Daniel 7:25, "And he shall speak great words against the most High, and shall wear out the saints of the most High, and think to change times and laws: and they shall be given into his hand until a time and times and the dividing of time."

The Pope has the power to change times, to abrogate laws, and to dispense with all things, even the precepts of Christ." "The Pope has the authority and often exercised it, to dispense with the command of Christ." -Decretal, de Tranlatic Episcop. Cap. (The Pope can modify divine law.) Ferraris' Ecclesiastical Dictionary.

ab·ro·gate

tr.v. ab·ro·gat·ed, ab·ro·gat·ing, ab·ro·gates

Is this the same mediation that allows perversion among its priests who prey upon its children and hides the transgressions under transfers and denials?

I agree with all of you:

Also:

The term "vicar" comes from the Latin word vicarius, which means "instead of." In the Catholic Church, the vicar is the representative of a higher-ranking official, with all of the same authority and power that that official has. Calling the pope the "Vicar of Christ" implies that he has the same power and authority that Christ had over the church.

There is only one mediator between God and men, and that is Jesus Christ (1 Timothy 2:5)

3 John 4 - I have no greater joy than to hear that my children walk in truth.

The pope uses the title "Pontifex Maximus".
Maximus = greatest
Pontifex=bridge builder over the sacred river Tiber --> The bridge between God and mankind. That makes the pope the mediator between God and mankind.
1Tim 2:5 For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus;

Cardinal-->Cardo=hinge. Cardinals assisted Janus operating the gate of paradise.

The Roman emperors had the title Pontifex Maximus is Etruscan (region in Italy) was the head of the priest of Janus.
The pope is the gate to after-life.
John 14:6 Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man comes to the Father, but by me.

1 Timothy 2:3-4  ...God our Savior;  Who will have all men to be saved...
John 12:47  And if any man hear my words, and believe not, I judge him not: for I came not to judge the world, but to save the world.
Romans 4:5 But to the one who does not work, but believes in the one who declares the ungodly righteous ...

This is an official title of the Pope, and its numerical equivalent.

Socrates taught Plato.  Plato taught Aristotle.  Aristotle tutored the son of Philip of Macedon.  This boy grew up to become Alexander the Great, largely by slaughtering a lot of people.  That's philosophy.

Jesus spoke the Truth.  He blessed the poor.  He healed the sick.  He even raised the dead.  He died on a cross for us, lived again, and came back long enough to tell us to love one another.  That's religion.

This book has a ton of historical information and all the archeological connections you could want linking ancient paganism with papal Rome. And the author was a believer in the salvation of all.

I believe fear is the default setting for anyone who seeks control.

If fear is the default setting, guilt is the alternate default.

I am in agreement with what you say
about the Pope and the other upper rungs of clergy just under the Pope, they are worried about their positions of authority and power over the laity caught up within the clutches of their church and of course the money they selfishly rake in and squeeze out of their flocks, they are afraid of losing this worldly power over others.

It is hard to believe how many people Idolize the Pope, their church and hang on every word that is spoken by the Pope to be infallible and to be followed to the letter.

Just read in the news today that the Pope arrived in South Korea and that North Korea fired three rockets into the sea in protest to what they see or imagine as a provocation and tied to the upcoming military drills being conducted by South Korea and US forces, I suppose that is the type of situations the Pope must face because of his worldly influence and power over so many people world wide.

If in this life only we have hope in Christ we are of all men most miserable.

Lol so true WW also what about that staff he so proudly displays with the sun on the end of it. And the most despicable thing ever was back when the pope changed the day of observance to Sunday (sun worship first day of week) instead of the Sabbath (ordained by Yahweh and the last day of the week).
Exodus 20:8-11GOD'S WORD Translation (GW)

8 "Remember the day of worship by observing it as a holy day. 9 You have six days to do all your work. 10 The seventh day is the day of worship dedicated to the Lord your God. You, your sons, your daughters, your male and female slaves, your cattle, and the foreigners living in your city must never do any work on that day. 11 In six days the Lord made heaven, earth, and the sea, along with everything in them. He didn't work on the seventh day. That's why the Lord blessed the day he stopped his work and set this day apart as holy.
