Sharing UR

I shared UR with my brother & it was the first decent going debate I've had with him in YEARS. (Look at God).

He, like me sees the issues in modern Christianity, is aware of the pagan insertions, but still believes in an eternal hell. I shared some scriptures with him to support & I will be sending him more. I also told him to learn to read the white (as Gary's homeless friend pointed out to him :) ). The last thought I left him with, which I could see sinking in:

"God won't force people to believe, yet he scares them with the threat of hell? So do you believe out of love or out of fear? If so how can you follow the number one commandment, which is love God."

When I saw where our conversation was going, I told myself here is an opportunity to help plant the seed. I kept making it my goal, not to convince, but to stir thought, get to the spirit within him & get it prepped for God to start watering.

I've shared with friends, which many of didn't have background in religion & took to it very easily. Sharing with pre-exposed ETer's always prove to be more of a debate  :laughing7:

Truth has a way of leaping out of one's mouth. You are his vessel when you speak the truth. When something is true, it cannot be contained and reasoned against. Your brother knows you speak the truth. He just needs time for his beliefs to catch up.

Share how God has worked in you and dealt with your carnal nature. That evidence with speak much louder than words.

You cannot share the truth when a person who has not been given to hear, your voice becomes a waste of time.  :dsunny:

I don't think it's a waste, I don't think my purpose is to force it down anyone or convince them to believe. I don't know who has the ears to hear, but I know it's my job to help plant the seed & God does what He will with it. It isn't my job to make them believe nor can I, God will groom & water the seeds planted as He sees fit for His purpose. They may not have the ears to hear today or tomorrow, but God may have that planned for them later on. Just as he removed the scales from Saul later in his life.

God set up a perfect opportunity for me to share & led me to say what was necessary for whatever His purpose may be for me or for those who hear.

No sharing is NEVER a waste!

I used examples that are humanly relatable. I have had a strange knack for understanding the minds & hearts of others, so not only did I utilize examples from my experiences, I used things I knew related enough to my brother to help him understand or at least stir thought.

I've always found myself to be strange when it came to my interactions with others, back when I was younger.. too emotional, too loving, too understanding, too forgiving & I would ask God to make me tougher, but now I better understand why I was molded this way. What I thought was a curse is now a blessing & I want God to use me as His vessel for whatever purpose He created me for.
