Water into Wine

This is not so much a topic on universal salvation. I just wanted to post a scripture to explain what I see in it, and ask what you see. My comments in black

John 2:1-11
On the third day a wedding took place at Cana in Galilee (comment: Jesus was raised on the third day to bring spiritual life, married in Spirit to his disciples at Pentecost. That wedding/union is a deposit of future glorious wedding/union 2 Corinthians 5:5). Jesus' mother was there, and Jesus and his disciples had also been invited to the wedding. When the wine was gone, Jesus' mother said to him, "They have no more wine."

"Woman, why do you involve me?" Jesus replied. "My hour has not yet come." His mother said to the servants, "Do whatever he tells you." Nearby stood six stone water jars (human beings are compared to clay pots in the Bible. The number 6 is often understood to represent the flesh/corporeal/earthy), the kind used by the Jews for ceremonial washing (the jars are empty, signifying that the ceremonial washings of the Law have not done an internal cleansing work), each holding from twenty to thirty gallons.

Jesus said to the servants, "Fill the jars with water" (Comment: the Holy Spirit is compared to Living Water); so they filled them to the brim. Then he told them, "Now draw some out and take it to the master of the banquet."

They did so, and the master of the banquet tasted the water that had been turned into wine (Comment: The wine symbolizes blood, which symbolizes the sacrifice of the flesh, indicating that what is invisible [flavorless water] will do a work within man of sacrificing his carnality [giving him flavor of good wine]). He did not realize where it had come from, though the servants who had drawn the water knew. Then he called the bridegroom aside and said, "Everyone brings out the choice wine first and then the cheaper wine after the guests have had too much to drink; but you have saved the best till now." (Comment: the Law came first, but did not fill the people with life. The best came later when Jesus would die, be resurrected and give the Spirit to the people who believe to do a mighty work within them. The master [the Father] is telling the Bridegroom [Jesus], signifying the sending of his Son do the work which the Law could not do)

Also, maybe Mary in this story represents the mother Israel before Christ' time had come who was crying out for lack of wine. Reminds me of the Romans 7 description of attempting to follow the Law of Moses and crying out for a Savior. The time of growth in Grace had not yet come, which is why the jars were empty. Now there is a new mother, a New Jerusalem, she is our mother.

The word does indeed have much illustration of things to come and why we are here and what life is all about. Christ is indeed the one who turns us from water into a richer deeper fruitful wine of incredible value and flavor. Much symbolism of things to come.

Jesus was asked by his mother to do what the time was not yet come for him to do....Luke 12:50 I have a baptism with which to be baptized, and how greatly I am constrained until it is accomplished!

6 stone jars(ages of man), empty(used up)- refilled for a transformation into a foretaste of the 7th(completion/Day of God/age of restoration), the wedding feast fulfilled, a bride having born many sons.(Logos/seed implanted into the womb of a holy nation-"until we all attain to the unity of faith, unto a mature man")

Ro. 8:19-30 For the creation waits in eager expectation for the children of God to be revealed. For the creation was subjected to frustration, not by its own choice, but by the will of the one who subjected it, in hope that the creation itself will be liberated from its bondage to decay and brought into the freedom and glory of the children of God.

   We know that the whole creation has been groaning as in the pains of childbirth right up to the present time.  Not only so, but we ourselves, who have the firstfruits of the Spirit, groan inwardly as we wait eagerly for our adoption to sonship, the redemption of our bodies.  For in this hope we were saved. But hope that is seen is no hope at all. Who hopes for what they already have?  But if we hope for what we do not yet have, we wait for it patiently.......

...... And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose. For those God foreknew he also predestined to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brothers and sisters. And those he predestined, he also called; those he called, he also justified; those he justified, he also glorified.

EPH 1:8-11 With all wisdom and understanding, he made known to us the mystery of his will according to his good pleasure, which he purposed in Christ, to be put into effect when the times reach their fulfillment—to bring unity to all things in heaven and on earth under Christ.

1 Cor 15:21-28 For since death came through a man, the resurrection of the dead comes also through a man. For as in Adam all die, so in Christ all will be made alive. But each in turn: Christ, the firstfruits; then, when he comes, those who belong to him. Then the end will come, when he hands over the kingdom to God the Father after he has destroyed all dominion, authority and power. For he must reign until he has put all his enemies under his feet. The last enemy to be destroyed is death. For he "has put everything under his feet." Now when it says that "everything" has been put under him, it is clear that this does not include God himself, who put everything under Christ. When he has done this, then the Son himself will be made subject to him who put everything under him, so that God may be all in all.
