Didn't Jesus know His own family?

Several of the apostles, followers of Jesus and the main figures in the NT are said to be brother, half brothers, cousins etc of Jesus.
But at almost every place, like when Jesus started selecting His apostles, nobody seems to know Him.
And yet, to me it seems quite obvious Jesus knows His own direct relatives.

Any take on this?

       those born of the spirit...no-one knows where they come from or where they are going.....

   for this reasn John the Baptist had to have the Messiah revealed to him by the Holy spirit....

   through the dove descening and remaining on him.  Even though a cousinto Jesus.

      Of course Jesus testified that  'he was from above..and returning unto His Father' while he

was here..

   In Mark 6;3   ...isn't this the carpenter? Isn't this Mary's son? and brother of James,Joseph

Aren't his sisters here with us? and they took offense aat him

   Jesus said to them, only in his hometwn among his relatives is a prphet without honour

   what's flesh is flesh and what's spirit is spirit.   Jesus family come t him for they thought he had

lost his mind at one time.

    People had formed all different kinds of their own expectatins of what the Messiah would be like

what he would accomplish..and they way he would accomplish it.[private interpretations of the

scriptures] 2 Peter 1;20,21.......and for this reason many did not perceive the hour of their

visitation..and rejected..crucified Him.

   it is the same..everywhere all over the world..people do not know God..for it is by the spirit that

we perceive Him and know him.  and the power of the prince of the air[shroud of darkness]

must be removed from off all faces.   It takes a revelation of the spirit,by the spirit.......

   whom do you say that I a?  Blessed art thou,Peter..for flesh and blood did not reveal this to you,

  but the Father in Heaven!.....and on this rock[revelation of the spirit] I shall build my church

and the gates of hades shall not overcome it!

Indeed, in the Synagogue of His own home town, people were asking each other, is this not the carpenter's son?  They weren't sure they knew Him or recognized Him.  It was as if He had been away for a long time.  In fact there is a theory that Jesus had been away with His great-uncle (family again!) Joseph of Arimathea, who had tin mining concessions in Cornwall.  There is interesting, but not conclusive, evidence that He was there.  It can be demonstrated that Christianity took VERY early root in that area.  There is also evidence that Jesus had contacts in the Parthian Empiire, at least in the person of one of it's minor kings, Abgar.  Thus He said that He had sheep not of that fold (Judah).  The core population of Parthia was made up of Israelites of the dispersion, and ruled by members of the House of David.

As to Jesus Himself, He made it clear on several occasions that (as Paul later said) the flesh, or rather, family, profited nothing.  Given my own family, I must agree...

Laz, agreed on tin mines and synagoge.
But that wasn't really my point. Some of the Apostles were literal (half) brothers. Surely they must have known their own brother. Unless you assume His appearance at the baptism was His homecoming after years. (John Baptist recognized Him btw)

Joseph, who sorta got exiled after Jesus died, founded the first Christian church in England.
