I was a Baptist for 17 years before Yah worked out his will in my life and started teaching me his wonderful truths. Now I am a UR and am as a outcast who is going against the church according to my Baptist friends and I  also lean towards the Preterist view in end time teachings, this even makes me more of an outcast.

There's no congregations around me or that I am aware of anywhere close to me.

What should I do and where should I go ??

Look forward to hearing from all of you on this subject    :dsunny:

That's a problem for many of us.  It's nice to have fellowship with like-minded people, but heap UR people together, and we'd just become another organization-entangled church.  Even here in larghish Kansas City, I know of universalist churches, but no Christian universalist churches.  At least, find a church which puts love on the forefront, not condemnation.  :declare:
Socrates taught Plato.  Plato taught Aristotle.  Aristotle tutored the son of Philip of Macedon.  This boy grew up to become Alexander the Great, largely by slaughtering a lot of people.  That's philosophy.

Jesus spoke the Truth.  He blessed the poor.  He healed the sick.  He even raised the dead.  He died on a cross for us, lived again, and came back long enough to tell us to love one another.  That's religion.

YHVH = Behold the Nail, Behold the Hand = Jesus

:cloud9: my  :2c:  Decades ago, in anguish of spirit while in a church, I asked Him where I could go to be fed (while listening to what would be my last fly away or turn and burn sermon), and He replied, "On the mountaintop."

I've found you can have fellowship as far as praise and worship, with just about anybody that calls on the name of the Lord, you just can't talk much afterwards.  :footmouth:  Blessings....

Maybe we UR could start coming together in our own communities in our own houses and gather together all in one mind and one accord just like in the new testament.

just a thought though   :HeartThrob:

:cloud9: I think that's the best solution, personally. Blessings....

I too long for real fellowship with those of UR beliefs. Even though we (believers in the salvation of all) will never agree 100 percent on everything in this life, the forum does fill a need through virtual fellowship. A more ideal solution is to meet with those of like mind in house groups as a desirable goal. About one month ago I quit attending an "organized church" with its hierarchy and "statement of beliefs". No regrets at all, happy I did.

Heb 10:25 (CLV) not forsaking the assembling of ourselves, according as the custom of some is, but entreating, and so much rather as you are observing the day drawing near.

It is a dilemma for me personally. I do not feel an exchange on the internet or meeting via streaming video is the total answer.

J. Preston Eby has written a good article on this subject, which I assume many of us have read entitled "Forsake not the Assembling". You can google it or find it on tentmaker I think.

Yes, I fondly remember a home church I attended many years ago in Kansas City.  In time it got misdirected by the Great Commission International, but that's another story.  As a new Christian, it was a good place to be at the time.  I'd do it again.  I know there's at least one other Tentmaker member in the area...

:cloud9: My  :2c: for what it's worth. I asked Him years ago why He had spaced us all so far from one another. His reply was to show me each head of each person on a map of North America, as the intersection of lines between those points, or heads. In other words, He was creating a FISH NET. Blessings....

Profound, but I have to wonder how God is doing that very thing. And what part do you or I have in this process as time goes on?

not to change the subject--but I did a study of this before and you will find it very interesting just what the day they were not forsaking really was   :dsunny:

:cloud9: Great! Do share, do share.....

As for me, the meaning it is to this date (open to review), is that I've never stopped assembling. If His body is Spirit, then WHOEVER He brings in my presence via His Spirit is Him forming His body. We are one body, many members. I don't see that all the pieces have to be in a particular building on a particular day. All it means to me to leave a building is....CELL DIVISION, new life is being formed!

I always tell anyone who asks me where "I go" to church at: I AM the church, I don't have to GO anywhere to have church, wherever I AM, there is church! Wherever two or more   are gathered.... :dsunny: Blessings....

PS. It also helped one day when I "heard" this scripture in whole new way......to be absent from the BODY, is to be present with the Lord. Gotta go up on the mountaintop alone!

regarding not to forsake the assembling of ourselves together--you have to realize that this was the new testament Christians he was referring unto--it was a different time and culture at that point in time.

you also have to consider original time--what I mean by this is in Gen. at creation--it was the EVENING and the morning was the first day--our time has been changed today and our morning starts off the first part of our day--well in the Apostles time it still was the EVENING and morning(6:00 sundown was the beginning of the day--6:00 sundown to 6:00 sundown was 1 day--when reading the new testament you must keep that in mind).

Even though the Christians did not offer animal sacrifices in the new testament because they knew the shadow type had been fulfilled--sacrifices was still going on in that day and time.

a close study will also show that the Christians also still observed the Sabbath days(Holy days)or Feasts which were yearly.

they also still honored the weekly Sabbath--they held the 7th day and not like most of Christianity today the 1st day(this is a touchy topic to some--but a close study in the new testament will show forth)

example--other mistranslation of some texts are the phrase first day of the week(in the epistles I mean--not the 4 gospels)when a close study is done it is really should be first day of weeks---which is Feast of Weeks--which was Feast of Pentecost---or the day of Pentecost---the only scriptural Sunday worship in the new testament was 1 day a year which was Pentecost(always landed on 1st day of week every year)remember how the jews counted 7 sabbaths ?? and at the last Sabbath which was 49 days they would add 1 day to it which became 50th day(Pentecost)on the first day of week(Sunday)every year

another example of misunderstanding is when Paul preached long into the night on the 1st day of week---well a close study reveals that actually remembering the original time I stated about--late into the night would have been like a Saturday Night in our (the way we tell time I mean)BUT 6:00 sundown Saturday evening began the first day of the week for them and Paul preached into the night---see it !!! Paul just was long winded as we would say and extended past the Sabbath day into Sunday    :dsunny:

but all this I was trying to say that the assembly of their time was the yearly Sabbaths and weekly Sabbath(Saturday)they didn't have preacher meetings like we do ---they had the yearly Sabbaths---some lasted 1 day only--others lasted a week.

These are just  from my perspective of study---IMO---Sunday worship in a weekly manner in unscriptural---another close study will also show that Yahshua did not rise from the dead on the first day of week---but he arose---afternoon to evening on the 7th day(Sabbath)this takes out the saying that they worship Sunday because he arose on sunday.

I have rambled on enough--Please don't take my word for it--I encourage you all to do a deep study on history and see for yourselves   :HeartThrob: :HeartThrob:

:cloud9: Yes, some of this I knew already, but the rest was clear once you shared. Thanks!

Also, spiritually speaking, HE is the Sabbath day, no part darkness. Keeping the Sabbath then, becomes walking in the Spirit, as He is in the Spirit, because the Spirit is light and life, and the Spirit does the works. Blessings....

Great thread and posts.  I especially enjoyed the above note from Cardinal.  It does seem as though we are remarkably well spread out geographically.  Almost as though God thought it best to make sure we don't go trying to form a formal church somewhere in some building.

My thought is that since I travel quite a bit, I'd love to meet different folks for coffee and chat for an hour or so.  I figure if two people meet for two hours or longer, a church is likely to pop up.  So we should probably try to keep it brief.   :Peace2:

By the way, how do you guys do those nice, darker blue, boxed quotes?   :Chinscratch:

Several ways to do that Jasman.

Method #1.
Press the quote button ---> (http://tentmaker.org/forum/Themes/default/images/bbc/quote.gif) and put whatever you want to be quoted between the ][
It will look like this:  [quote*]This is an example. Just remove the # [/#quote]

If you want to add the source of the quote it looks like this: [#quote=Jasman]This is an example. Just remove the *[#/quote]

Method #2
If you want to quote my post look at my name, the to the far right click on quote. You just quoted my full post.
Of course you can remove parts of what you quote. Personally I think the quote should be as short as possible because that makes it easier to understand which part you answering.
You can also cut the quote into sections and answer per section. I've done that below as an example. Just press quote and you see how it's done.

Just quoting this here so others can reply.
1 Timothy 2:3-4  ...God our Savior;  Who will have all men to be saved...
John 12:47  And if any man hear my words, and believe not, I judge him not: for I came not to judge the world, but to save the world.
Romans 4:5 But to the one who does not work, but believes in the one who declares the ungodly righteous ...

I like that thought.  Is there a link to a particularly good teaching on it that you might have?
Thanks,
