Why is it some read the very same Scripture as Universalists and see nothing but damnation?

Because Father want's it this way? The old days are long since gone when the requirements to prostrate oneself at the foot of an alter or a nobel deity, though strangely enough, such practices occur daily throughout the world. Why is that?

It is very simple, they have not been given ears that hear or eyes to see. Hear/See what? Spirit. :HeartThrob:

Rom 11:8
as it is written: "God gave them a spirit of stupor, eyes that could not see and ears that could not hear, to this very day."

Deu 29:4
But to this day the LORD has not given you a mind that understands or eyes that see or ears that hear.

Jesus spoke often about speaking only to those that had "ears to hear."

Mar 4:23  If anyone has ears to hear, let them hear."

Mat 11:15  Whoever has ears, let them hear.

Mat 13:9  Whoever has ears, let them hear."

Because.....

Jhn 4:24  God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth.

Jhn 4:23  But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeketh such to worship him.

So is it any wonder how most get Fathers word so completely wrong? How they can twist his Word to suit what they need to hear in order to justify their own short-comings. They simply have no concept of what Spirit and Truth means.

We must not mock them or look down on them. For really, can they lead anyone astray? Did they lead any of us away to the point of no return? No, of course not. The struggle might have been difficult and they way long and painful, yet it was the journey we needed to take. I believe that in time, all will make the same journey home as we.

Should we feel sorry for those that have been blinded and cannot discern truth? I don't believe so, because in sorrow, are we not rejecting Fathers plan? Rather we should always show Love and respect, in fact all the fruits of the Spirit which we have been given. For each of these deaf and blind brothers and sisters have a small light of spirit deep inside, just begging to be heard and loved.

We can do this.  :HeartThrob: We are commanded to do so.

Jesus said:

Mat 5:46 For if ye love them which love you, what reward have ye? do not even the publicans the same?

For with much Love and Gratitude we can know that what we have been given is the greatest of gifts and we have been redeemed. We must share our joy, love and happiness to all. How could we not.

1Cr 1:28-30
God chose the lowly things of this world and the despised things—and the things that are not—to nullify the things that are, so that no one may boast before him. It is because of him that you are in Christ Jesus, who has become for us wisdom from God—that is, our righteousness, holiness and redemption.

My dad thought his step-grandfather Nick Dalton (he claimed to be a member of the Dalton gang, but he wasn't) was going to hell because he instructed his family on his deathbed not to take his body into any "damn church house."  He was cruel too, I was told.  After I became convinced of UR, I told my dad when the subject came up, that Jesus died for the likes of Nick Dalton too...
Socrates taught Plato.  Plato taught Aristotle.  Aristotle tutored the son of Philip of Macedon.  This boy grew up to become Alexander the Great, largely by slaughtering a lot of people.  That's philosophy.

Jesus spoke the Truth.  He blessed the poor.  He healed the sick.  He even raised the dead.  He died on a cross for us, lived again, and came back long enough to tell us to love one another.  That's religion.

YHVH = Behold the Nail, Behold the Hand = Jesus

That's a good post Julie.  May it be fully understood.

Maybe Father wants it that way but why, especially when it's your wife that can't see it and doesn't want to try, who is more loving and caring for others and I think more spiritually in tune than I am. At the time I was shown this truth of UR about three years ago I was in awe and about the first thing I asked was "why did you show this to me of all people"? The answer isn't all that simple it doesn't seem to me.

At first I thought everyone in my family would be thrilled to hear that all would be saved eventually but now I've about clammed up about it. I'm still wondering why I was shown this but I do believe it will come out some day, I hope. But sometime it feels like it is more trouble than it's worth. That's a horrible thing to say and I don't mean it at all but I've been in pain a couple days ago cuz my wife wouldn't listen to a speaker on another subject because she was afraid he might have that view point of all saved even though he didn't say a thing about it. It was something I listened to and liked and know she would be too if she could get past that crazy fear. Now after all that I want everyone to know we get along very well and I love her and she even loves me I think even though I'm probably not as loving as she is.  :LoveH1:

So anyway i'm still waiting for the answer of why it's me that understands the salvation of all because of the fact of Jesus coming to save the world, not condemn it. So simple and so many other simple versed that show it but most people blind to it and drag out the mad god verses and think you're terrible for not ..... Oh well, I know you all know what I'm saying. Some day I think It'll break wide open but right now I'm just letting off steam I guess.

bushy,
You are not alone. My parents are both proclaiming "Christians" but in their house I am not allowed to talk about the restoration of all things. Mom just asked me if I thought that people have to confess Yahshua to be saved. I answered yes but not necessarily in this age but for sure in the ages to come. She just rolled her eyes and told me we were done talking about it. So I am sorry to hear you are dealing with almost the same spirit of fear.
Shema O Israel, Yahweh our Elohim is Yahweh echad!!!

The truth wasn't popular when Christ spoke it, and it still isn't. Don't worry about some folks not accepting it. Just speak the truth, and let God cause those he chooses to believe.

"you will know the truth, and the truth will be making you free." (John 8:32)
