Are we to be here for the Tribulation? To be honest with you, that scares me.

Any wisdom on this?

Jock.

Jock, a light usually shines brightest in darkness.

"No one lights a lamp and puts it in a place where it will be hidden, or under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, so that those who come in may see the light.

Luk 11:34
Your eye is the lamp of your body. When your eyes are healthy,fn your whole body also is full of light. But when they are unhealthy,fn your body also is full of darkness.

Luk 11:35
See to it, then, that the light within you is not darkness.

Luk 11:36
Therefore, if your whole body is full of light, and no part of it dark, it will be just as full of light as when a lamp shines its light on you."

and

Mat 6:23
But if your eyes are unhealthy,fn your whole body will be full of darkness. If then the light within you is darkness, how great is that darkness!

The Tribulation will be an opportunity to shine  :dsunny: like no other.

There is nothing to fear, just as always the opportunity to be the Love :HeartThrob: that you were born to be.

hi Jock :hiya:

"Happy are those who hear, listen and heed the words of this prophecy.." Rev ch 1

Many Bible prophecy buffs think the tribulation will be 3.5 or 7 years long.. but,

the 3.5 of rev chapter 12, I believe is 3.5 modern divisions of time, from the time the woman (by this time) christianity/grafted into Israel (the woman with crown of 12 stars/tribes who gave birth to the Manchild/Son of man, whom the dragon in the person of Herod tried to devour) - from the time of this woman (christianity) making a 2nd migration when she was given the two wings of an eagle to fly (sail, imo) to a new place safe from the face of the dragon 3.5 modern divisions of time (imo, 1620+350)

that's one of the 3.5's

Another 7 years (week of years) is of course found in Daniel chapter 9, and is not referring to (the) tribulation (verses 26 and 27) "the prince to come whose people destroy the city" (after Messiah is "cut off but not for Himself") - I believe there's a gap here like with between the two advents of Messiah, but often spoken of in one breath as tho they were one - this prince to come will "make an accord" (the Strong's Hebrew "covenant, league") with many for a week of years (seven years)"

That's it, a covenant, accord, league, treaty for seven years but "in the midst of the seven, he will cause sacrifice and oblation to cease" (at about 3.5 of the seven years)

Amplified Bible - "And he shall enter into a strong and firm covenant with the many for one week [seven years]. And in the midst of the week he shall cause the sacrifice and offering to cease [for the remaining three and one-half years]"

Living Bible - "This king will make a seven-year treaty with the people, but after half that time, he will break his pledge and stop the Jews from all their sacrifices and their offerings"

If we go to Daniel 12:11 and 12 we read again about this prohibition against sacrifice and oblation (I believe, in Israel)
Contemporary English Version (CEV) - "There will be one thousand two hundred ninety days{A} from the time that the daily sacrifices are stopped, until someone sets up the "Horrible Thing" that causes destruction. 12 God will bless everyone who patiently waits until one thousand three hundred thirty-five days{B} have gone by.
{A}1,290 days. Three and a half years plus one month
{B}1,335 days Three and a half years plus one month, with an additional 45 days

King James - "And from the time that the daily sacrifice shall be taken away, and the abomination that maketh desolate set up, there shall be a thousand two hundred and ninety days. Blessed is he that waiteth, and, cometh to the thousand three hundred and five and thirty days."

Roughly (imo) 3.5 years into the 7 year treaty/accord/league with the many, the (place of) daily praise and sacrifice in Isreal will be taken away.. (I believe this will make the world's headline news -
(At the beginning of Mt 24, Jesus came out of the Temple with His disciples. The disciples said to Jesus how great and wonderful the Temple and Temple enclave was.
And Jesus said "see all these things?" (the temple and temple buildings and walls) "I tell you - not ONE STONE  shall remain one atop another" - not one. But! Israel has a remaining wall of a wall of the temple enclave still standing in Israel. Yet, Jesus clearly said, not one stone shall remain atop another. So may we say this has not been fully fulfilled (yet)?
The Wailing Wall where daily is made praise and thanksgiving is still (for now) standing.
"from the time that the daily sacrifice shall be taken away"

(1) In the midst of the 7 year treaty & league, the place of daily sacrifice (praise and prayers) will be taken away.
(2) Three and a half years plus one month later - "The abomination that makes desolate shall be set up."

Matthew 24:15-18 - (KJV) "When ye therefore shall see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, stand in the holy place, (whoso readeth, let him understand) Then let them which be in Judaea flee into the mountains: Let him which is on the housetop not come down to take any thing out of his house: Neither let him which is in the field return back to take his clothes."

I have read that the AOD (abomination of desolation) "of 70a.d was the roman standard at the corners of the temple, the christians fleed from Jerusalem and were spared"..

(and 1st migration of the faith/woman, for the most part, of Rev 12 occurred)

But as we know prophecy repeats.. the Amplified Bible in the footnotes says the AOD is the 666.

In summary: About 3.5 years ("in the midst of") into the treaty/accord of 7 years, the (place of) "daily sacrifice in Israel shall be taken away" (ceased, removed) and about three years and a half and 30 days later, the AOD (666,imo) will be "set up in the holy place" (Jerusalem).

"Blessed and happy the one who waits, and comes to 45 days later." - what happy event will occur on the 1,335th day after the daily sacrifice is removed, and on the 45th day of 666??

"Immediately after the tribulation of those days... shall see the Son of man" (manchild) "returning on the clouds and every eye will see Him.. He shall send His angels out to gather His elect form the four corners" north, south, east, west - Mt 24:(38-41?) ("He comes with angels and with fire.." 2 thess 1:7,8 "We are not appointed to wrath"/the fire He comes with)

One more point, in Rev 13:17 we see that the 666 apparatus will prevent anyone w/o it from "buying and selling"... and verse 15 says those who will not worship (be in alliance) with the (world) beast/body will be killed.. it's my belief "cannot buy or sell" will escalate to "will be killed (Rev 20:4d)

That's my theory, because the Lord's letter to the church at Smyrna says "you shall have ten days tribulation" (Rev 2:10) I'm thinking the last "ten days" of 666 will escalate into Rev 20:4d (the world body/beast, the dove(alliance/league, which says "peace! peace!) will alliance with or make use of "the vulture" those who "behead".

But according to Daniel 12:11,12, I believe what's commonly called the 'last days' tribulation will last 45 days. Forty five days not able to "buy or sell" and to keep a low profile - "hide thyself for a little time until the indignation be overpast" Isaiah 26:20...

And we haven't a calendar showing the days, but I believe we do have a counting backwards. Which also tells us three years and seven months after the "daily sacrifice is taken away" is when this is all "set-up".

Daniel 12:9 - "Go thy way, Daniel: for the words are closed up and sealed till the time of the end."

I agree! until the last 45 / or perhaps last "ten days" (imo)

Daniel 12:12 - Amplified Bible (AMP) - "Blessed, happy, fortunate, spiritually prosperous, and to be envied is he who waits expectantly and earnestly [who endures without wavering beyond the period of tribulation] and comes to the 1,335 days!" after the "daily sacrifice in Israel has been taken away" (verse 11) and 45 days after the AOD/666 has been "set-up" -

Daniel 12:11-12 - Young's Literal Translation (YLT)

11 and from the time of the turning aside of the perpetual [sacrifice], and to the giving out of the desolating abomination(AOD), [are] days a thousand, two hundred, and ninety.

12 O the blessedness of him who is waiting earnestly, and doth come to the days, a thousand, three hundred, thirty and five."

daily sacrifice in Israel removed (Mt 24:1,2)
        + 1,290 days - AOD is "set-up' - "in the holy place/jerusalem" then everywhere?
+     45  additional days, in which, the AOD hums along
        --------------
1,335 -  "O the blessedness of him who is waiting earnestly, and doth come to the days, 1,335"

and also: Revelation 20:4 - (YLT) - "And I saw thrones, and they sat upon them, and judgment was given to them, and the souls of those who have been beheaded because of the testimony of Jesus, and because of the word of God, and who did not bow before the beast, nor his image, and did not receive the mark upon their forehead and upon their hand, and they did live and reign with Christ the thousand years."

And/or, Ezekiel 33:6 "if the watchman see the sword come, and blow not the trumpet, and the people be not warned; if the sword come, and take any person from among them, taken away in his iniquity; his blood will I require at the watchman's hand."
:Peace2: "possess ye your soul in peace.."

Many Bible prophecy buffs think the tribulation will be 3.5 or 7 years long.. but,
there is no way all that can fit in 3.5 years.
1 Timothy 2:3-4  ...God our Savior;  Who will have all men to be saved...
John 12:47  And if any man hear my words, and believe not, I judge him not: for I came not to judge the world, but to save the world.
Romans 4:5 But to the one who does not work, but believes in the one who declares the ungodly righteous ...

Jock

Could it be that the Tribulation has been ongoing since Christ was crucified? Just thinking back to things like Krakatoa and the two Tsunamis, Indian ocean and Japan. Scripture says that it will like something that the world has never seen before. When I watched the Japanese Tsunami in particular it blew my mind and I remember thinking that I had never see anything like that before.

I can't be dogmatic though, just some thoughts  :dontknow:

WhiteWings

A little bit of both I think.
Ezekiel writes about a period of peace (after war) and hints to a 3rd Temple.
Even if we ignore the Temple part the peace part doesn't seem to have to taken place yet.
After Jesus Isreal was either occupied by Romans or the Jews were driven out of Israel and returned nearly 2000 later shortly after WW2. But that they never had peace. Just a lot of tension and even small wars with their neighbors.

Yeah WW

It's sometimes easy for me to forget that the scriptures are "Israel centric" Still, the Tribulation does seem to be on a global scale, maybe when the world turns against Israel, which I think is in the mail. Just speculating.

It's all about Israel. But that doesn't exclude global scale. Many wars in the OT in which the Jews fight against other nations. In the NT Israel is occupied by the Romans.
Revelation seems to tell is that 3 wars against Israel are coming. Each time more and more nations are involved.
The world economies are so tied together, if one part falls all fall or at least suffer big time. Imagine what happens if Isreal goes to war and oil supply dries up. It will cause famine because the whole food production cycle requires lots of energy that mostly comes from oil.

I certanly see what you are talking about Bro  T !

I  have always    thought  for years now    how is literal oil  /a fuel source . Thats  whats  the power struggle seems to be over with the nations
and how the Oil represents the Holy Spirit   in the spiritual realm
and see the same types of struggles for that power  in nations
Jesus is the reward  !!
