I've read it and some things written in there blew my mind. It mentions Jesus (Son of Man) being in the heavens as well as the angels which sinned by having sexual relations with women (part of which also is in Genesis, but in Enoch it's in much more detail). I think it gives the Flood a whole new meaning and now I see exactly what the Flood saved us from. The angels led by Shemyaza gave us knowledge that we weren't ready to have and also gave birth to the Nephilim (Giants).

As far as I know, it is also referenced in the New testament, so no doubt at least some of the NT writers thought of 1 Enoch as canon.

And as for punishment, it says the wicked will not have it easy, but does not say if they will be permanently destroyed or  corrected. But I'd go for the second choice since annihilation would contradict what we know from the Bible about the salvation of all.

I have read the book of Jasher and it also gives many more details about Genesis. Its interesting to read these books that were not canonized. They sort of fill in some of the blanks.

I too,enjoy these books..but just as the scriptures have been twisted by carnal minds..and Holy spirit must declare and expound

  the interpretation of,the Holy spirit must lead in the readings of these other books.Much is spoken in parabolic form...

   He has spoken,there is nothing hidden that will not be revealed..and I beleive the finding of these lost/hidden books

serve His purpose.

   The Grigori held fast on the fifth heaven,as well as their brother's on the secound heaven....are men /sons of God

that did not keep their proper positions on the Holy mountain[sons of Jared] that were seduced off the mountain by

daughters of men[Cains descendant's] At that time Father was showing a great  good  evil typology in men...the mixing

or unlawful marriages..resulted in good/evil mix in mankind..instead of a clear distinction of the righteous from the wicked


     Just as in television in the last 60 years haas changed the distinction from good and evil. Used to,the good guy wore a white

hat..the bad guy a black..their contrasting roles were clearly defined....this deteriated in general..and the distinction

of good vs evil was blurred.  Father teaches using this good/evil contrast.


    The flood was coming[judgement] the evilspirits in men[Grigori] were petitioning God through Enoch of the coming

judgement/flood....these men were mixes of wicked contrast[evil fallen ones] and women.  Held fast on the 5th heaven

was God's judgement that the evil spirits would not rise into His presence again. Note the fallen faces and fallen

countenance of Cain which slew his brother..to see the spirit that is in  operation on the flesh of men[sin is crouching at

your door,it desires to have you,but you must master it]

.Also the mark. of Cain...the beast..nature and works[evil] men that receive this[fallen] can not live[if a beast touch the

mountain he shall die]

   the wicked contrast entering angels in heaaven..is the dragon..the wicked contrast entering the snake in the garden is

the original serpent,the wicked contrast entering the gentle animals is the beast,the wicked contrast entering man is

the man of sin.the .old adam that must die.  in all of us...... He is making all things new.........

  hi! I don't care for any of the extra-biblical things I've read, this one there was something in it.. I remember! prayers for the dead..

The extra biblical gospels i've read sound strange to me like they are of a different spirit.. :2c: :girlheart:

I agree Marie but this book of Enoch is different. I find it to be truthful. I could be wrong of course.

I've also read other gospels and yes those are clearly not the same as the four.

I've read the Book of Jasher, and initial enthusiasm gave way to caution - I now have mixed opinions on it.  I've tried to read the Book of Enoch, but have yet to make a good start.  I've read the Apocrypha, and find most of it lacking in spiritual import. 

Has anyone else read the Lost Chapters of Acts?
Socrates taught Plato.  Plato taught Aristotle.  Aristotle tutored the son of Philip of Macedon.  This boy grew up to become Alexander the Great, largely by slaughtering a lot of people.  That's philosophy.

Jesus spoke the Truth.  He blessed the poor.  He healed the sick.  He even raised the dead.  He died on a cross for us, lived again, and came back long enough to tell us to love one another.  That's religion.

Knowing that those who canonized the 66 books of the bible were caught up in the same delusion that KJV translators were and the ones who decided on the creeds and or doctrines, we should not trust them blindly. The Holy Spirit discerns all things, trust the HS.

But the books were canonnized long before King James was even born. Translation and interpretation are always subject to
world view/God view in the interpreters/translators opinion. If man never made mistakes in interpretation or translation or l
et their worldview color their beliefs, then there would be only one denomination and everyone would believe just like I do. :Peace2:

Do you guys think these "lost gospels" are legit? I don't really know much about these books, and I'd be interested to know if they are inspired by God or not.

One of them says Jesus asked Judas to betray him, which is something that I have always believed. Judas couldn't have done a thing if Jesus had not wanted him to do so.

"The writings of Enoch also state that all will bow and confess, but many will be turned away because it will be too late." Since you've read the book of Enoch I was wondering if you have any commentary on this.

Hi Samuel. It doesn't say it will be too late, it says that the wicked will not be blessed in contrast to the righteous, but it does not specify if they will be destroyed permanently or just punished for correction.  It does say that the wicked deserve death, and that is confirmed by the New testament, however, there is also Jesus who died for all so that we will be free from the wage of sin.

For the fallen angels, however, there will never be peace or forgiveness according to the book of Enoch.

This is difficult topic because how do scholars decide something belongs in the canon. The books Peter and even Revelation were on the list of being removed from the official canon. One of the reasons was that those books just like Enoch contain to much stuff about demons etc. It was feared that would give way to ancient pagan doctrines to be inserted. Jesus referenced Enoch. Was it because it was official Scripture or Jesus just thought Enoch had a few wise things among 1000's of errors. That would be like quoting from, say, Egyptian writings.

Extraneous books - do they differ or disagree with what is already established?
If so, is the difference important?
Does the extraneous writing add information without contradiction? Cool.
Does the new information help us love more, grow closer to God, or help us inderstand him, others, or ourselves better? Cool
Am I going to give it the same weight or consideration as the word of God that's established? Probably not. :Peace2:
