QuoteI mean it in every sense of the word. The church members were terrorized by sermons on hell if they are not saved, the possibility of their being deceived about their salvation, that their lives would be destroyed if they ever left the church, that it was our fault so many were going to hell because we were not good testimonies, that we had better parent our children right or they would end up in eternal torment. I could continue with other terrifying doctrines. At one point, I developed anxiety and panic attacks. I was diagnosed with CFIDS.  Later, as I researched this disease, I discovered that it was a stress related disorder caused by my adrenal glands being in a state of exhaustion from stress.

HARDEST  thing to do is wait on the Lord ,   here is the patience of the saints [holy ones ]  called out of the world for His purpose , He will do His perfect work in you as you be still and Know He is GOD

this confession  I had to have knee surgey and  had been going to the drs  for it and   the doctors scedualed it for the following Jan of the next year , I did not want to pay another deductible  , and was in great pain  ,   I want you to know when begging for His help in secret , he heald my knee  , I have never had trouble with it since  , that was over 14 years ago !!!!  I can do nothing  but HAVE FAITH  IN HIM !  more faith was given because it was prayers answered , I dont know if you can   ''brag '' on  what God does for us , and not get in trouble , but wanted you to know  God hears our pleas and cries to Him ,    I have no doubt we are serving an AWESOME GOD !    never was more open and  showing than believing in the SALVATION OF ALL !!  :HeartThrob:
so much more personal things , but they are  in our relationship , to precious to share

that intimate relationship you have with the Lord will be the most valuable thing you have ever possessed  in your  entire  life
God bless  you  , He is a blesssed Loving Father to us all  :HeartThrob:
Jesus is the reward  !!

Rosered, that was beautiful!
Be encouraged, sister Tiffani!  This stuff is REAL!

Tiffani,
I was in ifb churches for over 20 years and was a pastor for 8 years. I did my share of hell-fire preaching, sorry to say. I am still a pastor but I led the church out of the ifb to become non-denominational 4 years ago. We became grace-oriented and understand Jesus to be our life (Gal.2:20, Col.3:4), not rules or standards. It has been a wonderful transition but not easy. Now I am beginning to see this ultimate reconciliation of all things as another beautiful truth about God Himself.

God bless you on your journey.
Neal

Have you read The Shack?

Jock

Hi Tiffani

My story in some ways is very similar to yours. To be honest, I haven't been to a church or even read my Bible for 6 years. It just seemed to condemn me. I have read a lot of books though and being in Tentmaker helps. Here's a link to a book I found quite helpful.     http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yTxDy3Jl_TE

and this is a link with testimonies of others who have been through the religious grinder. Hope it helps

The GoodNews Is- There IS NO HELL, God loves His enemies- and eventually everyone who ever lived will be redeemed, reconciled and restored to abiding life in God.

"If I be lifted up I will draw all men unto me"(Gospel of John)

"As in Adam all die, so also in Christ shall all be made alive, but each in His own order" (1Cor. 15)

"I will never leave you or forsake you" Hebrews 13:5

"Behold I am making all things new" Rev 21:5

I so admire your courage. I have been through the WoF grinder. May the Lord bless you in every way. :o)

Tiffani started an interesting thread.

Sectarian Christianity misses the mark when it comes to allowing ones faith to change.  The believer is confused by the doctrine that is given to them and get trapped in a confusing, emotional, paradox, and left to figure it out on their own.

Salvaging her faith is not what is needed.  Sectarian Christianity will never allow faith to change because they are doctrinally imprisoned.

I hope she finds her way back here.  The victorious Gospel of Christ message that is taught here can remove the shackles that have been put on her by the gospel of lack.

Hi Tiffany;
Eph 1;3,4 " Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, Who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places IN Christ, even as HE chose us IN HIM BEFORE the creation of the world to be holy and blameless before Him."

You are hungering for the truth that sets us free. May His mercy bless you with the peace that passes ALL understanding.
