Amway and other Multilevel Marketing Organizations

This is a topic I would like to discuss considering I recently was part of one of these organizations. I know I mentioned briefly the other day about my experience, but I'd like to be more specific now. For those of you who don't know, Amway is a giant multilevel marketing organization that preaches prosperity, and financial freedom for life if you build a team big enough and sell enough products. I actually like their products, but they are way too expensive to buy regularly, a big mistake I made.

What I would like to tell you is that the gospel they preach is an UTTER DISGRACEFUL CROCK!  :eek: They turn the house of the Lord into a den of thieves, preaching financial freedom as an end to the woes of the world and using the name of God in vain to achieve riches. It is the prosperity gospel at its finest, a gospel I believe is the next most heinous doctrine next to eternal torment. So anytime someone approaches you asking for your number, asking if you'd be interested in hearing a business concept that will make them financially free, BE ON ALERT.

Luckily I left before I got hurt too much, but I did lose far too much money. I generally liked the people I worked with on a regular basis, and I feel many of them still were in touch with the average joe and were genuine, caring people. But at the big rallies when the "diamonds" were on stage, they showed videos of their house houses, an unnecessary amount of expensive cars, vacations at 5 star resorts, and all other things of this world. Also they preach having a peace of mind and no cares in the world. Well, I felt more in bondage in that system than I have in the Catholic church. Amway is, in essence, a religious organization. I wouldn't be surprised if they had their own Bible translations.

Anyways, I emailed Gary asking him if I wrote a paper on it, his site could edit and publish it. If it ever pans out, I will share a lot more about it in great detail. I would like to know though if any of you guys have gotten involved in Amway or any other MLM scheme?

I like those scriptures a lot.  :thumbsup: I never had any peace while I was with Amway. And I suspect many of the higher level distributors didn't have the peace and the wonderful life that was portrayed. They may have a lot of material goods, but many of them are spiritually empty, never satisfied and therefore keep pushing to accumulate more wealth. That sounds like bondage to me, not freedom.  :Chinscratch:

There was a time at a major function when I was just having a miserable time. Everyone else there was worshiping the upline cult leaders and doing all these creepy chants, and I feel like I was the only one who saw through the bs.  :doh: The thing is though I was praying to God asking why he brought me there, and He told me that He wants me to expose those people. I knew God spoke directly to my heart because it was one of those things that I know it wasn't a thought of my own.

In addition to the damnable heresies it teaches, it just isn't a very good business model. It's like a casino where the house will always win in the end. The upline diamonds will always get richer while the average distributor will make very little. I don't think there is anything inherently wrong with multilevel marketing. I'm sure there are some that are fine, and as far as I'm concerned, it's just another way of doing business, but with all the shady people and damnable teachings, I just couldn't take Amway.
