALL....making 1 cor 15 untrue

2)ALL will not be gathered in to one in Christ....making Eph 1 untrue

3)All will not be reconciled...making Colossians 1 untrue

Romans 11:32-36 clearly show the scope of God's plan and breadth and depth of Hos glory in the fulfillment of His plan, His wisdom.
                                                           v

Rom 11 32 For God has committed  all to disobedience, that He might have mercy on all.

33 Oh, the depth of the riches both of the wisdom and knowledge of God! How unsearchable are His judgments and His ways past finding out!

34 "For who has known the mind of the Lord?
Or who has become His counselor?"
35 "Or who has first given to Him
And it shall be repaid to him?"
36 For from Him and through Him and to Him are all things, to whom be glory forever. Amen.

If some of creation is annihilated .......He doesnt have mercy on all, so then all things are from Him and through Him BUT NOT TO HIM...making Romans 11 a lie

There are more, but these scriptures wrap it up for me. I believe in ultimate universal reconciliation not necessarily because I want to, but because I have always loved the word of God, and it leaves me no choice, but to believe in the "restoration of all things" spoken of by all the prophets from ancient times(Acts 3:19)
The Logos is complete, but it is not completely understood. http://www.hell-is-a-myth.webs.com/

Cheer up, bro..."the ignoble and the contemptible things of the world God chooses" (1 Corinthians 1:28). That includes me and you and everybody else on this site. You are a unique creation of God designed for a specific purpose, and God loves you just as much as everybody else. Sometimes when we feel like giving up it's because we're trying too hard to do things all by ourselves instead of seeking to do God's will. Don't be so down on yourself. It's no fun when we're in the midst of adversity, but it makes us stronger in the long run and makes us realize we have to look to God to save us. The purpose of evil is to humble us.

"It is an experience of evil Elohim has given to the sons of humanity to humble them by it." (Ecclesiastes 1:13)

That's why God created it.

"Former of light and Creator of darkness, Maker of good and Creator of evil. I, Yahweh Elohim, made all of these things." (Isaiah 45:7)

Annihilationism is bogus because God's ultimate plan is to be "all in all" (1 Corinthians 15:28)

Is it Biblical?  :dontknow:

I believe not. In addition to what others have said, I believe that the pattern of the Bible shows a movement from natural to spiritual. Apostle Paul said that the natural man receives not the things of God, for they are spiritually discerned. And he said to know the things of God we must compare spiritual to spiritual, not by the words which man teaches but that the Holy Spirit teaches. So, since the scripture is Spirit breathed, and the Spirit taught the doctrine that the Apostles declared, we can understand the "fire" scriptures through comparison of scripture to scripture. We must not compare spiritual to natural, but spiritual with spiritual. The fire is not natural, but there are many many scriptures in the OT and NT which connect with eachother to explain the usage of "fire" in a spiritual way. The day of the Lord is not like Hitler's concentration camps. It will be a time of spiritual humbling and repentance.

No annihilation.
If some are annilhilated, how can Yah ever be all in all?
If the lake of fire is for the ages of the ages, then when the ages come to an end, what scripture says they will be annihilated?
If Yah is to reconcile all things to himself, then how could anyone be permanently annihilated?
If the scriptures do not teach annihilation (and they don't), then what has anyone to base this belief upon?

Raider, you do NOT want to be annihilated.
Forgive me if I am being too personal, but that sounds pretty morbid.
Yah is good. Yah is life. Life is good!
Your life is worth everything to Jesus!

Yeah I know it sounds morbid, but I'm not suicidal. Thank you all for the uplifting words of kindness, it shows you care and I really appreciate that, thank you.

In my view, annihilation is much more Biblical and merciful than eternal torment. Here are some verses which are often used to support annihilation

The soul that does sin--it does die. (Ezekiel 18:20)

Malachi 4:1
"For behold, athe day is coming,

Burning like an oven,

And all bthe proud, yes, all who do wickedly will be cstubble.

And the day which is coming shall burn them up,"

Says the Lord of hosts,

"That will leave them neither root nor branch.

Matthew 10:28
28 And do not fear those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul. But rather fear Him who is able to destroy both soul and body in hell.

John 3:16
16 For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.

Romans 6:23
23 For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.

On another note, it's important to point out that aside from pagan origins, the eternal torment doctrine also became popular after Dante Allighiari (or however his name is spelled) wrote a poem called The Divine Comedy.

Friend, your feelings do not enter into it - God saves you no matter what.  It just is.
Socrates taught Plato.  Plato taught Aristotle.  Aristotle tutored the son of Philip of Macedon.  This boy grew up to become Alexander the Great, largely by slaughtering a lot of people.  That's philosophy.

Jesus spoke the Truth.  He blessed the poor.  He healed the sick.  He even raised the dead.  He died on a cross for us, lived again, and came back long enough to tell us to love one another.  That's religion.

YHVH = Behold the Nail, Behold the Hand = Jesus

I believe that   If you had the power as God does  , and your  descriptions are Love  and Spirit and Truth and a consuming fire
would you get rid of evil in the people
not get rid of the people ???
and Being the Savior of the world,  what is Jesus saving  you  from  than  ?   EVIL ,  sin / error  death ?

I believe we are here to learn righteousness and  hate evil
for me that is the sole purpose of evil    and its not forever

And the  main thing that impressed on me   most   that    almost  no  religious   people consider at all , to what they  agree to believe in ,

IS   OBEDIENCE  , Jesus telling us to be perfect  as the   Heavenly Father   is perfect  Matt 5  beatitudes, LOVE YOUR ENEMIES

and NO ONE  really takes that to heart !!!!!!!!!!

They honestly think ''going to church '' is what saves them ?????  :dontknow: :sigh: :sigh:

If you do not go to church your ''in the wrong ''
Jesus is the reward  !!

Tom

"Be not conquered by evil; but conquer evil with good." (Romans 12:21)

"For the entire law is fulfilled in one word, in this: "You shall love your associate as yourself."" (Galatians 5:14)

Yes, Rose.

Yah created evil for a purpose.
Yah knew you would fall into sin.
It was part of his will that we fall from his grace.
The fall was NOT of the will of man, but of the will of Yah.
Things didn't just go awry with the creation apart from his will.
If that had been the case, Yah would have failed - not possible.
By causing us to experience the darkness, Yah enables us to see his LIGHT.
So remember that when you sin, it is part of his plan.
Don't be hard on yourself when you fail.
Yah will pick you up, dust you off, and embrace you with LOVE.

It's absolutely a Biblical. But not complete.

Sin, bad standard, unholy things in general get annihilated. Most people don't see it but the NT is full of references to purification. We are all gold with dross in it. The Great Refiner will annihilate the dross and the pure gold is saved.

1 Timothy 2:3-4  ...God our Savior;  Who will have all men to be saved...
John 12:47  And if any man hear my words, and believe not, I judge him not: for I came not to judge the world, but to save the world.
Romans 4:5 But to the one who does not work, but believes in the one who declares the ungodly righteous ...
