If you look up the word (http://dl.dropbox.com/u/5638259/ah/du.png)(http://dl.dropbox.com/u/5638259/ah/bo.png)(http://dl.dropbox.com/u/5638259/ah/ah.png) in a standard American work, such as Strong's, you will find the following definitions:

H6  'abad  aw-bad'

a primitive root;

properly, to wander away, i.e. lose oneself; by implication to perish (causative, destroy).

KJV: break, destroy(- uction), + not escape, fail, lose, (cause to, make) perish, spend, X  and surely, take, be undone, X  utterly, be void of, have no way to flee.

What I am always interested in is the original concrete action meaning that comes straight from the meaning of the letters making up the word, not all of the watered down understandings that become attached to the word later in history, which we see with most words as they 'devolve' from their original source, the Creator.

Thankfully, at times Strong's concordance (the original edition anyway, not the newer edition) contains glimpses of these mountaintop meanings, which will usually be the first definition given. Here we see that properly, Abawd means 'to wander away'.

Because this is mostly not known, I would like to add the aspect of how that meaning comes...namely, by a study of the letters making up that word. There is actually a great spiritual lesson found in considering this word, not seen or expressed in English or any other translated language.

Although all conjugated roots contain three letters, words in Hebrew actually consist of what I call 'marriage roots', which are two letters making up the base meaning of the word. Any other letter added brings further nuance to that base meaning.

The two letter root here is (http://dl.dropbox.com/u/5638259/ah/du.png)(http://dl.dropbox.com/u/5638259/ah/bo.png) and these two letters picture the action of something entering [(http://dl.dropbox.com/u/5638259/ah/bo.png)] down [(http://dl.dropbox.com/u/5638259/ah/du.png)]. The first picture bet is that of a home, which one enters into. The second picture dalet is that of a tent door flap, which hangs down.

Up in Hebraic thought is a picture of our source, since all things come from God. To go in the opposite direction is to wander away from that source, which I translate as 'isolate'. This is the meaning of that two letter marriage root.

You will find it in such words as:

H9 (http://dl.dropbox.com/u/5638259/ah/he.png)(http://dl.dropbox.com/u/5638259/ah/du.png)(http://dl.dropbox.com/u/5638259/ah/bo.png)(http://dl.dropbox.com/u/5638259/ah/ah.png) meaning 'lost'.

H905 (http://dl.dropbox.com/u/5638259/ah/du.png)(http://dl.dropbox.com/u/5638259/ah/bo.png) meaning 'alone' and 'poles' as in the two isolated poles of the ark of the covenant.

H907 (http://dl.dropbox.com/u/5638259/ah/du.png)(http://dl.dropbox.com/u/5638259/ah/bo.png) meaning 'lie' or 'pretense'.

H908 (http://dl.dropbox.com/u/5638259/ah/ah.png)(http://dl.dropbox.com/u/5638259/ah/du.png)(http://dl.dropbox.com/u/5638259/ah/bo.png) meaning 'feign'.

H909 (http://dl.dropbox.com/u/5638259/ah/du.png)(http://dl.dropbox.com/u/5638259/ah/du.png)(http://dl.dropbox.com/u/5638259/ah/bo.png) meaning 'solitary'.

H914 (http://dl.dropbox.com/u/5638259/ah/lu.png)(http://dl.dropbox.com/u/5638259/ah/du.png)(http://dl.dropbox.com/u/5638259/ah/bo.png) meaning 'to separate'.

There are more, but hopefully you get the picture. Now, what nuance does the first letter (http://dl.dropbox.com/u/5638259/ah/ah.png) provide? Aleph, being the first letter of the alephbet, and unique among every other letter (if you want to know why let me know and I would be happy to provide another post on that) pictures the Creator (not in an idolatrous way).

The action portrayed by this letter is to cultivate, since that is what oxen were primarily used for, to prepare for use. All things can be said to be cultivated by YHWH.

There is a double meaning that I get when I meditate on this word which we erroneously translate 'destroy'. Keep in mind the base meaning of the word is 'isolate'.

Someone who is (http://dl.dropbox.com/u/5638259/ah/du.png)(http://dl.dropbox.com/u/5638259/ah/bo.png)(http://dl.dropbox.com/u/5638259/ah/ah.png) is one who is isolated (http://dl.dropbox.com/u/5638259/ah/du.png)(http://dl.dropbox.com/u/5638259/ah/bo.png) from (http://dl.dropbox.com/u/5638259/ah/ah.png) in his mind. This is something cultivated by YHWH (which is why the letter aleph is in the first position) which is a good thing, since it is used by him to bring about an ultimate good for those trained by it. He gives man time to live in that mindset, experiencing life as if there were no Creator, as if man were truly separate from him. Anyone who has experienced isolation knows it is not a good thing. It is not good for man to be alone (http://dl.dropbox.com/u/5638259/ah/du.png)(http://dl.dropbox.com/u/5638259/ah/bo.png). Yet in that isolated state of mind, the Creator is right there, sourcing it for the ultimate good.

As an aside, to show this concept in another word, take the word for 'mankind' (http://dl.dropbox.com/u/5638259/ah/mo.png)(http://dl.dropbox.com/u/5638259/ah/du.png)(http://dl.dropbox.com/u/5638259/ah/ah.png). Adam comes from the marriage root (http://dl.dropbox.com/u/5638259/ah/mo.png)(http://dl.dropbox.com/u/5638259/ah/du.png) meaning 'blood'. The added (http://dl.dropbox.com/u/5638259/ah/ah.png) completes the picture showing that the Creator is connected to the blood, and is the cultivating source of it. In other words, (http://dl.dropbox.com/u/5638259/ah/mo.png)(http://dl.dropbox.com/u/5638259/ah/du.png) without (http://dl.dropbox.com/u/5638259/ah/ah.png) is just lifeless fluid. There is a physical component to man, sustained and activated by the spiritual component, if you will.

How vastly different, and magnificent, is it to know that what man calls 'destruction' is actually an isolation, one in total control of our Maker, for our ultimate good! And, taking it a step further, how good it is to know that all that is of a lie pertaining to us, all that is false that we have come to believe about ourselves, and the acts out of the false mindset tied to sin in the flesh, is
(http://dl.dropbox.com/u/5638259/ah/du.png)(http://dl.dropbox.com/u/5638259/ah/bo.png)(http://dl.dropbox.com/u/5638259/ah/ah.png), forever isolated, by his revealing fire.

:cloud9: Ronen, I ABSOLUTELY LOVE what you share, please share more. I can so "see" what you are sharing. What does the "zig-zag" letter mean? Blessings....

That is a picture of waves of water, where we get our M from, and I understand it to convey the action 'snip' completely', as in to snip off the end of something. We get the word 'circumcision' (http://dl.dropbox.com/u/5638259/ah/lu.png)(http://dl.dropbox.com/u/5638259/ah/wu.png)(http://dl.dropbox.com/u/5638259/ah/mo.png) from it.

The snipped portion is 'from' the source of which it was snipped. This is why the letter as a prefix can indicate the word 'from' (most often with a yod (http://dl.dropbox.com/u/5638259/ah/ye.png) [the working arm] following it to indicate the action or object is from something or somewhere), and why it is also used at the beginning of a verb (most often with a waw (http://dl.dropbox.com/u/5638259/ah/wu.png) [tent peg] following it to indicate a connection), to change a verb to a noun based on the action of that verb. Both concepts can be seen in the beginning of Berecrap where life comes FROM the dividing of the waters from the waters both vertically and horizontally.

When at the beginning of a word it indicates the action 'snip' and when used as an added nuance to a root it and at the end of a root it indicates 'complete', as what happens when water is poured into a container, it completely fills all corners of it. An example of this is the word for 'complete' (http://dl.dropbox.com/u/5638259/ah/mo.png)(http://dl.dropbox.com/u/5638259/ah/to.png).

This is probably more info than you were looking for.  :laughing7:

The waters were 'isolated (http://dl.dropbox.com/u/5638259/ah/lu.png)(http://dl.dropbox.com/u/5638259/ah/du.png)(http://dl.dropbox.com/u/5638259/ah/bo.png) from each other vertically, and the physical space between the two he called 'heaven'.
The waters were also isolated from each other horizontally, and the physical space between them he called 'land'.

I'm extremely interested in this, too,Ronen.   Harvest can also mean 'circumcize'..which is 'snipping'

  off after the cultivation..

the 'alone' isolation..what is similiar to destruction..ties in well with...he who looses his life

in this world for thesake of the kingdm of heaven..preserves it........

I was given a series of dreams last year..with themes of big wave/water, cultivation/harvest

also..message  from Gabriel..'you should not be alone'...so very interested in all this! TY

sheila

 ps..also a tractor motiff in the dream/scene....tractor-to draw/drag/-ox-alef/sprinkle/moisten

  associated with 'cultivation/cultivator".

I am also considering Paul's words about..desiring to depart to dwell with the Lord forever...
