Though I've been to Tentmaker many times, I have never joined until today.

I wish to share how I came to believe in the reconciliation of all people to God. Prior to that time, whenever I heard the word "Universalist", I understood it to refer to someone who believed everyone would go to heaven automatically, whether they became a Christian or not. I have always considered that to be a false teaching — and still do.

The church with whom I presently meet is part of a circle of fellowship in whose leading brethren understand God to have restored the gifts and ministries to the Universal Church. Prior to attending this church, I had been reading early Christian writings, and was surprised that so many of the early Christian practices were being carried out in the meetings. I also heard many teachings which corresponded to the early Christian teachings about which I had been reading.
About a year after I began attending this church, I went to one of the summer camps.

At the dinner table, I heard one of the leading brethren say, "I never could believe in an eternal hell." WHAT???

"What have I gotten myself into?" I thought. "I have gotten myself into a cult!"

I walked around that camp ground, deeply disturbed. My main emotion was that of horror. But just when I was in my worst frame of mind, I thought I sensed a word from God, "Don't worry about this. Just leave it alone and enjoy the rest of the camp. All will become clear." Then, to my amazement, I felt completely relaxed.
After I returned home, I discovered something amazing whenever I read the scriptures. I saw the reconciliation of all things to God in virtually every passage I read for the next week or so! This is what convinced me of its truth.

I am well aware of that, WW. However, I never identify myself as a Universalist because most people consider those who do as believing that everyone is automatically "saved".

Timios, welcome. You have a pretty cool testimony, similar to my own. Although with me, when I started reading articles is when I had gotten that "this is a cult" feeling. But the more I started to study, I had the same experience as you, it all came together.

I love hearing testimonies like this. Mine was sort of similar in that I just read something one day, and I was totally convinced. I stumbled upon this site for the first time a couple years ago and was skeptical, but once I really started to read, there was no denying it.

   I believe you , same here and for most of us really  :thumbsup:
   untill   we are given ears to hear What the Spirit is saying   , we  are  carnal still and  believe  in the letter of the law that kills !    I Thank God  for His  mercy on all   and perfect plan .

Rom 8:10   And if Christ be in you, the body is dead because of sin; but the Spirit is life because of righteousness. 


Rom 8:11   But if the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, he that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by his Spirit that dwells in you. 


Rom 8:12 ¶ Therefore, brethren, we are debtors, not to the flesh, to live after the flesh. 


Rom 8:13   For if ye live after the flesh, ye shall die: but if ye through the Spirit do mortify the deeds of the body, ye shall live. 
Rom 8:14   For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God.

Isn't it wonderful how Father makes himself known. I think it was Ray Smith (bible truths) that gave me my first glimpse of UR. I really had never really much exposure to UR other than totally rejecting Eternal Damnation at an early age.

Father has transformed my life, literally and spiritually and I am sure He will for you too.  :dsunny:
