Preterism vs Futurism - Is There A Third Alternative?

The subject of preterism vs futurism is controversial.

The Seventh-Day Adventist Church (I don't know if officially or unofficially) seems centered on the Historicist approach.  This involves the outworking of prophecy in tandem with the progression of history.  See Unfolding the Revelation by Roy Allan Anderson.

Be aware that it is not kind to the RCC, nor is their prophetess, Ellen G. White.

I'm seeing folks all over the map on eschatology and UR in my search so far, but mostly in the Postmil or partial preterist camp.  I'm just getting introduced to UR from covenant/reformed theology and tend more toward an amillenial eschatology - one that sees the 1000 years of Rev 20 as indicative of the time between Christ's first and second advent.  While scriptures point to the growth of the ecclesia, suffering is right along side it - tribulation in parallel.  Not a better and better earthly kingdom until the Lord comes (will he find faith on the earth) and (my kingdom is not of this world) come to mind.  Ken Gentry would be one to read if one was leaning toward postmil.  Kim Riddlebarger has lots of mp3s and a book on Amillenialism - I found it to fit better in understanding this present life.

I'm open to learn and hope to discuss this topic with you folks in the future.

I agree.  I'm against the grain with some on this, but I don't believe it's going to be "fixed" until Jesus miraculously, and "in person", does it - at the last trump, twinkling of an eye, etc.
