    :goodpost:
  Really great post Jebertonbounds ,

have been studying on the seven churches    , can you tell  :friendstu:

This is because  Jesus is still in the midst of them  [all of us whom   have taken His Name for ourselves ]  we are His   Body /mkaking ready a Bride  for two to become ONE FLESH ,   the seven golden candlesticks [memorh ]  after the pattern of Gods design , but   those playing  church   or   whom use the grace and Light to pervert the truth are in trouble
THE LORD of the dead and living are still  in the judgment and blessing  process , according to the works  of what manner of spirit  is in operation   , calling it Gods Spirit    and  we know Love is what   Gods Spirit  is ,  but Love has a jealous side  , being faithful to Him    as He is to us   is what makes the union  work   together   though Christ making the godly offspring , pure and holy and presentable to  the Living God

Thank you so much for sharing your personal experience and  revealing truth with us
I agree   I left the chuch of buildings many years ago and never looked back
seeking the House not made with hands  but bY HIS SPIRIT    only

Thanks Rose.  That sounds like an interesting study.

Quotebecause the grace abounds  many   are decieved into thinking   that the law  is filled in Christ and   they hold no accountability   , leave it up to Jesus   ,its a   shame because  , the legalism    of the old church system of teaching fear    and death   , has now become an opposite influence   and extreme Antinomianism   anti law     the true Jezabel spirit and the spirit of lawlessness working in the members   in which   Jesus  warns in Rev  2 and Paul does also in Thess Rev 2:20 Notwithstanding I have a few things against thee, because thou sufferest that woman Jezebel, which calleth herself a prophetess, to teach and to seduce my servants to commit fornication, and to eat things sacrificed unto idols.

Thank you Rosered,

Thousands work against God and His Christ if they seek sexual immorality or seek worldly gain by using that which is sacred, but denial appears. Demonstrate that the main exponent of grace also tells of reaping what is sown and that God is not mocked, and immediately there is indignation that there is such a thing as [edit: consequences for] sinning once grace has been received and it is boasting to even consider it. The grace includes Christ's love for us and the cleansing that occurs once love for Christ is returned - but the sinner still needs to be told: "go and sin no more", as habits have a way of rebounding and bringing with them consequences - and nobody except spirits with blackened hearts wants that.
"A few drops of blood renew the whole world, and become for all men that which rennet is for milk, uniting and drawing us into one". "Christ is like leaven for the entire mass, and having made that which was damned one with himself, frees the whole from damnation".

j, the context thing makes sense, doesn't it?  I think at least it's a big piece of the equation.   :2c:     Blessings.

The oldest known manuscripts agree with each other 99% of the time.  The scriptures, accurately translated, Spirit revealed - reliable.   Looking unto Jesus, the Author and Finisher of our faith.  Heb. 12:2

I believe that the letters in Revelations to the churches in Asia are not simply letters to those specific churches, but rather to the types of churches described in the letters.  They are not written to single congregations at that specific time, but rather to all churches through the age.

It's ironic that I used to sit in those very churches thinking all was OK because I was in the "right place."  It was not until God lead me to my former Baptist church that he began to open my eyes.  That church was the best thing that ever happened to me (in a sense), because it was through my experiences there that God called me out of man's church, and into his glorious light.  :dsunny:  It was bittersweet - I met my wife there and was blessed with a family and many dear friends, yet that church brought me years of pain.  I absolutely cannot explain why I did not leave that church years sooner, except maybe because I was just so blind and self-centered.

That Baptist church I described in reply #24 was really not all that unusual.  Many churches today are similar to some greater or lesser degree.  The things I described there are very common across Christendom - even pervasive, to varying degrees.  Yet it is of utmost importance to bare in mind that there are good things going on in those churches too, just like in the churches described in the Revelation.  We must never be judgmental of our ET brothers and continue to love them. :HeartThrob:

Absolutely agreed.  I believe the Lord is talking to all churches in the world throughout history.

I would like to know what others believe Paul meant by this curious scripture?

"All things are lawful for me," but not all things are helpful. "All things are lawful for me," but I will not be dominated by anything.
(1 Corinthians 6:12 ESV)
I think, simply said, Paul means God allows many things but it's best to avoid many things if one want to grow closer to God.

Smoking and alcohol (=all things) aren't illegal but if you want to run a marathon (=be closer to God) it's best to be avoided.
1 Timothy 2:3-4  ...God our Savior;  Who will have all men to be saved...
John 12:47  And if any man hear my words, and believe not, I judge him not: for I came not to judge the world, but to save the world.
Romans 4:5 But to the one who does not work, but believes in the one who declares the ungodly righteous ...

About 2/5th down.
Quotations are interesting but unfortunately during the time the Bible was written there wasn't any sort of punctuation so likely it's yet another way to make the Bible fit a doctrine...
