God Chaser

I chose the name God Chaser even though I am starting to think that maybe he is chasing me!  :dunno2:

Several months a go the bubble broke for me and I discovered that Hell is a myth!. (Why do people in Luke 16:26 want to cross the chasm to Hell, and why do they ascend to Jacobs bosom?) That little rabbit trail changed my whole life! So many of my questions and inconsistencies were put to rest! Well that led to tithing is not Law and penal substitution, and so now here I am! I should be ecstatic, however I now have this nagging question about what else has been a man made myth? Some of it? All of it? How can I know a truth that most of the world doesn't understand and reject? They are way smarter than me. I cannot seem to plant myself and move toward any purpose until i resolve this issue! I hope to learn more and regain faith...

Peace!

"There is a way that seems right to a man" - but that ends in destruction. Hold fast to the word of God, "trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not upon your own understanding." God is faithful and true and he does chase us till we are madly, crazily, insanely in Love with him. Welcome to the journey. :Peace2:

God Chaser,

You are right God Chases Us with A Love that we can never imagine.  I also have just begun the journey that you speak of.  I understand the confusion that can seem overwhelming.  It helps me to know that Satan is the Author of confusion.  God does not lie.  It also helps me to think of God as the Lord God Almighty!  He has the power to deliver us!!!! He has the Will to save us!  He is saving us from deception step by step.  But more importantly than being right is knowing the righteousness and love of God as He truely is.  Christ in US is more important than doctrine.  Once we know the Love of Christ, we will trust Him.  We will Know without doubt that He will never leave us....then we will wait on the Lord with a humble teachable spirit and in that position of depending on Him alone.....He will lead us into all truth in His timing.  When I get overwhelmed by opinions of men and begin to question what is truth, I tell the Lord about my feelings and then begin to read His Word with faith.  He never lets us down.  To God be the Glory! One telltale sign that a doctrine is from God is that it is motivated by Love in all of its forms....God is Love and in Him there is no Darkness at all.

Hello Chased by God,  :LH:

I am yet not there where you are (no hell) but I would wish. Contrary to you I see many pieces of the puzzle fall into its place and on the horizon arises one beautiful and consistent picture of an all  loving God.

Don't know what to say more at this moment, other than be well.

Welcome!  :friendstu:

Salvation and getting-to-know-God can take a long time - it is both a goal and a process.  Give yourself time, time in the Word, time in prayer, etc.  The answers are coming in His time.  Look up, for end of this corrupt age comes quickly!

Socrates taught Plato.  Plato taught Aristotle.  Aristotle tutored the son of Philip of Macedon.  This boy grew up to become Alexander the Great, largely by slaughtering a lot of people.  That's philosophy.

Jesus spoke the Truth.  He blessed the poor.  He healed the sick.  He even raised the dead.  He died on a cross for us, lived again, and came back long enough to tell us to love one another.  That's religion.

YHVH = Behold the Nail, Behold the Hand = Jesus

Welcome, God Chaser!

You are in the right place.
We cannot come to God unless he draws us.
You are being drawn.

Been there, done that, remember the confusion, doubt, and overwhelmed feeling.
God is faithful.
He will teach you by his Spirit.

Colleen was so right when she said not to worry about getting all the doctrine correct.
Concentrate on trusting Jesus, being like Jesus, being Jesus.

How can you know a truth the whole world does not know?
Luke 10:21 tells us, "In that same hour he rejoiced in the Holy Spirit and said, 'I thank you, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, that you have hidden these things from the wise and understanding and revealed them to little children; yes, Father, for such was your gracious will.' "
It is God's will to reveal his truths, his mysteries to the chosen few!
It sounds like God has chosen you, and God is pursuing you.
Make no mistake, you have been blessed indeed!

Peace to you, dear brother. :dsunny:

Know that God's love brought you to this crossroads. Now that we see that a major part of the foundation upon which we stood was corrupted, it is natural and good to reconsider everything- trusting that God will lead us from a new wilderness of chaos(without form and void) into a homeland(Let there be light) of understanding. Jesus is the one at the helm and the tiller of your life and He will be faithful to you. He is not worried about your questions, your doubts- none of it. It is a glorious thing to be set free, unshackled from the myth of hell and all that it says falsly against the character of God. The journey of discovery yu are embarking on is full of trial- but the destination is like the sunrise on a spring day growing into a full noon- misty and grey as it begins, but clearing with every hour into a beautiful panorama. Hold fast, beloved of the Lord, to your knowledge that He loves you, because that is all He ever wanted from us from the Alpha through the Omega of our lives. So, He has torn down this despicable myth for you- and He will accompany you through all your trial of re-discovering the beauty of His grace. Peace.

My wife and I have been told to find another church after a decade of loyal dedication to the growth of that church! My how ugly is the hidden underside of that church! I have been called a Heretic so many times, that Im starting to like it! :laughing7:

Thank all of you for your love and support. And Yes eaglesway, I will trust that Gods love brought me to these understandings, most importantly, the re-discovering the beauty of his grace!

They crucified Christ for blasphemy.....you are suffering in the camp of a great host of heretics who have been excluded, imprisoned, tortured, burned, and shunned.

Welcome my brother.

"Come, let us suffer with Him outside the camp."
