Joh 8:44  Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it.

Rom 3:4  God forbid: yea, let God be true, but every man a liar; as it is written, That thou mightest be justified in thy sayings, and mightest overcome when thou art judged.

Psa 116:11  I said in my haste, All men are liars.

Mat_25:41  Then shall he say also unto them on the left hand, Depart from me, ye cursed, into everlasting fire, prepared for the devil and his angels:[/b]

Rev_12:9  And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, which deceiveth the whole world: he was cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him.

Rev_20:10  And the devil that deceived them was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone, where the beast and the false prophet are, and shall be tormented day and night for ever and ever.

1Jn_3:8  He that committeth sin is of the devil; for the devil sinneth from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil.

Luk 15:4  What man of you, having an hundred sheep, if he lose one of them, doth not leave the ninety and nine in the wilderness, and go after that which is lost, until he find it?
Luk 15:5  And when he hath found it, he layeth it on his shoulders, rejoicing.
Luk 15:6  And when he cometh home, he calleth together his friends and neighbours, saying unto them, Rejoice with me; for I have found my sheep which was lost.
Luk 15:7  I say unto you, that likewise joy shall be in heaven over one sinner that repenteth, more than over ninety and nine just persons, which need no repentance.

RePent: Re (to bring back), Pent (fenced in, or containing. A pen contains ink). So to repent is to bring back in, just as  the lost sheep was brought back in to the fold.

The 99 were just persons, that needed no repentence.

Is Satan the one lost sheep that needed repentence (to be brought back in) to again abide in the truth? And Satan's angels with him?

imo, The "Lake of Fire" The "Eternal Fire" is God's eternal Truth and Righteousness, a refining fire.
Heb 12:29  For our God is a consuming fire.

Are we Satan's angels (children), the one's thrown out of heaven by Michael, separated from God's abode (eternity) because of our unrighteousness? :flamebreath:

It makes me take another look at Genesis!

:cloud9: I had this thought one day, and told a friend. About 2 weeks later, she emailed me all excited because she had read on another forum somewhere a post from someone who said, "Am I crazy or are WE the fallen angels?". Angels means message, or messengers.  Sometimes I wonder. My  :2c: Blessings....

when we are in the image of the corrupt one....we do his bidding/works,speak his words[liar/accusor] etc.......

strange thing about man...in that all  bear the 'image' of the corrupt one...and so,too, shall all men

" bear the image of the incorrupt one."  good/evil contrast

As I wrote in another thread 'image' can also mean something like 'representative', an angel is exactly that imo.

That raises some questions. A messenger must bring messages to others. A representative of God must represent Him to others. Who are/were those others?
1 Timothy 2:3-4  ...God our Savior;  Who will have all men to be saved...
John 12:47  And if any man hear my words, and believe not, I judge him not: for I came not to judge the world, but to save the world.
Romans 4:5 But to the one who does not work, but believes in the one who declares the ungodly righteous ...

I agree that angels are messengers, but also consider this in Hebrews:

Heb 1:13  But to which of the angels said he at any time, Sit on my right hand, until I make thine enemies thy footstool?
Heb 1:14  Are they not all ministering spirits, sent forth to minister for them who shall be heirs of salvation?

From Online Etymology:
minister (v.)  early 14c., "to perform religious rites, provide religious services;" mid-14c., "to serve (food or drink);" late 14c. "render service or aid," from Old French menistrer "to serve, be of service, administer, attend, wait on," and directly from Latin ministrare "to serve, attend, wait upon" (see minister (n.)). Related: Ministered; ministering.

Notice Heb 1:14; "Are they not ALL ministering spirits..."

Would this include Satan's angels as well?

Maybe so...
1Co 5:5  To deliver such an one unto Satan for the destruction of the flesh, that the spirit may be saved in the day of the Lord Jesus.

18 For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who hold the truth in unrighteousness;

Romans 1:19 Because that which may be known of God is manifest in them; for God hath shewed it unto them.

20 For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse:

21 Because that, when they knew God, they glorified him not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened.

22 Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools,

Jude :4 For there are certain men crept in unawares, who were before of old ordained to this condemnation, ungodly men, turning the grace of our God into lasciviousness, and denying the only Lord God, and our Lord Jesus Christ.

5 I will therefore put you in remembrance, though ye once knew this, how that the Lord, having saved the people out of the land of Egypt, afterward destroyed them that believed not.

6 And the angels which kept not their first estate, but left their own habitation, he hath reserved in everlasting chains under darkness unto the judgment of the great day.

I would say that their are fallen messengers among men and among angels. :o)

I agree that angels are messengers,
My point was that the man Adam was created in His image, as His messenger, as His representative.

QuoteNotice Heb 1:14; "Are they not ALL ministering spirits..."

That's hard to answer. Even harder for me to write down. So I do it in steps.

1] I think they once were.

2] If the angels fell literally and/or figuratively it means a change off position in some way. You can't fall from being good when you allway were evil. You can't fall from serving God when you alway oppossed Him.

3] Of course there is also another view:
1 John 3:8 The one who does what is sinful is of the devil, because the devil has been sinning from the beginning. The reason the Son of God appeared was to destroy the devil's work.

The question is beginning of what? Beginning of Genesis/earth? The beginning when God created the angels? Another beginning? I think John can't be conclusively be used to support any position. But in Genesis we do read about the beginning of mankind. The Bible is about God dealing with mankind. So I edge toward that John was talking about the early verses of Genesis.

1 Timothy 2:3-4  ...God our Savior;  Who will have all men to be saved...
John 12:47  And if any man hear my words, and believe not, I judge him not: for I came not to judge the world, but to save the world.

Is God's kingdom mayhem? Or is God in control of everything and has He created everything for His Glory?

In my opinion, freewill, whether of Angels or men, is limited. I think that as God is perfect, His plan of salvation is also perfect.

God allowed Adam to eat from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. I don't think He hoped Adam wouldn't partake. I think God knew he would.

This is all about God creating man in his own image, and that image includes love, being humble and being forgiving As God's children, we need to learn those lessons first hand.

I think that He appoints each of us a different service, so that we in turn, help each other learn. Paul addressing the Romans talks about this:

Rom 9:17  For the scripture saith unto Pharaoh, Even for this same purpose have I raised thee up, that I might shew my power in thee, and that my name might be declared throughout all the earth.
Rom 9:18  Therefore hath he mercy on whom he will have mercy, and whom he will he hardeneth.
Rom 9:19  Thou wilt say then unto me, Why doth he yet find fault? For who hath resisted his will?
Rom 9:20  Nay but, O man, who art thou that repliest against God? Shall the thing formed say to him that formed it, Why hast thou made me thus?
Rom 9:21  Hath not the potter power over the clay, of the same lump to make one vessel unto honour, and another unto dishonour?
Rom 9:22  What if God, willing to shew his wrath, and to make his power known, endured with much longsuffering the vessels of wrath fitted to destruction:
Rom 9:23  And that he might make known the riches of his glory on the vessels of mercy, which he had afore prepared unto glory,
Rom 9:24  Even us, whom he hath called, not of the Jews only, but also of the Gentiles?

I often thought that this was unfair and that Paul's answer was flippant. But I see all of this as part of God's awesome plan of salvation.

Probably the same thing with Satan, as he was created with perfect wisdom, he became conceited and proud and though himself equal with God.

Imagine if we were created that way as well? How would we learn humility? Have you ever had the misfortune of being around a pious, self-righteous person? They are proud and condescending.

Satan is being brought down as well. I think he also is learning humility, through seeing the humble life of the saints. Could be wrong, maybe he can't change.  :dontknow:

In my opinion, God has given us limited freewill, confined within His limitations. I absolutely don't think that we have freewill to make a final decision about our eternal destiny. We are His children, His creation and he will repent (bring back in) all of his children. :dsunny:

Interesting that you brought this up. Most of the West has taught that Satan is the arch enemy of God, fighting against him. Traditional Hebrew thought (including todays Judaism) teaches that hasatan ('not a name, but a description of him as 'the opposer') is a servant of God, created to be, not an opposer of God, but of man, ultimately for our growth and learning. Job, the man you mentioned in the congregation of Corinth, Hymenaeus and Alexander (1Ti 1:20), are among those who learned from their opposition by the opposer.
